Have Mumsnet dropped their "woman centred" logo?

It might have happy eons ago and I've only just noticed - but where is the logo with mums doing all sorts of things?
And if it's been dropped - why? Pressure?

OP posts:

It's a site by parents for parents. It would be incredibly silly to assume that parents can only be women.

EduCated · 05/07/2018 08:38

If you scroll down it is also at the bottom.

This went ages ago from the top of the page. It went to make space or to make it look “cleaner”

It’s still there right at the bottom of this page.

I remember hating the logo when they first brought it in. But someway I am missing it today...

Floorplan · 05/07/2018 08:40

Bibesia. Oh "silly" me, and there was me thinking it was largely a place to discuss such things as breast abcesses, dysmenorrhoea, feminist theory, connective tissue diseases...

CaoNiMa · 05/07/2018 08:41

NonMensNet!

Juells · 05/07/2018 08:42

Why's it called mumsnet then?

Juells · 05/07/2018 08:43

They are identifying as a man

ArcheryAnnie · 05/07/2018 09:05

It's a site by parents for parents. It would be incredibly silly to assume that parents can only be women.

And this is why we need a pl;ace called "Mumnsnet", Bibesia.

Isn't it amazing, the world is full of language and logos and brand names and all sorts of other things (like medicine! which is a bit more important than a logo) which assume male is the default human, and women are expected to deal with that, but women are "silly" for wanting a brand which takes being female as the starting point.

Silly women. Silly, silly women.

ArcheryAnnie · 05/07/2018 09:06

Plus I miss the logo. (I had quite the crush on Sabrina from Charlie's Angels, back in the day.)

OnlyMakeBelieve · 05/07/2018 09:09

LEM I can only presume you weren't a young girl in the 70s. If you were, you'd have known how influential Charlie's Angels was for many of us. We saw women fighting and outwitting men. They were also independent - no crying about boyfriend troubles for them. They merely moved on at the end of the episode. My friends and I used to play Charlie's Angels at school. At last! A show where we didn't have to turn one of the male characters into a woman so everyone could join in!!!!

OnlyMakeBelieve · 05/07/2018 09:09

ArcheryAnnie Sabrina every time!

LassWiADelicateAir · 05/07/2018 09:10

It is still here. On the mobile site it is at the bottom of the page. It is much larger and I now can see that it is a lot of women doing things.

When it was at the top of the site it was smaller and I didn't know what it was supposed to be. I've only ever looked at MN on the mobile site.

Juells · 05/07/2018 09:10

I'd leave if too many men start posting. Not out of any high-minded principle, I'd just lose interest. One or two, as happens now, OK. A few male SAHP asking for advice or AIBU, OK. But more than that and it's no longer a place for women chatting about their lives and problems, it becomes like every other message-board on t'internet. Why do men - other than RPs - want to come onto a message-board for women anyway?

ProfessionalBarren · 05/07/2018 09:12

@Floorplan I thought that was funny!

totorosfluffytummy · 05/07/2018 09:13

Yes I thought it was funny too @Floorplan Smile

LassWiADelicateAir · 05/07/2018 09:13

Also didn’t translate well for mobile responsive designs as the detail would be lost when reducing the scale of the image

Yes. I had no idea what it was supposed to be. The larger version at the foot of the page is much clearer.

Juells · 05/07/2018 09:14

I'm surprised they've never been sued for copyright infringement. The logo is very very similar to the Charlie's Angels' one.

Lalalala3 · 05/07/2018 09:14

Was just joking sorry blush

Grin I found it funny

KlutzyDraconequus · 05/07/2018 09:17

What makes you think they're all women in the logo?

They look a bit non binary to me....

SoupDragon · 05/07/2018 09:20

I suspect there are more than you realise. Not all of them announce it (and why should they?)

Why do men - other than RPs - want to come onto a message-board for women anyway?

It’s not a message board for women.
