Well MNHQ we have the start of the exodus. Posters leaving due to these new guidelines that throw women under the bus.

A poster has deleted their account today due to the upset and stress of getting a strike for saying something that is 100% true. We know it's true because TRA's posted it on Twitter themselves, yet we post it and it's kick off time at HQ

It's a fucking disgrace HQ WOMEN are your target audience yet you don't give a fucking shiny shit about us. Not a fucking shit and it stinks.

More and more women will leave and you will be left with nothing more than people who present as opposite to their birth sex sitting posting about heels, make-up, clothes and fucking knitting.

Good luck with that one.

Does anyone trust anything MNHQ says these days?

OP posts:
spontaneousgiventime · 25/06/2018 12:51

Well I got a strike for a post on this thread not the thread. Colour my shit shocked!

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 25/06/2018 12:52

I'm not sure they have even addressed people's worries about these shitty new guidelines! They are obviously just hoping the dust will settle.

welshmist · 25/06/2018 12:54

Has anyone thought it may be the advertisers complaining about things. Mumsnet belongs to the owner, it is their decision their income, they are responsible for people`s continued employment.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 25/06/2018 12:54

Mumsnet why don't you care that your actions are causing stress and anxiety for women who are already anxious about these people? Why are you allowing women to be treated like crap on a WOMEN'S SUPPORT SITE!?

BeyondFemaleElitist · 25/06/2018 12:54

Now now last, that isn't true - they posted that rather opaque update, what more do you want?

Pratchet · 25/06/2018 12:54

I know there's so much anger at HQ but I still have faith. I really do.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 25/06/2018 12:56

Right i think i might need to know where the new place is...just in case

I'll pm you spontaneous

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 25/06/2018 12:56

pratchet

Same here

spontaneousgiventime · 25/06/2018 12:58

No faith in HQ. I've just got a strike that shows me exactly where MN has nailed it's colours and believe me it aint with women.

welshmist · 25/06/2018 12:58

Just a thought the forum I modded on our owner stood absolutely firm about the way it was run, a lot of folk huffed off elsewhere when a new forum was set up. Just checked it now tis a sad shadow of the original forum. But horses for courses if you are happier on a quiet forum that fills your needs then that is your right. The original forum is thriving btw.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 25/06/2018 13:01

Lol did they Beyond? It must have been so insipid that I missed it!

spontaneousgiventime · 25/06/2018 13:01

Message deleted by MNHQ. Here's a link to our Talk Guidelines.

BeyondFemaleElitist · 25/06/2018 13:01

I'd have a hell of a lot more understanding for an owner "standing firm" than for one who flip flops all over the place, trying to please everyone and producing rules that people can't understand.

ScarletBegonias · 25/06/2018 13:01

spontaneous - you seem to have two deletions on this thread. (At least it was two when I started typing this. It may be more by now!)

Were the powers that be clear about whether the two deletions constituted one strike between them or one for each?

Just asking that question reinforces how bizarre all this now is Sad

SuperDandy · 25/06/2018 13:03

JuzzaL "How about for a start, only letting registered users report posts, and making sure those users that report are genuine and not just signed up purely to report?"

MNHQ already specifically covered this in their guidelines post. Vexatious reporting is being actively looked out for, and those who do it will be warned and then banned.

spontaneousgiventime · 25/06/2018 13:03

Possibly one deletion that's just a deletion and one that caused a strike. I only got one strike according to the email.

doctorcuntybollocks · 25/06/2018 13:06

I have no faith in HQ. I think they feel genuine horror and disgust towards us because of our unladylike behaviour.

BonjourMinou · 25/06/2018 13:09

I'm delurking to request a pm to the Other Place. Or at least if someone could let me know how to send a pm from the app, I've never done it before!

I read the FWR board daily, I just don't often post and I'm even less likely to now the guidelines are so strict but I'm in awe of those of you that have managed to explain the situation so clearly and patiently so many times. I think more people are reading and agreeing than you realise.

I feel sad because MN really opened my eyes to this debate and I worry that once people leave a lot of women will miss out on the excellent analysis here.

Also spontaneous I read this whole thread and I have absolutely no idea what you could have written that needed deleting. Confused

doctorcuntybollocks · 25/06/2018 13:12

HQ may flap their gums about vexatious reporting, but nearly all of the reporting on these issues is vexatious and it's coming from the acronymic side.

spontaneousgiventime · 25/06/2018 13:13

What I got a strike for was 'unladylike' and not 'inclusive' and I swore about people who present as opposite to their birth sex. I told HQ I stand by it and they have shown which flag they've nailed their colours too. Women second class citizens on MN folks.

MN didn't say it wasn't ladylike or un inclusive, I did and I don't care.

OP posts:
welshmist · 25/06/2018 13:14

I have to smile our forum owner banned swearing unless you specifically agreed you were happy to see it. Then it was under a spoiler which you had to click on to see. One rule... Do NOT disguise ANY profanities with asterisks, acronyms or initialisms for phrases; these will be edited. For example; WTF, FFS and STFU are totally unacceptable and will be subject to sanctions.

You have to remember Mumsnet is a business, there are volunteers who are having to read every blooming post... checking every complaint.

spontaneousgiventime · 25/06/2018 13:15

Welsh, you are wrong. MN moderation is report driven and we are allowed to fucking swear!

OP posts:
SuperDandy · 25/06/2018 13:17

Doctorcuntybollocks, do you have some basis for saying that beyond it just being what you think? You're stating it like it's a known fact to you. Can you say why at all?

Tiggerzz · 25/06/2018 13:19

Please can someone PM me a link to 'the other place'? i would hate to lose this group! Thanks
