Woman gets written up by HR for having menstrual products in her car

Turns out that the coworker who complained was a transwoman. The complaining part is sadly not a surprise, since we already know that some transwomen think women are being female at them out of spite, but the fact that HR actually took the complaint seriously and wrote the letter writer up for having personal care items in a bag in her car rather than explaining to the complainer that the complaint was unreasonable is not exactly a great sign in terms of how workplaces are handling complaints relating to trans issues.

To me the trans element is a red herring (other than the complaint appears to have been given extra weight because of it. But I'm guessing - it could be that HR would have done this for anyone).

It's the potentially being given extra weight bit that concerns me, and at the same time I can see why HR would do that given that their job is to protect the company from getting sued/into trouble. (Aside - if you think HR are there to help you the employee then think again.) I'd hope that if Bob who works in sales threw a fit about menstrual products being visible in someone's car, or even at their desk, Bob would be told tactfully but firmly that there's no office rule banning employees from having products that half of them will need for at least some portion of their career in their private vehicle, or at their desk. If it's Bianca who's trans complaining then I can see that HR might handle that differently, and not in a way that's advantageous to female employees.

It opened to a very long series of very sensible replies saying there was nothing wrong in keeping a box of tampons on a work shelf

The sensible replies take a pretty weird turn when the information that the person who complained is trans surfaces.
Then there’s replies saying that the woman must have bullied her and suchlike.

I don't think it's even really womb envy. Not like they really do want bleeding, cramps, the risk of unwanted pregnancy where abortion is illegal, or injuries from childbirth.

I think a lot of them just don't want that fundamental difference between us to exist. But it does. So they want all evidence banished from sight. Because this is one instance where they will not get their own way, no matter how powerful they or their lobbyists may be.

Gosh, I was wondering about 'kink', LOL.
For those that did not follow what I was saying, I actually hyperlinked the actual link I was talking about.

Some can't tolerate being reminded that their body is different from ours. They want validation above all.

Never mind what was being hidden, why would an HR department care what was in your car?

AngryAttackKittens · 16/05/2018 07:01

That's the second "I will sue this spa for refusing to wax my ladyballs" lawsuit I've heard about. First of all, staff are entitled to refuse to do that. Secondly, do these idiots not understand that waxing balls is something one has to be specially trained for and the regular old how to wax a vulva training really won't cover it? It's all fun and games until someone ends up in the ER because they insisted that an untrained person pour hot wax on their genitals and then yank the hair out without having any idea how to go about doing so safely.

Can't help feeling that post would have gone down well in the recent BDSM thread 🤣
