Up North would be a good place and the WPUK event in Newcastle went down a storm. The few people outside of the building who were against the event were students and not aggressive, merely uninformed and naive.

HelpTheTigers WPUK go places by invitation, if you want them up North, invite them!

(I'm not sure how WNTT chose locations).

I go to places I'm invited to as well but it's expensive organising meetings out of London because I have to pay for travel and accommodation for myself and the speakers - most of these events don't even break even unfortunately

Sounds good, sadly I started posting here after the Scottish ones had been but watching the video is good, even had my son watching some of it last time. Sheila on Yogyakarta will be good, although it's what we can actually do about it that needs stressed and being an international thing what are other countries doing. Suspect a lot just ignore it.

@drradfem I like your pricing structure, all events should be priced like that!

I will be very happy to help out in any way that I can, if there are any events proposed for the North East. If there is anything that I can do, please PM me even though I'm pretty useless, I will step up to the mark and do my bit.

Hopefully we will have a feminist group organised here soon, which will be real progress,

Would asking for accommodation be an option OP? There are probably quite a few people who would be very happy to provide free accom or a free holiday home use (!) to you and your speakers. Just a thought, hopefully not too much of a dim one.

For me to attend in London I would have to pay for travel and due to the late end accommodation.

I'd happily donate towards your costs and I can even offer a spare bed if you were to travel further North.

I'm Wolverhampton but Birmingham has excellent travel links; air, train, coach, bus and tram.

Manchester is also well served by public transport and there must be other options further north.
