I am a woman.

I was a girl.

I am an adult human female.

Something a man can never be.

I am a woman.

People refer to me has her and she.

Sometimes said with deep contempt and misogyny.

I am a woman.

Something a male will never be.

I have a vagina and uterus.

I menstruate and have given birth.

I am a mother.

Something a male will never be.

I have been insulted, assaulted, belittled, dismissed, held back, intimidated, stereotyped, terrorised, mocked, shamed, humiliated because I am a woman.

Something a male can never be.

I feel insulted, appropriated, offended, anxious, tense, depressed, hurt and under siege, when a male claims to be a woman or anyone says a male can be female.

It is not civil or respectful to treat me this way.

I am a woman.

I am Spartacus.

thebewilderness you're still here Smile mnhq must be scared of lang's riot plans

ALittleBitofVitriol · 14/06/2018 00:51

I am Spartacus. If anyone tells me to just be nice again I might scream. I'm done with nice.
It isn't nice to force your penis into women's spaces, bodies or definitions. When you insist on doing that, you look very rapey. Women see you and your red flag flying high.

I am Spartacus. I turned Spartacus when my female child, birthed from my female body, turned 11. And the world turned against her. The male world that saw her as prey. She didn't identify as a piece of meat, she didn't get a choice, just like I didn't. Just like all my sisters who have suffered and still suffer today.

A male person is male is male through and through. I don't care what you wear and I don't care what you do to your body and I don't care about your precious feelings

Battleax · 14/06/2018 01:00

I am Spartacus.

I will always be Spartacus.

I will die on this hill.

Me too. 2+2=4.

Maryz · 14/06/2018 01:10

I am Sparticus.

I am a woman.

I am for women and girls.

I have never been politically driven, never marched, seldom protested. But this is my line in the sand. I am female, a woman, with XY chromosomes and female biology. I have struggled through puberty, infertility, pregnancy, childbirth. I have lost jobs and lost friends because of my sex, and the limitations my body has given me.

I do not accept that male people, men, can take my rights away. I do not accept that male people know my struggles. I will not step aside and welcome them into women's hard-won spaces.

Men in women's sports are cheats. Men in women's prisons are threatening. Men in women's spaces are unwelcome.

No man, no matter what he calls himself, what he wears, what he believes, will ever be a woman. Full fucking stop.

Battleax · 14/06/2018 01:15

I think you mean “XX chromosomes” @MaryZ

R0wantrees · 14/06/2018 01:16

I am an adult human female
I was a girl
I had a total hysterectomy in my late 30's following a diagnosis of gynnacological cancer.
The cancer was diagnosed during treatment for infertility, likely caused by endometriosis.
I take a low dose of HRT to mitigate the potential risks associated with surgical menopause at my age.
I am not a mother, but a very proud auntie to both girls and boys.
I am a woman and sex matters.

Somethingsfallendown · 14/06/2018 01:16

Men are men. Women are women. Men can dress like a woman take hormones hsve surgery to emulate a woman but you are not a woman. I am Spartacus.

Datun · 14/06/2018 01:18

Bloody hell this is awesome. More and more women. Writing reams. Because they totally get it. Who are angry.

The person who said censorship radicalises people nailed it.

I'm Sparticus.

Maryz · 14/06/2018 01:22

Whoops Blush Battleax.

Grin

You'd think I could spell Spartacus by now as well, wouldn't you, the number of times I've used it!

Battleax · 14/06/2018 01:23

You know what’s really making me angry now? The bien pensant atmosphere in Westminster that allows lobbying from a minuscule minority of science-deniers to trump democracy.

Most people grasp biological fact extremely well and they won’t support this either. Even the DM comments section is awash with people who get it. So where’s the representation?

Battleax · 14/06/2018 01:24

Meh, you’re pulling the night shift Wink

Datun · 14/06/2018 01:28

I looked at it loads and changed the spelling ! Even defying auto correct.

Must be the mood I'm in...

Maryz · 14/06/2018 01:30

Yep, I don't know a single person irl who actually thinks a man can become a woman. Nor do I know a single person irl who thinks that a rapist with a fully functioning penis should be allowed in a women's prison. Or a man should be allowed to compete in a women's sporting event.

Yet we are all being gaslighted into saying "yes dear, you are a woman because you say so".

It's ridiculous. And simultaneously quite scary.

catkind · 14/06/2018 01:48

According to my dictionary a woman is an adult human biological female. I am one. A MtF transgender individual is not one.

It's notable that with all the words thrown around, the trans movement have yet to come up with an alternative non-circular definition of the word woman.

Haven't got anything original to say on the subject but just wanted to stick my head up and say I'm here.

AtreidesFreeWoman · 14/06/2018 02:12

I am Spartacus.

I am angry that some men feel able to appropriate womanhood.

I think feminism is about women, not about people who want to be "recognised" as women.

It is not possible to change sex.

I don't even like the word transition in this context as it implies a metamorphosis is achievable. Personally I'd be happier using impersonation or pretending.

I'll never use preferred pronouns for a man found guilty of sex offences and/or murder.

thebewilderness · 14/06/2018 02:22

You should have seen the shit hit the fan when I joined tumblr and said no males, no female impersonators or cosplayers. My page, my boundaries and the porn spam poured in by the boatloads.
It reminded me of how the MRAs used to join Feminist forums and flood them with porn shots in the middle of the night not so very long ago.

NaturalBornWoman · 14/06/2018 03:26

I am a woman. I am a feminist. The first time I remember being sexually objectified I was an 11 year old child. I was raped within marriage before it was a crime. It wasn't even grounds for a divorce. I will never call a male she or her. Ever. I will not stand by and allow males to appropriate my humanity.

I am Spartacus.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 14/06/2018 05:50

I am Spartacus

I will not be party to harming women - MN is now abusing women by their moderation rules, like Twitter and FB so they are in good company/s, by using coercion and sanctions to enforce unnatural and untoward speech and behaviour that undermine a woman's freedom of speech plus her autonomy - this is thought reform, not moderation.

Coercive control is a pattern of behaviour which seeks to take away the victim’s liberty or freedom, to strip away their sense of self. It is not just women’s bodily integrity which is violated but also their human rights.

MNHQ is using the protected characteristic of gender reassignment to discriminate against the sex based protection women are entitled to.

Did your attorneys actually ok throwing women's rights and free speech under the bus to accommodate abusive males?

This!!

Terfulike · 14/06/2018 06:01

I am a woman.
I am a mother.
Both have meaning.

Men can't be women.
Their bodies are not designed to be womanly.
Men can't be mothers.
Their bodies are not designed to be maternal.

I will not call someone with a penis and descended testicles a woman.
I will not call those who seek penectomy and orchiectomy of their descended testicles a woman.

I will fight against the sterilisation of a generation of butch lesbians and effeminate homosexuals.

I will fight against the sterilisation of our language.

I am Spartacus.

exLtEveDallas · 14/06/2018 06:14

I am Spartacus

There are few hills that I would die on, but for me, for my daughter, for my mum and my sisters, for my female friends and my relatives, this is one.

I also support the men, the actual men, who are as bamboozled by this as we are. The decent men who can see we are being targeted and are trying to help. They can be Spartacus too.

Whether I am wearing combats and boots, trackies and trainers or a fucking cocktail dress and heels I am still a woman and still Spartacus. Uncle Tim in his babydoll nightie isn't.

My female body, wrecked from years of abuse because is female inside and out, was born female and will die female and I will never stop saying that.

I am Spartacus forever.

ApocalypseNowt · 14/06/2018 06:22

I am Spartacus.

Proud to stand with all these brilliant women. Actual women. Not men.

Sex matters.

DixieFlatline · 14/06/2018 06:23

I am Spartacus.

I will not be bullied, coerced, forced to deny reality.

Make no mistake, the core of this is a backlash against women, nothing more, nothing less.

Hold your ground!

Agrona · 14/06/2018 06:23

I am Spartacus.

I post rarely but am astounded by the intelligent and knowledgeable women on this site.

I am saddened that this place of (relative) sanity may silence the voices of women voicing legitimate concerns regarding their rights.

Facts are more important than fiction.

frenchfancy · 14/06/2018 06:34

I am Spartacus. My DH is also Spartacus. He has daughters. Girls with xx chromosomes. He wants them to do sport and compete against other girls. He wants them to go into dorms and changing rooms with other girls. He wants their right to be counted for healthcare needs with other girls.

Cuntysnark · 14/06/2018 06:45

I am Spartacus.
