Abuse of GC women on twitter (be warned graphic, disturbing)

Lily Maynard , a gender critical woman on twitter, has been sent an image of a dead body with the head extremely damaged. This is in response to her tweeting that there is no such thing as a “pink” brain.
I am sickened by this in particukar, and by the abuse on twitter generally of women who stand up and comment on gender. I think that this abuse of women is getting worse and needs addressing. I’m going to write to my MP , but I am also so angry with all the people who shut down debate on gender and who in doing so shore up the type of man who will send a woman images like this.
The whole transgender activist movement is out of control, riddled with violence and hatred of women and children. It needs to be stopped.

More insults directed at the same people.

This one calls lesbian activist Julia Long a "Nazi".

The point of this is to frame second wave / older feminists as fascists and therefore give "permission" to activists who want to attack older women physically to do it without guilt and with the support of their communities.

And - instead of laughing at the ridiculousness of calling a bunch of mostly left-wing feminists, fascists, transactivists are going along with this idea and popularising it.

Before trans activist Tara Wolf (20s) attacked Maria MacLachlan (age 60) they asked where the feminist meeting was on social media as they wanted to "fuck up some fash". Afterwards hundreds (if not thousands) on twitter congratulated and supported Tara Wolf for bashing someone old enough to be their grandmother.

This stuff isn't just words.

*Not that Julia Long is particularly old, I hasten to add!!

But it's noticeable that there is a generational split at work here. And I know those of us in our late 30s and upwards do look old to the TRAs in their teens and 20s.

The "punch a terf" rhetoric is often (but by no means always) directed at women by younger, male-bodied people at least a decade or two younger than us. And it's not only socially acceptable, but celebrated in trans activist circles.

womensvoicesmatter · 09/08/2018 03:26

I've got some more, but it's late, so I'll post them tomorrow.

Ereshkigal · 09/08/2018 09:28

I'm going to post several images showing some of the homophobic hate directed to the women who protested at Pride, after the event.

Isn't that image from the film "Tangerine" where MTFs beat up a woman?

24/7/18 The Federalist: Natasha Chart is the board chair of the Women’s Liberation Front & has written this piece collating international attacks on women,

"Trans Activists’ Threats To Execute Women Sure Don’t Look Like Social Justice"

thefederalist.com/2018/07/24/trans-activists-threats-execute-women-sure-dont-look-like-social-justice/

many examples in the article

Crwban · 09/08/2018 09:57

This makes for distressing reading but we have to shine a light on it. Can I personally thank the posters who've screenshot this abuse - I started doing so some years back on twitter but it was exhausting and draining. Thanks for keeping the evidence of their hatefulness.

LaSquirrel · 09/08/2018 12:38

Yes, but this isn't just about a small number of dangerous extremists. It is integral to the movement. [...] This isn't a small bunch of extremists. This is part and parcel of the movement.

That totally sums it up, Raisins.

Which is why the body of trans never denounce them, this is the sum total of their politics. Threats of violence.

LaSquirrel · 09/08/2018 12:45

If I recall correctly, the (really) overt threats really started about 9-10 years ago. Before that, there was some debate between the two sides. I guess they figured we were making too much sense for their liking, so shut us up instead.

The thing is, they have been doing that for so long now, they use the same tactics on the general public (which includes men). But people are not swayed by the threats, and that is probably why over 80% don't believe what the TRAs are selling.

MsMcWoodle · 09/08/2018 12:46

Saw this the other day.
Thought I was immune to it but this made me catch my breath.

TheCountryGirl · 09/08/2018 12:52

It is apparent these savages are getting a lot of excitement from issuing these threats. They remind me of sick men who need to watch more and more vicious porn to reach the same levels of sexual excitement.

Bingpot · 09/08/2018 13:03

Yes I agree, CountryGirl.

Funny how saying 'he' is literal violence but all of these disgusting threats are just 'letting off steam' because they're so oppressed.

TheCountryGirl · 09/08/2018 13:06

It's sickening Bing. Playing the role of a fragile little flower one minute and then getting aroused by issuing savage threats the next...just grotesque!

R0wantrees · 09/08/2018 13:06

"The first time I changed the world was when I told my mates to call me she rather than he. I literally constructed a new world where its possible to understand myself as a genderqueer woman, despite being asigned male at birth simply by changing the language to describe myself. This is why language and pronouns are so important. Its about creating a world in which trans people are allowed to exist"

"And I can honestly say that the work that trans people do for each other means that, for me at least, the trans community is a beautiful place to be. Despite our differences, we have each others' backs"

Absolutely agree. Hmmm, why don't I want them or other males who turn a blind eye to them in women's spaces again?

The violence described is often of a sexualised nature, like torture, even if not directly sexual like rape (which it frequently is, especially oral rape)

Bingpot · 09/08/2018 13:20

And again you've provided the perfect evidence, R0wan.

Language IS so important. It DOES mean something. Particularly when what it means is violent death/rape threats.

And yes, Eresh. I think the opposite is also true. Can't understand why these TW would be vulnerable in male toilets. They seem perfectly capable of taking care of themselves when it suits.

LaSquirrel · 09/08/2018 13:22

Yep, agreed.

SirVixofVixHall · 09/08/2018 13:23

Yes. The violence is so graphic and clearly has a sexual element. WHY ON GOD’S EARTH would I want someone who can talk to women like this anywhere near me and my young daughters ?

Why are so many politicians ignoring this ? Threatening to torture and rape women who “say things I don’t like” has become commonplace. I really can’t get my head round how acceptable it is, how well funded an organisation like ATH is, when they endorse and practice this misogyny.

OP posts:
hackmum · 09/08/2018 13:25

The almost-comical element of this is that they say they should be allowed into women's spaces because they're not a threat to us.

Dude...

Cigarstring · 09/08/2018 13:32

This is absolutely horrific. Is anyone planning to actually present this as evidence for that hate crime response thing that parliament is doing? I think it's essential. Is there a facility that allows uploading of images on the response form?

R0wantrees · 09/08/2018 13:39

Language IS so important. It DOES mean something
Miranda Yardley's article:
"How The Social Justice of Equality, Discrimination, Diversity, Inclusion and Empowerment Are Being Used To Strip Women Of Rights And Freedom"

(extract)
"Language is all important in the political control of a population: this is the lesson behind Orwell’s ‘1984’ and to understand what led Orwell to his novelised ideas, I’d recommend his short essay ‘Politics and the English Language’:

He said:

“Political language… is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.”

Cigar submissions are via an e-mail address so submissions could offer images as attachments or pasted into other documents (but they might have a limit on email size so might be worth asking them about that if it’s looking big) or submissions could offer web links to the images instead? Might be helpful for everyone responding to also submit a list just briefly describing the images as submitted, so the APPG membership can get the gist of the issues even without viewing the specific images and accompanying hate speech/threats themselves.

How the APPG will gather evidence

The APPG is interested to hear from experts, practitioners, victims and their representative organisations, as well as academics and others with an interest in and knowledge of the topic.

Submissions should:

Be no more than 2,500 words in length.
Clearly state who they are from and whether they are sent in a personal capacity or sent on behalf of an organisation, and include a brief description of the submitting individual/organisation
Be emailed to [email protected]
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, 15th August 2018.

Based on the received evidence, individuals and organisations will be invited to give further evidence during an open meeting of the APPG.‘

Please also note the secretariat phone number if you have queries or want to go on their mailing list.

‘If you are interested in the work of the APPG on Hate Crime and if you would like to be put on our mailing list, drop us an e-mail on [email protected]. You can also phone us on 0207 935 5573.’

www.appghatecrime.org/contact/

It is normal for APPG secretariats to be provided by (often) voluntary groups who have an interest in this space- this one is by the organisation Faith Matters- so please don’t be put off by that. Smile

womensvoicesmatter · 09/08/2018 14:09

Cigarstring the ones I've uploaded have already been sent to the APPG (not by me though - these were sent to me by a contact who isn't on MN).

I totally agree, as many people as possible should send any evidence of this kind of thing, in to the APPG.

I'm going to do my submission at the weekend.

How much weight do you think the APPG gives to submissions from individuals, does anyone know? Would it be better for me to send them from myself, or to collaborate with one of the feminist groups I'm in and send as a group?

Recent thread about one of the 'performers' of '"Terfs are Trash" song which was hosted on YouTube:

OP raisinsarenottheonlyfruit wrote:

"This message from the other band member appeared on Facebook yesterday:

With heavy thoughts and hurting hearts, our collective has reached a consensus concerning very serious allegations against a highly regarded member of our group.

Geo String/ Vlad Blyat has engaged in a number of abusive actions against those he calls comrade. He has committed sexual assault, physical/verbal abuse, controlling/ manipulative behavior and he refuses to own his actions.

He was offered a path to restorative justice, but he again refused to acknowledge or respond to the allegations of abuse in a meaningful way.

This public outing of Geo/Vlad, as a rapist and serial abuser is the only option we were left with. He must be held accountable by the collective if he wont accept accountability on his own.

The terf song included a line about bricking women in the teeth, and implying stamping on their heads.

Someone's written on their facebook page "So, let me get this straight. A man who advocated violence against women has been found to be perpetrating violence against women, and people are surprised?"
