Prompted by a poster on our previous thread (thanks woman11017), Magdalen has updated us on her health:
twitter.com/MagdalenBerns/status/1031267709168836608

I don't know if she reads Mumsnet, but THANK YOU, Magdalen. When I first started wondering about all of this, Berns' videos were the only ones that spoke a language I could actually understand, instead of this Queer Theory steaming pile of ordure impenetrable nonsense.

Outspoken, intelligent as fuck, strong, hilarious, and generally amazing. The kind of woman you're in awe of (and more than a little intimidated by - in the best way). Perfect combination for a feminist, especially one almost single-handedly taking on the internet. It breaks my heart that nature has dealt such a shit hand to her.

If you haven't watched her YouTube channel, just do it already.

Nothing but love for Magdalen, complete gratitude for her work, and wishing her well in this continued battle with her health. Flowers

She’s an inspiration.
Best wishes Magdalen Flowers

She is wonderful.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 20/08/2018 13:22

Magdalen is so inspiring, I wish I had a tiny amount of her get up and go.

Flowers.

I don't really like watching vlogs, but I make an exception for Magdalen Berns. I love the detail, the pacing, the sarcasm and also obviously the razor sharp analysis. Superb. My partner said that she comes across like a great mate you'd like to hang around with.

So nice to have that body of work that makes pretty terrifying developments seem more managable by breaking them down and taking the piss!

Flowers Magdalen!

AnchorMum · 20/08/2018 13:33

Magdalen tells it as it is. Thank god for her articulate, truthful insights and for calling the non-sense out.

Her videos should be prescribed by GPs to any young people who come through their doors questioning their 'gender identity.'

Oldstyle · 20/08/2018 13:34

Everything you have said OP. Extraordinary woman. Flowers

Takfujimoto · 20/08/2018 13:37

She has all of my genuine respect, I also luffs her a wee bit and I hope she's in the best health possible Thanks

Knicknackpaddyflak · 20/08/2018 13:39

An amazing woman

Magdalen, your youtube vids helped me understand and put into words exactly what it was I was so furiously angry about but couldn't articulate. It was hugely empowering, thank you.

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 20/08/2018 14:25

A terrific woman, a warrior.
I hope to see a statue of her some day.

Wow. I have a similar tumour and struggle to put a coherent sentence together most of the time. I'm even more in awe of her now.

VickyEadie · 20/08/2018 16:37

I think she's fabulous. Fight on, Magdalen.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 20/08/2018 16:40

Wishing everything good to Magdalen and a strong recovery. Thanks for all your work and commitment to women. Flowers

TheCountryGirl · 20/08/2018 16:55

The first time I watched one of Magdalen's videos that one of the fantastic feminist women on this site linked to, I knew she was something wonderful and special. She sees through all the bullshit.

heresyandwitchcraft · 20/08/2018 17:22

FoldyRoll Flowers I am so sorry. Sending you warmest wishes, and am in awe of your strength, too.

How is she these days? Didn't she get attacked not all that long ago?

I don't know what to say...
cancer sucks and life is just unfair. Magdalen is amazing.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 20/08/2018 17:30

Oh that is tragic - she is so young! Has she said where/what type?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 20/08/2018 17:33

Shit,.I didn't realise Sad I had naively thought that because the tumour was out, was all going to be good Sad

AsAProfessionalFekko · 20/08/2018 17:38

That's kind of what my dad said when he was diagnosed. 'Well it's all very disappointing really...'.

It'sallgoingtobe sadly that's usually the nature of brain tumours.

Fekko her earlier tweet said astrocytoma and given The craniotomy paralysed her, my guess would be near, or at least encroaching on her left motor strip.

Thanks heresy

AsAProfessionalFekko · 20/08/2018 19:59

Oh that's awful. Funnily enough I was having a conversation about the treatment of brain tumors with a couple of doctors at the weekend.

Italiangreyhound · 20/08/2018 20:48

Amazing woman.

dianebrewster · 20/08/2018 22:06
