Whoo! That's a good one! And the comments too.

More and more people speaking out against the madness now.

MsBeaujangles · 25/08/2018 10:54

It is becoming more and more apparent that the hysterical reaction of some trans rights activists to any assertion that there are fundamental differences between transwomen and women is because they know it is true. In order to maintain the TWAW facade is to shut down any dissenting voices. In this day and age, the best way to do this is to claim ‘hate speech’ or bigotry.

Let’s face it, if someone claimed that women with other protected characteristics weren’t real women, yes-they would be called racist, disablist etc. but people would welcome holding them to account. People would want to hear their argument and debate it on the radio in order to completely take down their argument. It is so telling that there is such a strong desire to shut down any debate, I am convinced this is because (whether conscious of it or not) the people shutting down the debate doubt their own position.
They would be on much stronger ground if they said TW are not the same as women but deserve to be treated as such!

theOtherPamAyres · 25/08/2018 11:08

There's a short, sharp reply to TWAW: "Prove it".

theOtherPamAyres · 25/08/2018 11:12

It's a crackingly good article. Well said, Julian.

placemats · 25/08/2018 11:17

There are no clothes on the Emperor seems to be the rallying cry now.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 25/08/2018 11:21

Yes. Good article, and good comments

What is Spiked?

Juells · 25/08/2018 11:40

Some of the comments are really weird about gay men and lesbians 😬

Feefleur · 25/08/2018 23:05

Please? What is your issue with trans people?
Probably the most vulnerable sensitive wonderful people I have ever met.
So sad you have your dreadful issues.

UpstartCrow · 25/08/2018 23:09

Feefleur there are women who depend on women only spaces and services, and we are about to lose them.
We've been threatened with violence over this.

Lefthanddown · 25/08/2018 23:24

Feefleur I hope you're trying to be funny/ironic, if not perhaps you need to read a bit more and you'll soon find yourself disillusioned, or not, if you've swallowed the koolaid

thebewilderness · 26/08/2018 00:40

Feefleur
Women would like men regardless of how they identify to stop killing and raping us please, if you do not mind too much.

thebewilderness · 26/08/2018 00:42

Always a flood of creepy d00dz on the weekends.

ReluctantCamper · 26/08/2018 01:14

Probably the most vulnerable sensitive wonderful people I have ever met

What even the ones who post pictures online purporting to be of incest?

AngryAttackKittens · 26/08/2018 02:18

Probably the most vulnerable sensitive wonderful people I have ever met.

You appear to have mistaken fetishising people for respecting them. Imagine replacing "trans" with "X racial group" here and consider how creepy that would sound.

TerfsUp · 26/08/2018 08:04

Probably the most vulnerable sensitive wonderful people I have ever met.

Thank you for the first laugh of the day, @FeeFleur.

PeakPants · 26/08/2018 08:20

Feefleur nobody said they don’t like trans people. If I say I don’t think a child should be in a pub, does that mean I hate children? It’s not about liking or disliking, it’s just about saying that women’s spaces need to be single sex.
Oh and way to patronise trans people by pretending they are a homogeneous group btw.
I will point out that spiked is pretty much for the alt-right so yes you will get some weirdos in the comments.

Feefleur · 26/08/2018 09:33

And the majority of transwomen would agree with that too!

PeakPants · 26/08/2018 09:52

If they agree that they should not be in women’s space and that they are different from biological women, that’s great. However, the TRAs do not agree with that, which is why the debate is taking place.

Noqont · 26/08/2018 10:14

Probably the most vulnerable sensitive wonderful people I have ever met.

Really? Every single one?. Have you met them all? How about Ian Huntley? Or Jess Bradley? Tara Wolf? To name just a few. Are they vulnerable sensitive wonderful people too? Really? Maybe you should do a little more research before showing yourself up.

Feefluer

If the majority of your trans friends agree that they shouldn't be in women's spaces, please can you urge them to stand up and be counted like we are doing and some of their brave friends like Rose of Dawn?

Because if they don't, the people they have speaking for them will destroy their reputations

Feefleur · 26/08/2018 10:43

No Noqont I have never met these people (huntley etc) and nor would I want to and from what I understand certain people such as Huntley are using this as an excuse for better conditions
Note the words "I have ever met".
And no being trans is not a laugh for those that are.
Transwomen are a vulnerable oppressed minority and women of all backgrounds should work with one another for support.
Don't tar all with the same brush because of the few.
Not that i would expect to see any kind of empathy on this point from the posters on here!

UpstartCrow · 26/08/2018 10:46

You have no empathy for other women.

Feefleur · 26/08/2018 11:05

Upstart crow - Ooh er.........💗

UpstartCrow · 26/08/2018 11:08

You've never needed to be in a psychiatric hospital, or a domestic violence shelter. You have no idea about sex based trauma or healing.
You aren't Muslim and don't have to cover your hair in front of biological men. You don't have to think about going shopping whole keeping your hair covered, or needing a women only bathroom to check your scarf is still in place.

But you're happy to lecture women about not being 'inclusive' while you give away women's rights.
