Please note membership is open to both biological men and women. Some submeetings may be restricted to either biological men or biological women only.

Looks like I'll be standing alone. I am used to being an outcast so I don't really find that a problem. I am however disappointed that none has pmd me. The Biology Party currently has one member. Sad or what.

yuo need to put forward some policies... people are not going to risk signing up for a party that might advocate, well anything really.

BirthCanal · 27/07/2018 19:52

Ok well the membership just doubled.

Until we have time to create our documents our policies are pretty much WPUK.

I am awaiting them saying yes we need to field candidates.

Basically the biology party believes in chromosomal sex or sex observed at birth.

We consider gender to be a social construct of little import.

Female spaces are important for safety, dignity and mental well being.

That is good but the name suggests more of a green movement. I think you need to decide where you sit politically as well. At the moment I have no clue who I would be aligning myself with.

BirthCanal · 27/07/2018 20:00

Children should not have unnecessary operations based upon ideation in year 8. All us teachers know that year 8/9 girls are a bit unpredictable so offering them a new sex is silly.Detension doesn't work so why should gender reassignment.

detention

I'd completely be with you on the biology/gender issues but I'd still need to know broadly about the other views the party would have. As much as I want to champion biology I couldn't if say (to be extreme) your party also wanted all immigrants deported, no benefit system and no money for the NHS.

BlackeyedSusan · 27/07/2018 20:05

you had a few offers on the other thread, chase up them and see what common ground you can find.

will you be a one issue party or also have opinions of other topics?

univeral credit...
minimum wage
disability?

BirthCanal · 27/07/2018 20:07

Ok so our political position is traditional left without the bit that gives self identification any shrift. We believe that being a politically inferior group is based upon evidence based research.

In fact the central tenet of the biology party is that evidence based research in peer reviewed articles is the way forward.

I'm not sure what joining a very new party actually means in practice but I'm very interested in finding out more.

BirthCanal · 27/07/2018 20:16

Ok I was one of the first single mothers on universal credit. It resulted in massive financial and emotional issues for me and my family. It is disgusting.

Personally I feel the minimum wage should be increased and for minimal difference between age groups possibly none.

Disability it is equally disgraceful that the pip and esa assessments are as they are. They must be stopped so GP has first call on a person's status re disability.

OP posts:
BlackeyedSusan · 27/07/2018 20:27

more social housing?

how would you fix universal credit. I would pay weekly. I would have exemption s for sanctions. ridiculous if you are sanctioned for going to a job interview for example.

BirthCanal · 27/07/2018 20:30

As regards immigration I feel a generous attitude with regards to asylum is warranted, even if that means letting in a few advantage takers. It is imperative that no one is sent back to a country where they face political prosecution for simply exercising their hu man rights.

Benefits system is currently broken. People who have no income or little need to be brought up to the standards annually announced by the jrf.

Not wanting to contribute at all is worthy of compassion. Not being able to contribute due to eg ageism or disability is a disgrace.

OP posts:
AntiqueOlive · 27/07/2018 20:31

How about a Universal Basic Income?

BirthCanal · 27/07/2018 20:34

Benefits should be paid weekly fortnightly or even daily. I prefer monthly as previously professional but choice is key and many working class people are used to weekly wage packets what is the problem? After all I can elect whether my family allowance is weekly of monthly so what is the difference.

OP posts:
BirthCanal · 27/07/2018 20:38

Universal basic income is something I strongly favour based on the encouraging Scandinavian experiments.

Social housing is exyremely important. I watch as my daughter is ripped off as a student. Rent and loan. So different to when I was a student.

Where do you stand on intersex people? They have sexual characteristics of both genders.

What about people who chose not to identify as either male or female (eg genderfluid / androgynous) ?

Also not all trans people are harmful / damage safe spaces for women.
Is there a way to preserve these without excluding entire cross sections of society?

Are you worried about the biology party being likened to the BNP & Britain first with its exclusionary views?

I’m not by any means spoiling for a fight or trying to be a goady cow, but I honestly don’t understand all this hate and anti trans stuff?
Thank you.
Also understand if you don’t want to answer but would appreciate it.

Mossandclover · 27/07/2018 21:20

Spending money is the easy bit. You need to think about the hard bit too - what to cut and how to raise money. Will your ‘evidence based approach’ apply across all areas of public policy or will you take an ideological stance on other issues? For example the common leftist cry of ‘tax the rich’ is counterproductive beyond a certain point of income tax. Would you do so even if it reduced returns? Obviously you don’t need detail but a general approach to the more tricky questions.

Mossandclover · 27/07/2018 21:23

Penis what hate do you mean? The Transactivists hatred towards women? Their bullying, rape/death threats, their bomb threats towards woman’s meetings, their doxxing of anyone who doesn’t agree to go along with their lies? Their SM attacks?

Clairetree1 · 27/07/2018 21:28

I don't think you need a full manifesto, I think you can just be a single issue party, nothing wrong with that.

FeminaSum · 27/07/2018 21:36

I second the idea of a single-issue party.

"Basically the biology party believes in chromosomal sex or sex observed at birth.

We consider gender to be a social construct of little import.

Female spaces are important for safety, dignity and mental well being."

I would vote for this. I would not vote for a left-wing party with some of the other policy standpoints you've listed.
