I am a woman.

I was a girl.

I am an adult human female.

Something a man can never be.

I am a woman.

People refer to me has her and she.

Sometimes said with deep contempt and misogyny.

I am a woman.

Something a male will never be.

I have a vagina and uterus.

I menstruate and have given birth.

I am a mother.

Something a male will never be.

I have been insulted, assaulted, belittled, dismissed, held back, intimidated, stereotyped, terrorised, mocked, shamed, humiliated because I am a woman.

Something a male can never be.

I feel insulted, appropriated, offended, anxious, tense, depressed, hurt and under siege, when a male claims to be a woman or anyone says a male can be female.

It is not civil or respectful to treat me this way.

I am a woman.

I am Spartacus.

Angry

I also think you could look at Magdelen Berns' (gender-critical lesbian) videos critiquing what Trans rights activist are saying.

Ereshkigal · 16/06/2018 10:54

One thing I would like to also be able to share, in case anyone has an suggestion, would be a blog or article(s) by one or two of the more influential activists who have had most success in arguing for the unabridged right of any male who self-declares as a woman to enter female-only spaces, female-only sporting competitions, etc. This will be even better if said activist has also spoken on YouTube. My perspective is that such individuals are more effective than anyone else at undermining their own case. Some of their goading of other posters on this site helped to push me over the line in wanting to take action.

Riley J Dennis, Jane Fae, Katelyn Burns, Shon Faye. And many more. Action for Trans Health have a "manifesto" that you may or may not have seen.

edinburghath.tumblr.com/post/163521055802/trans-health-manifesto

It's a jawdropping set of narcissistic demands.

TransplantsArePlants · 16/06/2018 10:55

... they are very accessible. Funny a lot of the time. MB continues to speak up despite having been the victim of a random attack in the street by a man.

Ereshkigal · 16/06/2018 10:57

Most recently at the event last week in London.

TimeLady · 16/06/2018 10:59

I love the Magdelen videos but I'm not sure they're they best way to communicate the issue initially to men.

TransplantsArePlants · 16/06/2018 11:01

And if you want to reassure your friends that they are not being transphobic to question self-ID, you could signpost to GC trans women like Rose of Dawn

I am sure others can link to more

AngryAttackKittens · 16/06/2018 11:04

Riley Dennis's videos on how it's transphobic not to be interested in sex with a person who identifies as the "gender" you're attracted to (people are actually attracted to sex, not gender, but obviously Riley refuses to accept this) seem to be exceptionally good at bringing the absurdity of things into focus for a lot of men.

Anyone have a direct link to the first one where Riley made the "it's like racism!" argument, and then the follow-up video Riley made after half of YouTube posted "get tae fuck!" responses?

TransplantsArePlants · 16/06/2018 11:04

Time

Maybe

My DH and DSs 'got' them straightaway. Mind you, they've had me banging away at them for a while..

There was a really goos video linked a while back with an American endocrinologist (I think) talking to a sports radio host in the US about transwomen in sports

We need R0wan the walking spreadsheet to help us

TimeLady · 16/06/2018 11:23

The men I know wouldn't be receptive to activist input from either side in the first instance. They'd dismiss it as exaggerated bollocks.

TransplantsArePlants · 16/06/2018 11:39

Yes. I can see that

For those men, the sports angle is more powerful

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 16/06/2018 11:51

My DSs, DBs and DF all have no time for trans bollocks. Both DBs, when alerted to potential changes to the law, were totally horrified and worked out immediately how this harmed the interests of women and girls

DS2 initially tried to tell me I was perhaps a little old fashioned but he's very keen on facts so I produced some and had no problems persuading him.

I think sport may be a tipping point for some men. Including MtF in women's sports is so blatantly unfair.

AngryFatherNow

Ereshkigal's list is very good.

You might also be interested to know that Jane Faye, before they became a transactivist, was an extreme pornography activist.

Promoting it and campaigning to lower the age of the participants.

Shon Faye has told women to 'enjoy their erasure' and their advice to youngsters is 'suck dick, get tits early'.

With regards to you speculating as to why women aren't making more headway with their protest, I urge you to read this from Fairplay for women.

fairplayforwomen.com/misogyny_hate_silencing/

And a lot more has happened since then.

I completely agree that many transactivists are their own worse enemy - narcissism makes some of them completely blind. (I'm not generalising, HQ).

#transgirls and #girlslikeus will give you an insight into the fetishistic men who are trans.

And finally, the manifesto for Action for Trans Health mentioned above? They were publicly approving of the beating of Maria Mac at speakers corner (the perpetrator has since been convicted).

They think all trans people should be taught surgery so they can operate on each other and that trans prisoners should be released - all of them.

It might interest to know that they were also consulted by parliament over the proposals to change the gender recognition act.

This is what women are up against.

Kettlepotblackagain · 16/06/2018 11:59

They think all trans people should be taught surgery so they can operate on each other

Fucking bollocksy shitting hell of all the fucks in the shitting Universe.

I just don't know what to say anymore. The revelations get better and better...beam me up Scotty

TimeLady · 16/06/2018 12:08

I agree that sport is probably the best way to introduce this to your average bloke. Even the usual MN transapologists couldn't produce a defence of this last week:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3271449-In-Connecticut-two-teenage-boys-who-identify-as-girls-have-come-1st-and-2nd-in-the-girls-100m-sprint

AngryAttackKittens · 16/06/2018 12:14

The "we demand the right to do surgery on each other" thing...surely that falls into the category of sometimes you have to protect people from themselves even if they really, really strongly object to your doing so?

What you don't then do is go "oh, we're putting together a policy on how to handle X issue to do with trans people, let's include that person's thoughts on the issue and take them into account". And yet people who really ought to know better seem to just sort of pretend they didn't read that part and continue acting as if this was a rational person whose input might be useful.

LangCleg · 16/06/2018 12:31

Fucking bollocksy shitting hell of all the fucks in the shitting Universe.

Oh fuck me, this is why I love Mumsnet!

Fifty thousand posts arguing about CIS, TERF, TIM, TIF, [THAT WORD I'LL DIE ON A HILL BEFORE I EVER USE], correct pronouns, and all the rest of it.

But nothing ever stops us swearing.

So I'm going to say shitfuckpisswankcuntandbollocks just for the sheer joy of it!

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 16/06/2018 12:36

I think an inarticulate scream of outrage is all I can manage at the minute

Something like:

GRAAAAHAAARRRGHHHH

MsMcWoodle · 16/06/2018 12:42

Thanks so much AngryFatherNow.
Really appreciate some support from men.
We are really up against it because we are dealing with people who have HUGE amounts of money to back their agenda. Think, for example, of the medical interests at play here.
We are getting by on crowdfunding.
It's a really unfair fight.

ElenOfTheWays · 16/06/2018 12:54

Just wanted to add my voice to the throng. I mostly lurk, post occasionally and I have learned a lot from this forum. It's a fact that without mumsnet I wouldn't have had a clue all this was even happening and I am now enraged. Please don't go. Passersby like me need you to stay.

Like others, I have been raped, assaulted, victimised, marginalised and belittled because of my biology.

Something NO man can understand, whatever he's wearing.
I have more in common with every single woman on this earth whether she be a six ft, shaven headed, tattooed biker or (like me) a 5ft2in long haired, makeup wearing arty type.

A man could have extensive surgery and look externally just like me, he still won't be me though. Biker woman will still be more like me than him.
To me, this is obvious.

I am Spartacus. We deserve better than this

ErrolTheDragon · 16/06/2018 12:59

Have we offered AngryFather the petition link to share?

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/214118

It's specifically asking for women to be consulted because women are most likely to be negatively impacted by ill-considered self-ID.

Ereshkigal · 16/06/2018 13:01

For both AngryAttackKittens and AngryFather!

AngryAttackKittens · 16/06/2018 13:09

Thanks!

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 16/06/2018 13:18

Elenoftheways, when you say:

It's a fact that without mumsnet I wouldn't have had a clue all this was even happening and I am now enraged.

You sum up the exact reason activists are targeting Mumsnet. They are trying to change the law almost in secret, but can only promote their agenda while most people have no idea of the facts. Silencing, including threats and violence has to be their mode of operation because they cannot afford open debate.
