Change My Mind Youtube Video

Quite interesting. A man takes to a US college campus to say "There are only two genders. Change my mind" and films people giving him the other side of the argument.

Brilliant video from a guy who doesn't believe there are more than 2 genders and who is discussing with people the issues that the current TRA stance causes. And guess what - the aggression comes from TRAs

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 17:39

Just starting to watch it. Oh the knots the first guy gets himself tied into - when he apologises for assuming the host has a penis. Bless

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 17:45

"what if I said I was a bobcat. Would you subscribe to that?"

"Yes I would" Grin

womanformallyknownaswoman · 23/06/2018 17:49

Yes, the first is an embarrassment in his critical thinking - but consistent in that he asserts there's no limit to the number of genders and when the administrative, as well as biological implications this has, are pointed out i.e. that's it's unworkable as well as unbelievable, plus that law then becomes a feeling, has no answer.

The second interviewee is painful - totally brainwashed I make up. And constantly interrupting and talking over whilst never once actually explaining anything rationally.

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 18:06

I wish he didn't interrupt the first non-binary person. At all. Because what "they" are saying trips "them" up enough. Then when "they" are struggling, to rescue them the other women interrupt him. which shows them up. A fascinating watch

Love his Intersex rebuttal

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 18:08

"The law defines an act of violence"

"No it doesn't"

PeakPants · 23/06/2018 18:09

Not watched all of this, but isn't this guy disputing that there is a difference between biological sex and gender as a social construct? He seems to be saying they are the same- you are feminine because of your biological sex. I disagree- I definitely think there is socially constructed gender. (And the guy comes across as a bit of a prick).

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 18:10

I cannot help noticing how the interrupter from the floor, who rushes in to rescue 'them' when they get stuck, refers to them as her

You couldn't make this stuff up

womanformallyknownaswoman · 23/06/2018 18:12

Watch how women onlookers intervene to try to rescue the volunteer interviewee and then later to actually verbally abuse and threaten the interviewer.

That's how you see the undue influence at play - the same dynamics are seen when a cult member is pinned down - other cult members get very aggressive in their interventions. The same dynamics when unhealthy family dynamics are exposed - the whistleblower is condemned.

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 18:17

i.e. misgenders them. Commits literal violence.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 23/06/2018 18:32

I like how the interviewer nails them for their assumption he's male - he's also very informed about the roots of transgender and intersectionality plus the administrative and governance contradictions it throws up - plus the unworkability of it.

It's a shame the women seem to be "God's Police" acting as agents of men to police the environment (have they got permission), his behaviour and words. One questions his right to be there - then another his right to hold the interview as he sees fit and lastly another his words - he's verbally abused and talked over incessantly by Madison.

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 18:33

Such uncritical acceptance of gender roles

Also, love the surprise of the black guy when told about the legal ramifications of identifying as trans

I wanted to talk to the non-binary woman about why she rejects womanhood. Because I understand that. I do. Something or someone hurt her

Lastly - the interviewer's demeanour towards the guy was different. Sexism, or simply that his back was up from the get-go
?

womanformallyknownaswoman · 23/06/2018 18:34

Oh and pronouns have no limits and are up to an individual to impose on everyone else!!

I love how he uses the example of identifying as a bobcat to illustrate the absurdity of the claims

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 18:37

By the way. I am typing as a watch

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 18:38

I watch

womanformallyknownaswoman · 23/06/2018 18:43

Good idea - I'm commenting from recent watching - I like the approach of that guy Steve Crowder - he's researched the topic and brings to light the unworkability and idiocy of it all. The fact that there's no rationale for it plus no general consent - just the assumptions and entitlement - so he's not criticising the adults who identify but the unworkability of what they espouse plus the risk to children. And he disputes successfully their claims of intersex and the other condition - it's like they are saying anyone who identifies has a condition - and that's not right either.

TransplantsArePlants · 23/06/2018 18:44

woman

It was really good. And I watched it with my sons who are a bit bored by me going on about it, but do 'get it'

thebewilderness · 23/06/2018 18:45

I wonder if they truly do believe that it is in some way progressive to change the term personality to gender identity and attach pronouns to each and every variation.
It seems very Tower of Babel to me.

FloralCup · 23/06/2018 18:49

I didn't like the way he conducted the interview - a bit too confrontational.
I think Louis Theroux could make a good documentary on the transgender topic.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 23/06/2018 18:49

TransplantsArePlants

Great you watched it with your sons because it's good for guys to see other guys pulling this apart.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 23/06/2018 19:01

It seems very Tower of Babel to me.

I watched a couple more of his videos - yes he's populist but he also highlights the willful blindness of the media towards the extremes of the SJWs. These are not nice people but dangerous in their extreme views and willingness to use arms to get their way.

He did a video back in 2015 where one of his crew identified as gender non conforming and went to a LGBT meeting identifying as a computer and they said people could address then with any pronoun as long as they didn't use Windows 2000 as that offended them as a MAC. It was very politically incorrect, crass and also drove home the point. It's now banned from multiple platforms. WTF!! What happened to free speech and humour? I feel coercively controlled by their doublethink and behaviour.

AncientLights · 23/06/2018 19:33

It had me laughing out loud in parts, especially the first man who was trying so hard to be considerate but got tied up in his own knots instead. Madison was a pain in the arse, with all their over-talking and illogicality - how can a 'crime' not be illegal???? Madison clearly stated their pronouns, but later a woman from the audience had a go at Steven for the way he'd treated Madison & called them 'her', this went unremarked by everyone, though Steven was taken to task for saying 'her' a bit later. I was puzzled to hear about this dr in the UK who is carrying out surgeries on kids: did I hear that right? An urban myth, surely, the same as I heard when I was in the US that you can have sex-selective abortions here in the UK - not legally you can't. Apart from that, he nailed them.

sanluca · 23/06/2018 20:14

Omg, the woman at the end! That is scary. Loved his comeback though.

WeAreGerbil · 23/06/2018 22:10

That was entertaining. I thought it was interesting that Madison was most concerned about trans women out of the LGBT community as according to her the rate of violence against them was highest.

Also "have you got your own security?" to the bloke at the end who was more gender critical / naive about the whole thing!

NaturalBornWoman · 24/06/2018 00:29

They all seemed to be saying gender is behaviour and a social construct. Although mostly they weren't particularly coherent, they all differentiated between sex and gender I think; nothing to support the 'is actually the opposite sex, has always been the opposite sex' idea. The last guy was actually talking about male and female role stereotypes. The others sound terribly confused and self obsessed. I hope they grow up and realise they've been used.
