Why do trans folk need 'extra' rights?

lurker33 · 04/07/2018 13:37

Imagine a UK without the GRC, and the same equality act as we have now.

Why would trans folk need extra 'rights' over those that the equality act provided?

What rights do trans folk require that they wouldn't already have?

They don't need extra rights more than any other 'group' - they just want them and we are so scared as a country to say no to any minority that the government is going to ridiculous lengths to accommodate their selfish, bullying, discriminatory demands at the expense of us women.

*trans people have the rights accorded to their sex and all that's needed is gender non conformity protection against discrimination.

Repeal the GRA*

No. I don't read any of your comments any more.
I think it is clear that our views aren't simpatico. I find your contributions to FWR very goady and I prefer not to interact with you. If we find ourselves contributing to the same threads, please do not address me directly or quote my posts in order to engage me. This is a clear boundary. Please respect it. I won't be responding further.
Go well.

Leave it with us.

Another one in favour of repealing the GRA.

Bespin · 05/07/2018 07:44

Brill Ereshkigal would genuinely like to know that as the piece in the times today by Debbie talks about what is the soliton a lot of trans people are very worried as people are stating in effect that they don't want them to be able to function in society and when they ask about this they are often told that is not our problem its yours you sort it out. And I think it is this that is causing a. Lot of issue I acknowledge that there are concerns I have some too but a solution as to work on practical terms as I am not going to stop living my life or acsessing the services that I need, and then you end up with the American situation with bathroom bills which don't work and usually adversely effect non trans people more.

Bespin · 05/07/2018 07:56

No problem with complying with the above post and would ask that the poster also not comment on the points that I make and respect my clear boundaries around holding an alternative view. I have had a number of posts that have now been deleted direct at me and do not wish to receive any further posts that need deleting. I feel that this would be for the best.
Hope that you get the things you seek in life.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/07/2018 08:02

bespin can you do me a favour

When you reply to my posts can you try to use general terms when i do

I really don't appreciate me talking about how nobody answers and/or nobody says what rights and the reply says ' well transpeople this and that'

Im rarely referencing transpeople as i think most of the idiots saying stupid comments would fully admit tha they were not trans, they are the equivalent to me of plonkers who trot around saying we should ban Christmas because muslims dont like it while actual muslims go Confused

Thank you Smile

Bespin · 05/07/2018 08:34

I will Try rufus I find it hard on here as when discussing this I will often get personal attacking posts aimed at me and not the points that I make. If I. Address an individual posters points as above. I try limit making Personal points so it is probably why it comes across like that. I'm if you feel I'm over generalising. I have personally found your points always enguging and addressing the points raised wanting to work forwards and not repeat the same things over and over.

Bespin · 05/07/2018 08:36

F*cking auto correct

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/07/2018 08:41

Thank you bespin

I appreciate its difficult when there are a lot of posters 'talking' at once but i do try and treat posters as individuals (as do a lot of other people on here)

Not aimed at you at all but i hate the all trans, all feminist, all remainer, all leaver etc thats so prevalent on here.

And its never all tall women are lovely.....its all tall women want to kill babies and wear puppies as hats Grin

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/07/2018 08:42

Although i did tell a friend that her puppies would make awesome slippers...and im not even very tall!!
