@LangCleg When it comes to the hairy chest, I believe the phrase is “model’s own”...

LangCleg · 30/05/2018 20:29

LOL!

Pratchet · 30/05/2018 20:30

Am so in love with MN feminists. Very serious subject yet always time for critical appraisal of a selection of crochet beards. StarGrin

spontaneousgiventime · 30/05/2018 20:32

Also the very careful and considered decision on which mankini Pratchet Grin

thebewilderness · 30/05/2018 20:43

"What is crucial is that all trans people can live their lives authentically"

As someone they are not. That is the Orwellian bit, or perhaps the Humpty Dumpty bit. Authentic now means the illusion of the thing and not the thing itself. Rather like empowerment, eh?

BettyBaggins · 30/05/2018 20:46

Lang, great find, I want the nude one with the furry belly, can someone crochet me some belly button fluff? Grin

MipMipMip · 30/05/2018 20:55

Please, someone needs to identify as Prince Harry.

Pratchet · 30/05/2018 21:11

Ah the mankini. Be still my beating heart ❤️

SwearyG · 30/05/2018 22:07

Oh God I hate that Prince Harry swimsuit. It gives me bad dreams.

On Nick Ferrari's LBC breakfast show tomorrow morning at 8:30. Do tune in.

Good luck!

Especially with Nick Ferrari...Blush

SwearyG · 30/05/2018 22:21

He can’t be worse than James O’Brien surely?

Man, 49, with a penis and make up complaining he can't go into a woman's gym. He won't fell safe in a male changing room. Clearly no shits for what the women think when he rocks up.

kettlepotblack · 30/05/2018 22:29

Ha...I love James O B, but he'll smash you down if he can, granted!
Same with NF - I often found him so condescending and obnoxious especially to feminist, left leaning types- stopped listening to him a while ago. However I have a feeling he might be with you on this one!
I'll be tuning in - fantastic that you have this coverage and from the articulate and calm ladies I've heard so far, you'll be amazing!

boatyardblues · 30/05/2018 22:30

That’s an unusual spelling of Penelope.

Ooh!

It’s taken a while to work through this thread but fabulous work #manfriday

womanformallyknownaswoman · 31/05/2018 01:17

Jane Fae never brings a real argument to these things. Just long sighs, long winded patronising (dare I call this mansplaining? It is what it is!), and long diversions from the topic. All in Fae's ridiculous and skin crawlingly offensive attempt at ladyvoice.

Fae's whole tactic is to try and confuse listeners out of listening or forming an opinion, and to use misogyny as a tool to discredit women on the opposing side - his whole schtick screams of "calm down dear, don't interrupt when the men are speaking dear, don't worry your little head about it dear"

I'll repeat the comment again as it's so accurate - you're hurting people you're hurting people-... that's the whole argument - presumably cos feelings

And of course it's gas lighting and verbal abusive to put words in someone else's mouth

Well done Amy you came across clear and concise whereas Jane was, breathily, saying well those people in prisons are criminals so maybe ....

Yeah right - they are a captive audience who have no right of reply - the problem I have is those who play wolf in plain sight

Ereshkigal · 31/05/2018 01:30

I'll repeat the comment again as it's so accurate - you're hurting people you're hurting people-... that's the whole argument - presumably cos feelings

But the likes of Fae don't care if their demands hurt women.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 31/05/2018 04:12

Thx Ereshkigal for picking up that typing blunder Blush - the phrase I'll repeat the comment again as it's so accurate should have been before the quote above made by JoanSummers.

I can see how it doesn't make sense as it is - need an edit function!!

My point is the only argument Fae has is you're hurting people - cos their feelings are hurt when the focus is taken off them and onto women and children's rights and safeguarding. That's the gas lighting designed to confuse the listener/onlooker - crying wolf in other words.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 31/05/2018 04:13

I think the pictures of those mankinis had thrown me :)

thebewilderness · 31/05/2018 04:19

DARVO definition from someone here a few weeks ago: "He's not hurting you; you're hurting him by saying he's hurting you."

womanformallyknownaswoman · 31/05/2018 04:34

"He's not hurting you; you're hurting him by saying he's hurting you."

My head literally hurt after reading that - is that literal violence?

thebewilderness · 31/05/2018 05:00

That is the song of the narcissist. You hear it every time Shon Fae whoozit is given the microphone.
