www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5825085/Sadistic-transgender-killer-Paris-Green-set-20-000-sex-change-operation.html

The Mail has the beef on 'Paris Green'.

The salient facts, beyond the foaming about the sex change op.

In the meantime my child is on a two year waiting list to be seen.

While people die of cancer because you’re only ‘allowed’ a certain amount of chemo.

This makes my blood boil - why are they enabling this guy's delusion?

Do they not realise that psychopaths don't feel so it's nothing for them to have a sex change operation - if it gets them access to women and children - especially vulnerable ones……

Why is the prison service bankrolling convicted male offenders - many of whom are murderers and rapists? Why is the prison service enabling their offending to continue in prison?

R0wantrees · 10/06/2018 08:21

I think significant precedents for how prisoners identify as trans women were set by the case relating to Karen Jones.

And they can’t find a bed for my elderly mum after a life she spent caring for others. My dad is crying all the time.

Popchyk · 10/06/2018 09:51

Has anyone even totted up how much this is going to cost us?

So 650, 000 transgender people in the UK according to Maria Miller. If 10% of them have SRS then that is 65, 000.

So that's about 20K per person and then hormones for life on top of that presumably? What about face feminisation surgery? Is that free on the NHS? What about voice feminisation surgery? Is that free on the NHS?

Presumably there will be a larger proportion of men who want an operation to create breasts but want to keep their penis. So that will be cheaper. Thanks guys.

And some women will want a double mastectomy and some sort of penis construction. I can't imagine that is cheap either. And then testosterone for life? And again, some women won't want full SRS but want some surgery.

Not to mention further operations to put things right when they go wrong. Or if, like John Pilley, the first transgender person to get SRS in prison. And then decided afterwards that he wasn't a woman after all, so he got further SRS surgery to try to make him a man again.

And of course prisoners aren't paying any tax to fund this. And I suspect few of them paid any tax before they went into prison. And no employer will take on a convicted murderer when they get out, so not much likelihood of paying tax afterwards.

Can't help but feel that we'd have much fewer people identifying as the opposite sex if they had to pay their own surgical and medical bills.

UpstartCrow · 10/06/2018 10:06

As transitioning erases your past history, its crazy to allow violent offenders to change sex.

borntobequiet · 10/06/2018 10:07

There is currently a thread on here describing how difficult it is for some women with breasts so large they cause severe back problems to obtain breast reduction surgery.

lapenguin · 10/06/2018 10:11

Surely if you go to prison for something as serious as murder then you should not be allowed this?! You can't take away someone's life and expect people to fund an operation to make yours better for you???
I just can't get over how broken and corrupt our country must be to allow this.
Also if he stopped taking his hormone tablets and started growing facial hair then surely he's shown he's not committed. Also if he's having sex in women's prisons he should be sent to a male prison as he effectively has male parts.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 10/06/2018 10:18

Absolutely this.

SoaringSwallow · 10/06/2018 10:38

They should be allowed the operation AFTER their term is served. They should have the choice of local biological sex prison or a centralised trans one. There isn't even funds for adequate mental health support Lo g term for the victims of crime. The perpetrators shouldn't be having their lives improved while they're in prison. They should be treated humanely, well, etc, prisons generally should be better funded and safer, but these prisoners should not be given so much extra support when those they've caused to suffer don't get it.

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 10/06/2018 10:43

I wish more money would be put into providing mental health services. I have a feeling that 10 birds could be hit with one stone if we had great mental health provisions.

TransplantsArePlants · 10/06/2018 10:46

Captain

I agree

Along with social services and education.

terfinginthevoid · 10/06/2018 11:02

Since when was it a 'human right' to have your penis turned inside out?

The NHS should only fund evidence based and medically necessary procedures. 'Feeling like a woman' is not a medical condition, and there should be no NHS treatment provided for it. If you have actual gender dysphoria, causing severe distress, then if, and only if, you cannot be reconciled to your physical body after extensive psychotherapy, there may be a case for cosmetic treatment to relieve the distress.

I agree Captain, mental health services are currently tragically underfunded, and that is where the money should be going.

CountFosco · 10/06/2018 11:10

Is anyone else wondering if he knew he was giving himself the name of a toxic compound?

What is scary is that only the DailyFail seem to be reporting on this. I'm sure a lot of people will overlook it because it's only reported in the Mail.

GeordieTerf · 10/06/2018 11:14

If they were "male" when they committed their crimes, then they should have to serve their sentence as a man.

Only criminals who were already living as another gender before their crime should be considered as trans prisoners. But even then, they must never be allowed in a prison different from their biological sex. No exceptions.

GeordieTerf · 10/06/2018 11:17

From the DM comments, it's clear that most people are not entertaining any of this, which is heartening. Smile

drinkswineoutofamug · 10/06/2018 11:33

Makes my piss boil Angry my daughter is in prison and can't even get basic healthcare for her epilepsy.

Ereshkigal · 10/06/2018 11:44

Christ. Reading what Paris Green did to that poor man. This was not a brawl that went wrong for anyone not wanting to read the DM article.

SoaringSwallow · 10/06/2018 11:58

@drinkswineoutofamug I am not sure if you've posted about your daughter before on MN in the run up to her going to prison. If not, my apologies. I was thinking of the case where a mumsnetter has a daughter in prison with epilepsy who was not being medicated properly (at all?) in part because of funding/rediagnosing/bureaucracy issues. I don't understand how suddenly someone comes along and says they're trans and they get doors opened because of their human tights. Basic healthcare is a basic human right and as long as the general prison population don't have access to proper and adequate medical care, then GRS shouldn't even feature for prisoners.

SameTerfDifferentUserName · 10/06/2018 12:00

I wish more money would be put into providing mental health services. I have a feeling that 10 birds could be hit with one stone if we had great mental health provisions.

Could not agree more.

drinkswineoutofamug · 10/06/2018 12:16

@SoaringSwallow yes that's me. The idiot is back inside. And yet again her basic medical needs aren't been met. They threw away her epilepsy meds that the police had given her in custody. But because it was a Friday they couldn't/ wouldn't get a doctor in to prescribe said meds. She is fitting for fun, had 4 yesterday while we visited . They are giving her the meds at 8am and 3pm instead of 12 hours apart. Keppra has a 6-8 dosage life so 17 hours between 'afternoon' dose and morning is not controlling her seizure. Yet this man is getting his balls chopped off for free! 🤬
Sorry to derail the thread

MipMipMip · 10/06/2018 12:22

What a world we live in.

Dropdeadfredra · 10/06/2018 12:27

So I can't get my tubes tied because there isn't enough money in the NHS pot but i could get the whole lot removed?

terfinginthevoid · 10/06/2018 12:33

drinkswineoutofamug, that is appalling, I am so sorry.
