We have a hetero couple in our very small town who I often see out and about. Maybe early 30s. He’s about 6 foot and wears short girly dresses, wedge sandals, and has his hair dyed pink and usually worn in high bunches associated with 6/7yo girls. She is super short, short hair, piercings, and dresses in a masculine way. I’m sure they probably think they are lesbians. I mostly see them at the supermarket. He giggles, simpers, flaps, and draws attention to himself by the performance, not just the dress.
At 47, if I dressed like him, and wore my hair like him, I’d get a few ‘mutton’ glances. If I behaved like him, I’d never have to queue at the checkout again, because the crowds would part like I was Moses.
I see them a lot. It’s a small place. I still can’t work out if he thinks he passes. But every time, I think of Travis Alabanza’s faux complaint about getting attention, while dressed deliberately to draw attention.
Truthfully though, it’s the mannerisms that boil my piss. Is that REALLY what you think women are like? Makes me stabby.
