They're not women. They're men. Who's to say they even identify as women. Although that's not very womanly behaviour is it. It is agressive male behaviour though. Fucking nasty wankers.

DixieFlatline · 26/06/2018 21:32

If these people id as trans, than the perpetrators should be recorded as transpeople. Why should crimes committed by transpeople be hidden in womens or mens crimes?

Why should male violence be disguised in some imaginary third category that incorrectly connects their violence to a trans status that is virtually impossible to even define?

OlennasWimple · 26/06/2018 21:36

I thought homefromthehills was explaining how the police have almost got this wrong by stating that they are women, given that it is very unlikely that all four have GRCs and in any case the police are able to ask to see original birth certificates. But because of the training that they have had, the police apparently now believe that they couldn't or shouldn't do this.

I wonder if the Mayor has or will make a statement?

PeakPants · 26/06/2018 21:37

No, my point is definitely not that women are never violent or are never capable of using great force. Of course they are. It's more the point that if it is deemed that trans women are the same as natal women for all intents and purposes and are e.g. made to share a prison cell, this clip demonstrates the significant danger that could potentially lead to. Putting on a wig and female clothing has done nothing to remove testosterone-fuelled aggression and a huge amount of strength that even the most violent of women would be unlikely to match.

It's like the quote from Tammika Brents, who was lucky to escape with her life after a fight with trans woman Fallon Fox left her with a smashed up face: "I’ve fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night."

Kyanite · 26/06/2018 21:38

Is this what they would do to a woman who looks at them the wrong way in a ladies' toilet and causes them to assume she is being phobic towards them?

R0wantrees · 26/06/2018 21:38

Petition currently stands at 12 239

"Consult with women on proposals to enshrine 'gender identity' in law
The government proposes to amend the law to allow people to self-identify as men or women, and to stop allowing organisations in sensitive situations to exclude people of the opposite birth sex. We call for women to be consulted on how to protect women and girls' rights, safety, privacy and dignity."
petition.parliament.uk/petitions/214118

As it reached 10 000 the government responded: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3269463-Government-response-to-the-petition

At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament

I've developed deep respect for you over the last few months Bewilderness but that comment is unfair and dismissive of me and what happened to me. I will go away now and come back later.

I watched a video of someone on the floor being kicked, and it brought it all back it always does.

I'm a gender critical radical feminist. Some men are on our wavelength, some women are nutcases.

NobodysMot · 26/06/2018 21:43

omg! That was horrendous.

BettyDuMonde · 26/06/2018 21:45

Probably not relevant to this particular incident but have the U.K. police been issued any guidelines re: identifying suspects through DNA?

It occurs to me that, especially in the case of unknown assailants, police could be looking for a man (according to traceDNA) but unaware that the suspect actually presents as a woman, is known as a women, and is legally registered with a woman’s name (and has documents declaring them to be ‘F’)

Kyanite · 26/06/2018 21:47

Very good point Betty!

Why should male violence be disguised in some imaginary third category that incorrectly connects their violence to a trans status that is virtually impossible to even define?

And why should transpeoples crimes get lost in the reporting? I agree that they are a subset of male crimes, but we're in danger of only recording crimes against transpeople and not the crimes they commit.

Bespin, I have not left the thread with animosity toward the bewilderness. So I don't want that misunderstood.

I understand her reasons for her not trusting me. That's fine. This is a hell of a mess and I am posting enough under my own name on Twitter so I am not invisible.

I certainly am not defending these people whatever they turn out to be. They should be exposed and prosecuted and the crime not recorded as female.

Not really any more to say as there is no credible argument against that position.

alarmedagain · 26/06/2018 22:21

We must be able to record sex and natal sex and trans status, not these fudged statistics that only allow the truth to be hidden.

We need the mental health profession, government, researchers and police to be brave and HONEST and help us look clearly at what is going on here.

I never thought I would grow up to live in Orwell's 1984.

Please do not target TheBewilderness

This has been a repeated occurance of late.

cf this thread when TheB was repeatedly goaded by a poster identified as a troll and banned the next day.

Second this.

Bespin · 26/06/2018 22:33

sorry homefromthehills if i have miss understood your post, i totally agree that this crime needs to be recorded correctly, i am interested why the police released that it was woman who did this if this is not the case. i would also like to make sure that if its men in drag then it is recorded as such if its trans woman than i will of course be at odd with people on here that think it should be recorded as male violance. but without knowing the people and how they define themselves or there legal status that aspect i would not like to say until some details are released on that.

Bespin · 26/06/2018 22:36

sorry R0wantrees, im not targetting people i was as confused as other posters as to why there posts would be seen as not on topic. anyway lets get back to the topic shall we.

Oh and do we have the usual suspects on here?

The epic derailers ???

Do we??

No

I fucking thought not...gutless, I'd be completely embarrassed

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 26/06/2018 22:47

alexa

Sorry that happened to you, very scary

AngryAttackKittens · 26/06/2018 22:51

And once more! Stop targeting bewilderness. We all see it happening and we're not going to just let it happen. GC women are quite capable of ironing out any disagreements among ourselves - we do not need you sticking your oar in.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 26/06/2018 22:57

And

Ive just given poor ds1 a lecture

He has just explained that 'my mum says you can't be mean to me' doesnt go well...but its tough tits
