Men are men and women are women. Anything else is spin and lies. Sex change in humans is not factually or scientifically or possible.

Women are women and men are men.

I suggest that men expand the bandwidth of men to include men who prefer traditionally stereotypical female burdens and conventional stereotypes, such as dress, shoes, make-up and hair etc.

So long as they realise that Woman does not solely equate to dress, shoes, make-up and hair etc.

Datun · 13/07/2018 05:24

I just don't think it's a helpful thing to effectively demonise men as a group

Yeah. Feminism is about women. The dead ones, the abused ones, the disadvantaged ones.

Women.

You keep talking about men for some reason.

Demonising men, 0.01% of men, male suicide, privileged white men, violent men, men's violent crime.

Wanting to shut down a movement for women, because you're worried that it automatically makes men look bad, immediately justifies it's existence in the first place.

Seriously, who are the illogical ones here!

TransplantsArePlants · 13/07/2018 05:36

Funnily enough, none of the decent men I know are remotely bothered by women pointing out facts about male violence.

Flutterby1891 · 13/07/2018 05:45

Datun.

So feminists aren't continually talking about men and male this, male that?

I was listening to people moan about how the BBC's 12 top paid employees were men the other day and wondered whether it is also seen as unfair that most successful sprinters are black? Or is it about being the best at what you do and then pay reflecting that?

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 13/07/2018 05:48

Please don't feed the troll.

Datun · 13/07/2018 05:52

Just poking 'em a bit, prawn. Like a piñata.

But you're quite right of course.
And anyway, job done, given what just fell out...

Oh! #Address the Nation

Well sirs, I don't live in London and didn't hear or see anything of your lovely little light shows! No, no Ape Women, no men women, nothing! You did not address the little known backwater of NotLondon at all!

You very kindly illustrated, no, illuminated, your irrelevance!

  • yes, I know, many pages have passed but I was working last night Smile

Picking the night of the footie was a bit of an own goal. Not to mention the visit of a certain US President. Even the daily update of chez Beckham and Love Island seems to have been downgraded in the Daily Mail

@flutter

I was listening to people moan about how the BBC's 12 top paid employees were men the other day*

People? I suppose you meant women but then changed it to people? Because, let's face it, it's women who have been most vocal on this issue.

Flutterby1891 · 13/07/2018 07:19

Well, it was Nick Grimshaw (I think) who I first heard mention it.

Bowlofbabelfish · 13/07/2018 07:30

Has anyone claimed responsibility for the projection on NotSheffieldTownHall?

We are defining all buildings now by whether they are Sheffield town hall or not. I decided unilaterally.

Stunts that are successful usually get claimed fairly sharpish. Are we to conclude this is a protest, or just a colossal own goal?

Hangingaroundtheportal · 13/07/2018 07:31

Do you think that men inherently. make better TV presenters than women? You don't think there are any other factors at play there? None at all?

Yes, that is an interesting point. But it is always hard to tell the difference between legit 'trans activism' and 'trans parody'. That's the bit I struggle with.

Yes, as I said earlier the thing that makes me pause is that it's similar to an Orwell quote. Especially the reference to "us". Someone in charge. But TRAs think it's great. So maybe they're just spectacularly unselfaware how it comes across. Like all those idiots bleating at Graham Linehan.

RedToothBrush · 13/07/2018 08:28

It's fascinating to see JUST how invisible women are to other women.

It's almost as if they are blind. They only see people who are loud and shout and don't like loud shout ones who point out those who are invisible.

It's almost as if they don't want to see abuse and suffering. They are happy to turn away from it, if it's not some who has 'more important' status in society.

It's almost as if there were a desire for these invisible women to totally disappear as a drain on society.

Amazing isn't it?

RedToothBrush · 13/07/2018 08:30

Erasure of women is achieved how exactly?

Why does feminism exist again?

ErrolTheDragon · 13/07/2018 08:34

Who exactly is the 'us'?

Not all TW

Good thread. The poster fully understands the power dynamics at play.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 13/07/2018 08:43

Good for @JustAngryBird.

BettyDuMonde · 13/07/2018 09:51

Bookmarking that. JustAngryBird sees what’s going on. Increasing numbers of transsexual people are speaking up and that can’t be easy (especially for those that don’t see their condition as a political identity, just a shit deal to live with, like lots of other shit deals many of us live with).

Datun · 13/07/2018 10:47

That's an excellent article Errol.

It is the conclusion that feminists came to. It didn't take long to realise the two different types of transwomen.

And that's from the outside looking in.

You see it played out on here, all the time.

I wonder if Angry Bird is someone well known? Or just well pissed off.

Dragoncake · 13/07/2018 11:59

The Women Against Feminism Facebook page. Interesting. Photos of very young women holding placards that state why they don't need feminism.

Flutterby, why all so young?

Cooroo · 13/07/2018 12:22

This photo enraged me last night and I've gone 'public' on Facebook. Only one person questioning me, very courteously but disappointed by my 'disdain for trans people'.

So I poured out all my feelings in a reply, and now my heart is beating very hard! It's ridiculous that I feel so scared, my job is not threatened, no one I know cares either way. But it is emotional putting yourself out there as GC.
