We have to acknowledge that we have largely achieved our successes by flying under the radar”, (then) Transgender Law Center Director Masen Davis stated eighteen months ago, “It is a secret at Transgender Law Center and I’ll ‘come out’ today. We do a lot, really quietly. We have made some of our biggest gains: that nobody has noticed

That's a quote from 2013.

Well now that women are noticing and collating, they are so afraid of the exposure that they cannot bear to see their work listed and described. In many ways, this is a good sign: of how their confidence and status is so deeply fragile, and they know it.

It was a very strange twitter rant.

What not really shocked me was the anger and vitriol against women.

placemats · 29/08/2018 18:13

Aye, poor, poor Rat.

Swigs wine, like the wino I am.

Drink!

Maryzsnewaccount · 29/08/2018 18:15

They called that thread doxxing. It seems that doxxing is referring to a person as being trans without specifically asking them if that mention, at this moment, is ok. Otherwise using the word is "outing" them every time, which is strange; are we now not only not allowed to refer to them by their birth sex, but not allowed to know they had a birth sex at all?

Either that or they didn't like seeing a list of what they have publicly said and done, which begs the question why? Surely they only said and did things, publicly, so that people would know. Surely they believe what they did/said was the right thing; otherwise surely they would publicly admit a mistake/change of mind etc etc.

Maryzsnewaccount · 29/08/2018 18:16

That post made no sense whatsoever, sorry Grin

And had far too many surelys

GenderApostate · 29/08/2018 18:24

All deleted threads are carefully saved elsewhere. Elsewhere is safe from prying eyes and we aren’t censored.
Flowers to all you other elsewhere dwellers - you know who you are.

haXXor · 29/08/2018 18:33

They called that thread doxxing.

I can't speak for other contributors, but I didn't say anything that wasn't public knowledge. If it's public knowledge that someone is trans, I cannot out them.

Doxxing is the publication of personal information without the information subject's consent. Collating lawfully published data is not doxxing.

UndercoverGC · 29/08/2018 18:36

Back in the day, being listed on Redwatch (BNP hate site) was a badge of honour on the left.
They're scared of having public-domain records of political activity posted on Mumsnet?

placemats · 29/08/2018 18:38

Oh I forgot the gin references.

Gin Gin Gin

feck and nonsense.

BraveAndStunning · 29/08/2018 18:39

I think they just didn't like some of the things that they say brought to the shiny naive eyes of the lurkers on MN

Everybody is entitled to their opinion but if after reading all these threads you can seriously say there is no hate on here, well, then I don't know what hate is.

"Them" and "us"
"Tra's "agenda""
A list of who is who in the tra world
Not accepting the suicide rate numbers
Calling them "lady dicks"
Using rape and abuse to illustrate the debate
"A man cannot be a woman. Period"
Using the stupid comments of a few dickheads to general

saratustra · 29/08/2018 18:46

*generalise every trans opinions

Etc

Bloody hell.

ToeToToe · 29/08/2018 18:47

Calling them "lady dicks"

Believe me, we don't want to.

loveyouradvice · 29/08/2018 18:47

Okay I missed this ... WHY WAS THE THREAD DELETED????

I saw it at the beginning - just two posts - and you won't be surprised to hear found it very helpful!

I can understand individual posts being deleted - but a thread? What was the rationale??

Maryzsnewaccount · 29/08/2018 18:47

It's not hatred of trans people, saratustra, as you would know if you read threads properly.

It's hatred (caused by fear, in most cases) of anti-women activists

ErrolTheDragon · 29/08/2018 18:49

haXXor - you might want to quote Dr Harrop on what doxxing is and isn't - I don't know how to get that twitter screenshot which is on another thread.

Maryzsnewaccount · 29/08/2018 18:50

"Them" and "us" = women and misogynists
"Tra's "agenda" = anti-women propaganda and activism
A list of who is who in the tra world = a list of anti-women activists
Not accepting the suicide rate numbers = believing in facts
Calling them "lady dicks"= using trans people's own descriptions
Using rape and abuse to illustrate the debate - more facts
"A man cannot be a woman. Period" - and yet more facts [sigh]
Using the stupid comments of a few dickheads to general

The last one - we are quoting many, many activists who are demonstrating clearly their disdain and indeed hatred for women. Sadly, not just a few, many.

UpstartCrow · 29/08/2018 18:50

Shonky statistics and fake facts are not welcome here, especially not about a subject this serious.

The statistic showing 48% of trans people have attempted suicide was based on a self selecting survey of 27 people.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/08/2018 18:52

Calling them "lady dicks"

Eh? That's a quotation of what some transwomen call their penises. Confused

TheCountryGirl · 29/08/2018 18:52

Saratustra would you prefer if we just shut up and let the anti woman bigots remove all safeguards and allow women and children to be at serious risk from all the proponents of this men's sexual rights movement? Sorry.....ain't never going to happen.

ballsballsballs · 29/08/2018 18:56

Anyone say Streisand effect yet?

FermatsTheorem · 29/08/2018 18:59

Re. transactivists and their lady-dicks - here is the infamous tweet by D Muscato, which Muscato thought was a suitable way to celebrate international women's day.

Because nothing says international women's day like threatening women with oral rape.

terryleather · 29/08/2018 19:02

If someone's definition of hate = failure to centre men and their feelings at the expense of the rights, safety & dignity of women and girls then I don't think there's much more to say...

Datun · 29/08/2018 19:06

Because nothing says international women's day like threatening women with oral rape.

Nothing says I'm a woman like suck my dick.

saratustra

You can't, in all conscience, berate the women here over what they're saying, and then claim that what they are actually saying are 'stupid comments by a few dickheads.'

Is it just the quantity that is bothering you?

Because if you want quantity

ToeToToe · 29/08/2018 19:07

Saratustra, we are a group of women, mothers or not, feminists or not - who are concerned for women's rights.

I believe that women are oppressed due their biological sex, and their reproductive role (whether they ultimately reproduce or not).

I believe male violence against women and children is epidemic, and I believe the United Nations agrees on that.

I believe that female only spaces, protections and boundaries should be preserved - and it should be based on biological sex rather than gender identity.

I believe my daughter has the right to change in an area accessible to natal females only, use female only toilets, and be on a female only hospital ward. She should not have to give up her space on a girls sports team, girls school or any other space reserved for females, to a male.

I am concerned that the safeguarding of women and children is being eroded by transactivism, and that loopholes are being allowed that will allow predatory males into female only spaces - and that loop hole is "gender identity" and self ID. Any man being able to say he identifies as a woman.

I believe my views are supported by several recent high profile media reports, arrests and court cases.

placemats · 29/08/2018 19:18

Well hello Sarastusta
