It's been announced Scarlett Johansson is going to play a trans-man in an upcoming film called Rub & Tug.

Apparently Scar-Jo dressing up as a man and a trans woman in the film is offensive "trans face" according to lots of people losing their heads on Twitter.

The irony is utterly breathtaking...

But if they got an antual trans man to play the part then he would, for some of the film, have to be a woman which would surely be triggering as the whole reason they are trans is because they hated being a woman.

Menwhile, there are plenty of support roles that cunty people can get involved in - film sets often need cleaning, and even the biggest stars need food for e.g. sandwiches.

The transgender advocates objected to Redmayne playing That Danish Girl because he is not trangender and also the Dallas Buyers Club film had a male playing a transgender.
There has long been a problem with white washing history by casting white people instead of any of the competent actors who were of the ethnic people's whose history was being fictionalized.

Not surprised the transgender advocates appropriated the argument for their own purposes.

That is pretty much the entire schtick of the TRA gang, isn't it? Have a butcher's around at what's going on and who seems to have good arguments, and hoik those arguments over to trans issues to get... whatever it is that particular TRA wants.

I say that particular one, because clearly there is no real consensus on what is wanted. Some want validation so bad they are oblivious to all else, and clearly some hate women with a venomous passion that often betrays them.

That was Jared Leto in Dallas Buyers Club. He got a lot of stick for it at the time.

Now, if I recall correctly (have not seen the film), Leto had at least one scene putting on wig and make-up. As ijustwannadance said above, the (on film) exposure without ladyface (in this case) would be "triggering" (or so TRAs keep saying).
