Lachlan Stuart on Alex Drummand (Stonewall Advisor on trans)

Lachlan Stewart is a Labour Policy advisor:

"Centering trans voices: Alex in her own words (*1):

… Alex is a lesbian (*2) advisor to Stonewall on trans. If ill, should Alex be admitted to a women's ward in hospitals? entitled to use women's communal showers? perform body searches on women in custody?"

Lachlan Stuart concludes:
"Stonewall has never been a representative or member-based organisation, always a lobby group, necessarily beholden to its funders (mostly government now) and accountable only to its own articles (which have changed since founding)."

"women are allowed to fix cars too"

God that bit in particular gives me the rage. Like this is a newsflash. Like women haven't been trying to say this for fucking millenia, mate.

Regardless of how Alex identifies, Alex is a complete tosser.

But thank heavens for someone relatively sane in Labour being prepared to state publicly that the emperor has no clothes.

Worth remembering that the Queen has considerable mechanical skills:

"At the age of 19, Princess Elizabeth joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS). After joining, she trained as a driver and mechanic with the rank of Second Subaltern."

'I present as a woman'

Jesus Christ, what a plum. Good for you mate, with your skirts and jewellery and flowery tights. I really mean that. Crack on. Enjoy it all. You're still a bloke.

FloralBunting · 07/07/2018 11:37

Oh, thank you for that long cool drink of sense from the magnificent Magdalen.

TransplantsArePlants · 07/07/2018 11:37

Lotta

Grin Plum is such a good insult
TransplantsArePlants · 07/07/2018 11:39

"Why aren't you widening the bandwidth of being male?" Indeed Magdelen

It's laughable this person Alex has any credibility. I'm incredulous

Miranda Yardley comments:
'Ma Vie En Rose: Ruth Hunt’s Rose-Tinted Trans*Goggles and the anti-Woman Politics of Stonewall'

"I first spoke with Stonewall’s Ruth Hunt just over three years ago when the organisation announced it would be engaging with the transgender community. This resulted in the forming of the Stonewall Trans Advisory Group, you know that motley crew of transgender tyrants, including the self-styled (styled as if it were 1973) answer for any heterosexual woman who wishes to bring out her ‘inner lesbian’, Alex ‘Beardy’ Drummond. cheeky wink

Ruth, bless her fighting heart, has been defending transgender activists to an extraordinary degree, indeed there appears to be no transgression she cannot overlook with her inbuilt sense of forgiveness which seems divine in breadth and depth. She has embraced the very dogma that makes real life discussion, debate and compromise with transgenderists impossible, dogma which positions the interests of the T in ‘LGBT’ in opposition to anyone who considers biological sex to be important in any material way: trans women are women, no debate, end of.

Quite aside from it being cruel to humour delusional claims of one being something one is not, positioning one’s acceptance of an individual on a lie is outright dishonest. And anyway, what is a lesbian and gay group doing when it considers the thoughts and feelings of personal identity more important than the reality of our sexed bodies?" (continues)

I confess it was Magdalen's delivery of "Of course not, they chop your cock off" that induced a real hearty belly laugh.

Datun · 07/07/2018 11:51

Alex hadn't heard of transgenderism until in their 40s. When they discovered the 'science'.

If the whole planet doesn't see a middle-aged cross dresser, who is legitimising their fetish through transgenderism, then I'll be gobsmacked.

doctorcuntybollocks · 07/07/2018 11:55

Alex is suffering a zillion times more than the rest of us, you compassionless monsters!

TerfsUp · 07/07/2018 11:57

I know. Poor Alex, with all the discrimination he is suffering.

ijustwannadance · 07/07/2018 11:57

"Tried to pass as male for years" 😂😂😂😂

Er, like the 40+ years you were happy being a straight man?

FloralBunting · 07/07/2018 11:59

Passes pretty well as a man now, tbh.

Tartyflette · 07/07/2018 11:59

"I present as a woman."
Gob truly smacked. The self delusion is staggering. Sad

Tartyflette · 07/07/2018 12:07

I am on old gimmer and well remember Mick Jagger in a frilly skirt with earrings and eye makeup. He looked more than fine - great in fact.
What the fuck has happened that most men can't do that now, i.e. enjoy feminine accoutrements yet still be happily male? (Grayson Perry is an honourable exception.)
I wonder who might be to blame for that ? Hint - it's not women

R0wantrees · 07/07/2018 12:11

I saw someone on twitter asking questions about the scope of Alex Drummond's public speaking in their capacity as Stonewall advisor with regards being a lesbian.

OP posts:
TransplantsArePlants · 07/07/2018 12:18

This should also go on AIBU

This person is trans. Moreover This person advises Stonewall (highly respected charity bla bla bla) on trans issues

Dragoncake · 07/07/2018 12:26

Oh it's Alex! Alex was the one who caused me to question the whole trans thing. The word sexist was invented for people like Alex IMO.

Ruth Davidson exhibits Olympic-level mental gymnastics. It can't be comfortable for her.

Datun · 07/07/2018 12:30

I dearly like to know exactly how Alex describes bringing out a woman's 'inner lesbian'.

misscockerspaniel · 07/07/2018 12:30

...self styled (styled as if it were 1973)...

Goodness, I loved Miranda's style and would love to read their submission on the GRA consultation Grin

Moonkissedlegs · 07/07/2018 12:33

"women are allowed to fix cars too"

But only if they have a penis?

God what a load of gender stereotyping horseshit.

The thing is, if you showed that video to your average Joe on the street they would be unapologetically like 'yeah, thats a bloke'. There would be no hand wringing word salading about it.

Moonkissedlegs · 07/07/2018 12:35

And 'widening the bandwidth of woman' purleeeeeeese. Go and actually do something useful and widen the bandwidth of man Alex.

terryleather · 07/07/2018 12:38

What the fuck has happened that most men can't do that now, i.e. enjoy feminine accoutrements yet still be happily male?

Because for the vast majority of these men it's not really about the way they present, it's what presenting like that and claiming a trans identity affords:

endorsement and validation of a sexual fetish while claiming oppression.

ability to be a world class misogynist and instead of being called out you are validated and applauded.

ability to define woman/female and put yourself in that group despite having no legitimate claim to such.

pushing the boundaries of consent for validation and/or getting off on doing so.

So what's not to like?

Dragoncake · 07/07/2018 12:48

Moonkissedlegs the sad thing is that widening the bandwidth of being a man would be a genuinely useful thing to do.
