I'm going to Starbucks and I'm going to get a leg wax, a nose job and my bingo wings sorted

So happy! Because I work for Starbucks, they're going to pay to fix all the parts of my body I'm not that keen on.

I'm a bit hairy, my tits are drooping, bingo wings are becoming a bit of an issue and I've never liked my nose.

Oh no, wait. They won't pay for that because I'm a woman. If however I were a man who wanted to look like a woman, then they would. Kind of makes a mockery of the whole 'transwomen ARE women' line really.

Thanks Milly! I’m completely well at present -just a weird quirk of the functions of the universe that I discovered my family has the BRCA2 gene fault on the exact same day that Cancer Research UK replaced ‘women’ with ‘people who have a cervix’ and now I can’t help drawing parallels, especially as the risk-minimalising surgeries are broadly the same.

One of the topics that came up yesterday was my worries about needing to be looked after post surgery (from the viewpoint of the negative impact that might have on my family - a common concern for those of us used to being caregivers, I’m sure!) so I can see how those same emotional mechanisms could be easily exploited to rush young people into (expensive) surgery and guilt parents into agreeing,

Feeling very grateful for the NHS right now.
