Green Party Gender Recognition Act survey

poopsqueak · 28/08/2018 16:07

I am not sure if this has been posted before, but since the AC debacle, I have been researching the Green Party's position on a number of things so that I can make up my mind on wether to vote for them.

I came across their survey on the Gender Recognition act (posted by AC on her Twitter feed)

twitter.com/LGBTIQAGreens/status/1031505576940003329

And I thought I'd fill it out, giving fair and reasonable answers. Well, turns out they dont want fair or reasonable answers. They have actually pre-filled out answers and pre-selected answers in the favour of the answers they want you to give so-to-say, so that you are encouraged to answer in the way they want.

AIBU to think this is outrageous (although not unsurprising)? It's not in the least bit unbiased and puts words in the mouths of people filling out the survey.

Blimey.
The Green Party really need to get their house in order.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 28/08/2018 16:16

OMFG yes I just had a look too and they have filled it in for you :/

VaguelyAware · 28/08/2018 16:21

It is possible to delete the answers & fill in your own responses - but I agree with you, it is rather underhand of them to present the questionnaire in this way. It would be easy to miss those responses if attention isn't drawn to them.

I wonder what the government will say when they get hundreds of respnses that have all been filled in with identical wording. It makes it rather obvious that the Greens have not been quite upfront about this questionnaire, doesn't it.

theOtherPamAyres · 28/08/2018 16:23

Who authorised the promotion of fake responses to the GRA, in the Green Party?

Yet more questions about the GPEW

Househelp123 · 28/08/2018 16:27

That is DISGRACEFUL.

poopsqueak · 28/08/2018 16:29

Thats right, essentially they are fake responses, or rather extremely biased ones.

It feels very whack-a-mole at the minute trying to keep up with combatting or challenging where I see our rights are being challenged. Every party seems to have issues I cant keep up with, the left wing parties, with the most problems. I find it very sad.

I have deleted all the pre-filled out answers and wrote my own in. It is not clear at all that they are pre filled answers , they just look like pieces of text to me.

There’s a note at the foot of the screen: Published and promoted by Aimee Challenor. Don’t know if this refers to the actual responses though.

Coyoacan · 28/08/2018 16:31

I'm sorry for all the genuine people in the Green Party, but this party seems to have been hijacked for an agenda that has nothing to do with ecology.

I live in Mexico and we have a so-called Green Party that has never ever shown the slightest interest in the environment and a socialist party that was hijacked a few years ago and is now a party for the criminal classes.

Anyone who is interested in the Green Party's original purpose should start acting now if they want to party to survive.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 28/08/2018 16:34

The Green Party has been groomed. Along with all the other political parties, with the exception of UKIP (Whoop-de-do what a happy day)

LangCleg · 28/08/2018 16:35

Who authorised the promotion of fake responses to the GRA, in the Green Party?

Yes. Who? Oh, I see the answer is already provided.

Green Party: what the fuck is going on?

EverardDigby · 28/08/2018 16:35

I'm in the Green Party but have no knowledge of this survey so I don't know how it's being promoted.

poopsqueak · 28/08/2018 16:39

everard would you mind raising your concerns for us within the party?

I saw an email address at the end of the survey but then I clicked off it too soon, and lost the address. I would have complained.

If they are submitting this as official feedback on the changes to the GRA I think it is highly inappropriate for it to have pre-written answers in it.

Amalfimamma · 28/08/2018 16:41

Wtaf? Is that legal?

MaisyPops · 28/08/2018 16:43

How is that even allowed?

I'm a firm centre left voter and I don't understand how the left is such a fucking omnishambles at the moment.

EverardDigby · 28/08/2018 16:46

Yeah I will do tomorrow when I'm back at my computer. I guess it's possible that it's snuck through in an email that I haven't read but I'm pretty sure I would have looked at it if it was properly publicised in an email title. I can't recall it coming up on the FB page either. I am actually bi myself but wouldn't go anywhere near the LGBT etc. group these days.

poopsqueak · 28/08/2018 16:49

Yes it is on the LGBTQIA page on facebook too. Someone has called them out on it on FB, but the answer was 'we have put what we think are 'good' answers'. and 'lots of organisations have done it'

Thanks for that everard . The only email addresses on the LGBTQIA site are for the people who wrote the survey, and I suspect they wont listen to me!

Really... The LGBT+++ greens are saying Aimee had no input...

EverardDigby · 28/08/2018 16:56

I can't even bear to think what the LGBTQIA FB page is like! I've withdrawn from being active for various reasons (including this) but I'll let you know how I get on....

theOtherPamAyres · 28/08/2018 16:57

Come on Green Party - do the right thing.

Challoner is co-ordinating fake responses to the GRA. Respondents won't have to have fully formed views or have listened to the arguments because your party has taken care of that for them.

Why do responses have to go through a third party anyway? Why not ask your members to reply directly? Are you absolutely sure that the responses won't be altered when your co-ordinator receives them? AC has previous for hacking and tech solutions such as trefblocker.

Get a grip of this maverick or admit that you think fake responses are OK

BraveAndStunning · 28/08/2018 17:01

Oh my God. This just gets worse

BraveAndStunning · 28/08/2018 17:02

How can it be legal to do this?

IAmLurkacus · 28/08/2018 17:08

👋 Daily Mail 👋 Joani Walsh 👋

Here’s a story! Can someone start tweeting journos with this?

JackyHolyoake · 28/08/2018 17:12

Perhaps someone should ask Caroline Lucas and Jonathan Bartley what on earth [see what I did there?] is going on in the party they claim to lead?

Theswaggyotter · 28/08/2018 17:20

Wow, the Green Party are a complete joke! Prefilled answers on a survey.
You couldn’t make it up

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 28/08/2018 17:25

I encourage everyone to contact their local Green Party candidates about this. In fact I’m going to contact every politician I can think of. This is unacceptable.
