The choice of CJ makes no sense whatsoever, but then neither does LM's petition.
I thought the point of these lectures is about UK based actors and entertainers trying to find roles in the UK industry and not being able to get a break here. (Idris and Riz both having had their major breaks in the US because there was nothing for them here). So to follow on in that theme, surely a British, female person of colour or a trans woman actually in entertainment would be the logical choice; for example, Marianne Jean-Baptiste who had a similar experience to RA and IE; or the trans woman actor whose name escapes me but who appeared on Victoria Derbyshire with Nicola Williams a couple of months back. Or any director, producer, writer etc who is not a white, middle class male.
CJ is nothing to do with the British entertainment industry, nor has CJ struggled in any way whatsoever to become an entertainer (If that's what CJ is now, as distinct from a "personality").
Whilst LM certainly provides a huge amount of entertainment inadvertently, neither LM nor Linda Bellos, Miranda Yardley or anyone outside the relevant field should be giving this lecture. I think LM has confused it with a political event because of the venue.
If I've got the wrong end of the stick as to the nature of this event, I apologise.
