Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

I've had an idea

Feminists have already proved that they want to be called men by showing up at a pool and in their own words (identifying as male)

Woman claim that other woman are men when they are not and call them offensive things

Men and anyone else should have the right to refer to you on MN as men without having such posts removes or without facing discipline

I will refer to you as male from now on, if this isn't allowed then it's discrimination and I will file a case of discrimination to MN

Do what you like, dude.

I have ovaries of steel.

multivac · 05/06/2018 13:52

I am lunching myself in the face right now as it happens...

BubbleBlowingBaby · 05/06/2018 13:52

I guess that our total nonchalance will prove to you that misgendering is nothing more than words. Not violence, erasure, genocide etc.

Go ahead. Call us whatever you like.

ChickenMe · 05/06/2018 13:52

This is fun don't remove it!

My name, shortened, is unisex
So I've been written to as Mr.
As I am female I'm not bothered.

It seems like the only people who are bothered about being misSEXED are those who know they aren't actually the opposite sex. And if you're male but saying you're female you are misSEXing yourself so hand yourself in at the local cop shop for a hate crime against yourself

I have already lunched myself

But i am tempted to do it again

I might just wait til tea time

AsAProfessionalFekko · 05/06/2018 13:53

Some male bodied personages have physically/verbally attacked women, threatened them or launched campaignes to get them sacked (or post their addresses so that their little friends can offer to pay them a visit) for doing just this (as well you know, you naughty troll). Or they join mumsnet to take the piss (and get a rise for twitter bait).

They don't often threaten or attack men though. Why is that?

AngryAttackKittens · 05/06/2018 13:53

Is lunching someone in the face serving them a sandwich by holding it up directly in front of their mouth? Seems a bit pushy, honestly.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/06/2018 13:53

chicken

Ooh my name is unisex (less so nowadays to be fair)

J4nice · 05/06/2018 13:55

@hackmum

One of the funny things about this is the idea that we'd mind. Who cares? Not everyone thinks that "misgendering" is "literal violence". Some of us have other concerns, such as domestic violence (you know, the physical kind), sexual assault, lack of equal pay, being denied career opportunities open to men, emotional abuse, absence of affordable childcare, all sorts of stuff, really. The only people who have tantrums about "misgendering" are those wholiterallyhave nothing else to worry about.

I think equal pay should be done on a case by case basis and left up to the employer

I am happy with less pay so I don't see the problem

OP posts:
AsAProfessionalFekko · 05/06/2018 13:56

Noone is happy with less pay.

ChickenMe · 05/06/2018 13:56

Rufus
We need to reclaim unisex-I refuse to use gender neutral

So what's that got to do with a woman like me asking if it's an ok idea to call you male ?

Just wondering

KittyPerry77 · 05/06/2018 13:57

Just proved you'll never be a woman with your opening post mate. Those sort of amazingly insightful "thoughts" can never come out of a lowly ladybrain.

J4nice · 05/06/2018 13:58

@AsAProfessionalFekko I am because men are the main bread winners and they burn up more energy and have to do hard labour so it's only fair they get more money to support them in their endeavours

OP posts:
Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/06/2018 13:59

I agree chicken

Although unisex does seem to be male Sad

AngryAttackKittens · 05/06/2018 13:59

Actually I've decided that I'd like to be called "your feline majesty", but only by Janice.

Wtfisthis11 · 05/06/2018 13:59

Does that mean I can 'manspread' all over the thread? Or 'mansplain' every point OP makes back at them (because obviously I know better Grin) What else can I do with my newfound manliness?

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/06/2018 14:00

My husband does not in any way shape or form do hard labour Grin

diddlemethis · 05/06/2018 14:00

J4nice, have the school holidays started already for you, or are you bunking off?

scurryfunge · 05/06/2018 14:00

I think lunching someone in the face has French origins. A typical French lunch would include some bread. French for bread is pain.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/06/2018 14:00

wtf

You can wee standing up

Writersblock2 · 05/06/2018 14:01

Pfft. We shall be here still fighting long after you get bored.

AngryAttackKittens · 05/06/2018 14:02

DH was saying he felt like he should get more exercise last night, will have to inform him that he already burns up more energy during the hard labour that he presumably does without anyone noticing.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 05/06/2018 14:02

If you use ^^ you get italic then you can cut and paste as much as you like and it makes more sense.

The comment was relevant because you said you would purposely go about misgendering people and this is what has happened to people who have been accused of doing so (rightly) in the real world.

Are you a woman or man? Are you just on here to use the Playbook?

Trolls aint what they used to be,
