I am a woman.

I was a girl.

I am an adult human female.

Something a man can never be.

I am a woman.

People refer to me has her and she.

Sometimes said with deep contempt and misogyny.

I am a woman.

Something a male will never be.

I have a vagina and uterus.

I menstruate and have given birth.

I am a mother.

Something a male will never be.

I have been insulted, assaulted, belittled, dismissed, held back, intimidated, stereotyped, terrorised, mocked, shamed, humiliated because I am a woman.

Something a male can never be.

I feel insulted, appropriated, offended, anxious, tense, depressed, hurt and under siege, when a male claims to be a woman or anyone says a male can be female.

It is not civil or respectful to treat me this way.

I am a woman.

I am Spartacus.

Who was Spartacus?

I have just googled him.

I thought this thread couldn't get any funnier (I will not die on this hill etc).

Spartacus was a man. You cannot be Spartacus. Unless you transition.

But thank you for a hilarious lunch hour.

RatRolyPoly · 14/06/2018 13:17

FFS game over, this is getting silly now.

Hyppolyta · 14/06/2018 13:17

I am Spartacus.

Spartacus did not give a flying fuck about societies stereotypes.

Spartacus knew wearing a skirt didnt make him a woman then, and it hasnt made the actors playing him women, either.

Can I just say how brilliant it is to see so many delurking and so many new usernames posting.

Gin for you all. But this hill isnt going to be big enough, we need a mountain.

chickenpox - that's why I like Mumsnet and keep coming back.

Pratchet · 14/06/2018 13:18

Typical. Obviously you are forced to agree, you don't like it so you call time. Give over.

RatRolyPoly · 14/06/2018 13:20

Well I don't agree, but you will insist that you have forced me (even though I don't) so what more can I do?

Ucantarguewistupid · 14/06/2018 13:22

If they shut down this section we just do what the aggressive, militant vocal minority do. Take our argument, our cause, our defence to the other sections. Works for them.... .

Pratchet · 14/06/2018 13:25

You don't agree that the sex of a person who uses women's spaces is relevant? Mkay

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 14/06/2018 13:26

Who was Spartacus?

Spartacus was a man.

Really?! Fuck, who knew?!

Only everyone here Hmm

Hyppolyta · 14/06/2018 13:29

I will not die on this hill etc

I will die on this hill, you mean. If you're going to mock, at least be correct in your mockery.

therealposieparker · 14/06/2018 13:31

I am Posie Parker

Women do not have penises

There is no such thing as sex change

Big Pharma and sinister forces are work here.

Fetishes are extraordinarily strong and can compel people to go to extraordinary lengths to satisfy them.

LaSqrrl · 14/06/2018 13:31

I am a female (biological sex description)
I am a woman (a definition based upon the status of adult human female, a biological sex description)

I have no 'gender', or at least, any supposed 'gender' (role) that will be forced upon me.

Anyone that puts 'trans' before the descriptor is not the descriptor at all, but a wannabe.

Ucantarguewistupid · 14/06/2018 13:34

Oh and to make clear.

Men cannot ever become women.

That is fact not hate.

White people cane never become Black. Fact not hate.

Black people can never become Caucasian- fact not hate.

A dog can never become human, fact not hate.

Humans can never become dogs, fact not hate

I am a women. I was born female and have the chromosomes to prove it. Anyone else without these chromosomes is not nor ever can be female. I sympathise that this may be an upsetting fact for some but that should never be reason to deprive me of my identity, safe spaces, role in sports and work and right to free speech.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 14/06/2018 13:37

Ah shite, the Pythons are all male too. Nothing else for it, I’ll have to transition now

flowersonthepiano · 14/06/2018 13:37

I will continue to chat with the wonderful women of MN FWR for as long as they remain standing. I haven't been deleted much for mentioning sex in a non-derogatory way up to now, let's hope that continues.

It does feel somewhat hunger games around here at the moment....

Pratchet · 14/06/2018 13:40

Spartacus was a man

Does the person saying this know what a man is tho

ToeToToe · 14/06/2018 13:41

Is it time for this again? Yes, we know Monty Python are men.

Can we say Jehovah still? Wink

chicklingpixies · 14/06/2018 13:43

I don’t post that often but am joining in the fun!
Since my menarche at 11 years old I have been ovulating/menstruating/gestating/lactating and I will do so until menopause (barring health conditions/interventions or accidents) and I still don’t know what it feels like to be a woman. I just am one. Gender is bunk. Men cannot become women. I am Spartacus.

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 14/06/2018 13:54

Ignore if incorrect: Paris Lees was on Question Time as a woman on the panel. Therefore taking up a space in an industry that notoriously doesn’t have enough visibility for women. I’d say that makes Paris Lees biological and legal status as a man relevant

Ignore if incorrect

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 14/06/2018 13:55

Also ignore if you think that invisibility of women isn’t that important

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 14/06/2018 13:57

ToeToToe

Splitter!

Do we really know that Spartacus and the Pythons were/are men, though? Have they ever confirmed their inate sense of gender? Awfully presumptive of me to assume their identities based on what appears to be their biological sex
