Why are these men so contemptuous about lesbians' and women's rights? And what the fuck do they imagine it has to do with them?

OP posts:

It's wonderful and empowering how all these men care so much about the rights of women that they're prepared to stand up and be counted.

As long it's the rights of transwomen, that is.

Yes Juells. Quite.

Glad others are talking about this. It really bothered me when I saw it as it struck me as just incredibly manipulative.

Famous dude being very dismissive about the possibility that self-ID might be a threat to women only spaces:

It’s like, look this guy isn’t worried. And he’s pretty cool right? And he seems to think that if you are worried, you are subscribing to silly beliefs in ‘magic forcefields’, and you’re into ‘spreading fear’ and ‘misinformation’.

No argument, just a strong steer that one side of the debate is hip and cool, while the other side are not that bright, and/or possibly evil.

From the 2015 PN article linked above, 'Olly Alexander attacks Germaine Greer’s ‘horrifying’ comments about trans people'

(extract)
"He tweeted: “this is aggressive and violent hatred from germane greer, its so horrifying”.

The singer recently shared some coming out advice with young fans for National Coming Out Day.

Wearing a basketball t-shirt, he wrote on his Instagram: “In honour of National Coming Out Day I’ve come out inspired by Michael Jordan from one of my fav movies Space Jam.

“Coming out is a very personal thing, so you do it your way, whatever way that is, in your own time.

Just remember it’s good to talk… talk to your friends, talk to your parents, talk to your busted up 90s Space Jam VHS.

“Most importantly never ever be ashamed of who you are, because who you are is f**king awesome, don’t let anybody make you think differently.”

I'm a lesbian (not trans) and I have zero solidarity with those —protesting— protecting lesbians.

Fixed that for you (if formatting is up to it).
