How old is JF? Sounded rather like a maternity school-marm talking to a slow, small child. Huffffffffff pufffffffffff sigggggghhhhh.

spontaneousgiventime · 29/05/2018 17:50

You can always tell when our side presented the better argument in a debate like Amy has done today. The Angels forum completely ignores the fact there even was a debate.

Go Amy, go Amy, go Amy - YEAH! childish I know. Grin

AsAProfessionalFekko · 29/05/2018 17:53

I know who JF reminded me of - me when it's been a long day and a rep calls and launches into their script - but I don't know if they are friend with my boss, so I give them scant pleasantries and pretend to listen.

nauticant · 29/05/2018 18:01

Looking at the reaction on twitter to that radio piece, one thing that stands out is how many trans allies think that no gender critical person should be allowed a voice in the media. No interest in arguments, the only issue is that the opposite side must be silenced.

R0wantrees · 29/05/2018 18:01

Jane Fae described Amy Desir/ ManFriday as 'bullying' on tonight's interview on Radio 4.

Please see #ManFriday's recent 'Art Exhibition' for examples of bullying:
manfridayuk.org/2018/05/04/manfriday-the-11th-our-very-own-art-exhibition/#more-1060

(concludes)
"The women and transwomen being attacked by these male ‘trans rights activists’ have rather different weapons of choice:

Public debates open to all
Swimming trunks and a ridiculous hat
T-shirts, badges and leaflets
Silly cartoons
A crowd-funded legal challenge to a political party breaking the law
Meetings with our MPs
Media interviews
Discussion on a public forum
A petition on the government website
The not-remotely funny thing is, it is these women and transwomen who are being removed from office, interviewed under police caution, verbally abused, threatened, intimidated, shoved, beaten and surrounded by baying mobs of these terrifying TRAs. This is not a few crazies sounding off on Twitter. This is real.

To our politicians: will you speak up now against this avalanche of violent misogyny? If not, why not?

To transpeople: there is a balance of rights to be found that both protects women and girls and enables people suffering from gender dysphoria to participate in a full social life. Women always have been and can always be your staunchest allies, but there are people among you who are playing divide and conquer. Loudly. They don’t care about you. They want to erase your identity as well as ours in their narcissistic rampage of male violence and self-entitlement. Let’s talk."

LM is complaining about the transphobe on BBCRadio4 who just called him a man. Did I miss something?

boatyardblues · 29/05/2018 18:32

Amy did mention AWS and Womens Officer posts, but she could equally have been referring to Dave Lewis.

boatyardblues · 29/05/2018 18:33

My point is that no names were named.

SwearyG · 29/05/2018 18:33

She could have been referring to Peto couldn't she?

SwearyG · 29/05/2018 18:34

Typical LM, it always has to be all about them.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 29/05/2018 18:39

Amy, you were brilliant! To the point, on point and articulate. Wonderful stuff.

All that huffing though. Should have asked Jane 'egg shell skull' if they needed to get an inhaler.

bd67th · 29/05/2018 18:44

@FaithSeed So you managed to go into a "safe space" packed with men, and managed to get away with not being raped/assaulted/perved on, and when there was a problem the police arrived and dealt with it according to law.

The men were looking at the Man Friday ladies, and the ladies expected this and took it as the price of getting the point across. The ladies also went in en masse, into a space supervised by lifeguards. This is a lot different from going to a sauna alone and having a male-bodied person walk in unexpectedly when you reasonably expected the sauna to be female-only and had taken your top off.

Fucking hell. Check out this thread. One of the best I've seen

Lily Madigan has a wikipedia page? Seriously? Do all the other Labour women's officers?

AsAProfessionalFekko · 29/05/2018 18:50

You do know that you can write your own wiki page...

busyboysmum · 29/05/2018 18:55

Jane Fae was lying a lot in that. Its like the truth wouldn't wash so had to be distorted. Firstly with self id you don't have to go to court. A stat dec would be all that's needed. So that was a big misrepresentation as any local solicitor can swear a stat dec at a cost of £5. There's no going to court involved and JF must know that.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 29/05/2018 19:00

Listening just now. Bit of an own goal from Fae I think? Saying that the gatekeeping at the moment is insufficient to stop predatory males getting a GRC...

R0wantrees · 29/05/2018 19:05

Nicola Williams has produced a wide range of in-depth information and resources here:

including (extract):
"We recently published a post covering all aspects of UK Equality Law that relate to the rights of women. To accompany the comprehensive guide we have now made a useful factsheet.

Please share widely on-line. Print it out and give it to your friends":

FACTSHEET 1: A guide to the UK Equality law and a woman’s right to single-sex spaces and services
FACTSHEET 2: Guide to a women’s legal right to seek refuge in a space ‘for women run by women’
FACTSHEET 3: Guide to the Scottish consultation on legal gender recognition

As a pp said Camp TRA don't seem to know how to respond and are wildly flailing about hoping something will stick. Easy to see why they want #nodebate!

MunchausensLovelyHorse · 29/05/2018 19:10

Hello again, @SwearyG and Amy @Yesitsadebate

I don't know if you remember me, but back in February I was the poster who said 'I'm going to identify as a man every Friday' and 'I'll call it Man Friday' - and Amy said 'can I use that?' and wow, I'm so thrilled to be some small part of this amazing, huge thing.

Since Feb I've had medical problems, surgery, and a recovery period relating to removal of my uterus, cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes.

I'm still a woman. I hate 'women without a womb' being brought into.play by TRAs to try to prove some non-existent point.

More than ever I want to be properly consulted on spaces and services for women. Biological women. With female biology, and all that arises from that.

And thank you. Truly, thank you. Flowers
