Good to see that the press continues to pick up on attempts to silence free speech.

R0wantrees Thank you so much for all the great research and linking to other relevant threads that you do. Your good work is very much appreciated.

Have some Brew & Cake.

Wrt the Times article - excellent to see how this is being reported in the mainstream press, and some cracking comments too. Someone was even so bold as to mention Mermaids CEO taking her son abroad at 16. What's the betting that was a MNer?!

Indierockandroll · 23/07/2018 19:27

Thanks R0wan. Woodward and Bernstein have got nothing on you.

Please don't stop.

R0wantrees · 23/07/2018 20:13

Thank you, its not research... the information is just really spread out and things have been moving quickly in recent months.

BeUpStanding · 23/07/2018 20:25

Anything more than two Google searches counts as research in my lazy ass book Grin

SophoclesTheFox · 23/07/2018 20:26

You've always got the right link to hand, r0wan. I like to imagine you've got a database Grin

hackmum · 23/07/2018 20:28

There are some excellent comments on the Times piece. I firmly believe that when the shit finally hits the fan regarding Mermaids’ activities, it’s going to make what happened at Kids Company look like a vicarage tea party. Excuse mixed metaphors.

This might be a good time to repost a link to the Hate Crime enquiry.
www.appghatecrime.org/inquiries/
False accusations of 'Hate' are being abused to silence women, as can be see by the actions of our favourite Mermaid, while not providing women any protection at all - there is no hate crime category for sex.
You can submit an email to voice your concerns, but it needs to be done by Wednesday.

BettyDuMonde · 23/07/2018 20:37

The ‘Streisand Effect’ in full force here - TRAs try and shut down Women’s Place on Facebook and it ends up in the Times instead!

Slow hand claps all round for Mimmymum and friends.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/07/2018 20:37

Why is it a mermaid anyway? They are mythical. Like unicorns. Like dragons. Like keeping. Like leprechauns. Oh.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/07/2018 20:39

Kelpies not keeping (damn sassanach autocorrect)

Indierockandroll · 23/07/2018 20:40

You're selling yourself short there. You're helping us to join dots. Hopefully dots for investigative reporters to turn into something that blows the lid off those isingenuous motives of some individuals and organisations.

By piecing this fucked up jigsaw together and pulling together this mass of information you can disarm the baseball bats with facts.

BeUpStanding · 23/07/2018 20:41

Or Selkies

What is that all about then?

MsMcWoodle · 23/07/2018 21:01

Oh! Thanks R0wantrees - good news.
