Thank you for the reassurance Datun.....

There is a long game... but I'm hoping we can win the short one too!

I agree that the vast majority don't support.... and I believe there must be just 3 or 4 strategic things that we could do which would make the Conservative party think, oops, this is NOT a good idea... I am not sure what...

including for example something like the Daily Mail mounting a campaign in September - they are the least-campaigny newspaper imaginable but this is something ALL their readers (which include an astonishing number of middle-class men) would get behind if they actually knew what was at stake...

And a few strategic policy appraoches... and ???

missedith01 · 11/07/2018 23:28

Yup. Almost as convincing as if it was on the side of a bus ...

Waddlelikeapenguin · 11/07/2018 23:28

I saw the light, I saw the light, praise the Lord, I saw the light!

I haven't felt quite like this since I was 9 and the men wouldn't let me leave the room until I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord & saviour and was saved.

Bumbungo · 11/07/2018 23:34

If they are women what the fuck are we?

Oh fuck I laughed at that

HerFemaleness · 11/07/2018 23:37

turkeys are keys

Bookworms are worms

Carpets are pets

UpstartCrow · 11/07/2018 23:39

Toe jam is jam!

Flutterby1891 · 11/07/2018 23:41

I keep reading this statement that "82% of the general public aren't buying it" but I find it really hard to believe that even 50% of the public are knowledgeable about this issue!

I'm not really on either side (although I'd happily share a changing room with a transitioned transwomen) but it does look to me like the translobby is largely winning if I'm honest.

They've managed to get representatives appointed to very public facing roles specifically earmarked for women, they've got many gender critical politicians sacked, they've got Twitter, Mumsnet, Pride in varying degrees of sympathy with admonishment ranging from banning of GC women through to curtailing of their language, they've got loads of celebrities speaking on their behalf. I mean, there's a massive fucking projection on the MOJ at the moment!

I don't think their power can easily be underestimated.

thebewilderness · 11/07/2018 23:42

If they are women what the fuck are we?

The male half of the population have taken to themselves the words formerly used to describe our half of the population so the only words left to describe us are the pejoratives they scream at us when we say no. This is not a coincidence.

BOO32 · 11/07/2018 23:49

It's just not true. Repeating it doesn't make it so.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 12/07/2018 00:02

fluttershy are you an ancient MLP?
See pink news it was their poll Smile
The research by YouGov for PinkNews also revealed that only 18 percent of all voters agree with government plans to let transgender people change their legal gender without a doctor’s approval.

Pratchet · 12/07/2018 00:03

It does look bad and there will have to be more of us on the streets before it's over.

Pratchet · 12/07/2018 00:04

The thing is, it's a lie. Even the people parroting it know it's a lie.

Pratchet · 12/07/2018 00:06

The tories know it's a lie but they understand why it's important to say it's a lie. They are still at the stage of feeling sorry for them.

Pratchet · 12/07/2018 00:06

Ffs . Opposite of that.

Wanderabout · 12/07/2018 00:21

Repeat after me: women are not giving their rights to men

AngryAttackKittens · 12/07/2018 00:23

Microchips are chips and just lovely with vinegar!

thebewilderness · 12/07/2018 00:26

The more adamant they become the more obvious the obedience training becomes the more people recognize what they are seeing for what it is.

thebewilderness · 12/07/2018 00:29

I have been concerned for some time that the misogynists currently in power will recognize transgender rights as the opportunity for them to strip women of their rights.

Pratchet · 12/07/2018 00:31

Look like Raab certainly will. And if he promises to get this Brexit deal through for May, she'll give him what he wants.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 12/07/2018 00:32

Serfisafleur

In 2017, one in five LGBTQ people experienced a hate crime, and even at Pride trans people were attacked

Haven't they just made this up? Which trans people were attacked at pride? And what is their definition of a "hate crime"?

Aww bless. Look at you trying to define words. Hate crimes are shifting constellations of really real actually literal real mean violence a bloke felt deep inside. Or something.

Datun · 12/07/2018 00:33

Flutterby1891

"I'm not really on either side"

Lol.

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 12/07/2018 00:37

Transwomen are omen.

Flutterby1891 · 12/07/2018 00:40

To be honest, I don't think the government would be stupid enough to go full balls out self ID, but lets just say that they are....how do most on here think they would react/move forward? Would it be avoidance of these public spaces entirely, increased vigilance, civil disorder. I can't picture the situation atm.
