leyat I've just seen that.

Uncalled for

Datun · 02/05/2018 23:41

@Daxleo

I'm really shocked. Not that you got threatened, that's par for the course. Although targeting your baby is just sick.

But that it seems to have been a result of this new policy of allowing Twitter to report.

I'm not on Twitter. Can someone enlighten me as to exactly how this is supposed to work?

Does it mean that a user on here is highlighted on Twitter? In public? To be targeted? By anyone?

And HQ have sanctioned this?

Does anyone have the smallest clue how, exactly, HQ thought this was supposed to work? How it wouldn't result in individuals being publically targeted?

I feel as though I have really missed something.

Wow I was not particularly opinionated one way or the other on this on this whole GRC debate but I am truly shocked by the misogyny currently being displayed on twitter by Shon and the mumsnet transphobic twitter account.

If you're reading this - you are disgraceful and losing more allies than you are gaining them. I am absolutely appalled debate is being shut down in this way.

FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends · 02/05/2018 23:48

Sorry mumsnet transphobia twitter.

leyat · 02/05/2018 23:50

Mumsnet have a twitter acc, so they're saying that anyone on Twitter can report on Twitter, which means tons of MRA's/TA's/Misogynists now tweeting Mumsnet screenshots of posts on here, acting as a kind of collation of posts from here in threads on Twitter, which can easily found by searching Mumnet's twitter handle. So it makes it much more likely that anyone who wants to find posts that TA's are reporting and either report as well or target the poster or both. So it encourages mass reporting as well as targeted harassment, and all by a group where violent misogyny, doxxing, harassment, coercion and attacking feminists is pervasive. I noticed a chat from just under a year ago on here, re making Radical Feminism into it's own board on Mumsnet, but it was decided against because of the fear of using that as a way for TA's/MRA's etc to specifically target radfems. Justine Greening herself was in that chat, so it seems very strange that while they were claiming there that they don't want to do anything to encourage 'trolls' that now they are doing this. It is so fucking wrong.

cistersofterfy · 02/05/2018 23:50

Shon Faye and IW and others are tweeting to say @MNHQ has had a policy change and encouraging people to screenshot posts publicly on twitter.

So yes, Datun. Unforeseeable consequences.

Datun

As far as I can see, the Twitter account set up to highlight posts they consider 'transphobic' shows the time/date and content of the post but has the username obscured.

I don't know whether they're sending additional info to MNHQ about posts but nothing else seems to be public.

doctorcuntybollocks · 02/05/2018 23:52

Why are Mumsnet HQ making themselves Shon Faye's gimp?

Maybe it isn't such a bad thing that they publicize what transgender advocates consider transphobic.

FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends · 02/05/2018 23:56

I literally see nothing transphobic about any of the comments posted.

Men should be free to present as feminine if they want to. Nothing wrong with that. But they are not women. What a fucking insult to the thousands of women worldwide for whom gender is a prison and not a privilege.

I don't "identify" as a woman. I am a female, as determined by my biological sex.

Womanhood is not a feeling.

FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends · 02/05/2018 23:57

It reminds me of abusive men who say they've been abused by their wives and when questioned further it turns out they meant such "abuse" as not getting sex or getting nagged to do housework.

Datun · 02/05/2018 23:57

cistersofterfy

Shon Faye and IW and others are tweeting to say @MNHQ has had a policy change and encouraging people to screenshot posts publicly on twitter.

Is it naivety? I don't get it. I'm not even on bloody Twitter and I would have seen the massive flaw in that policy immediately.

Members on here are being personally targeted, in public, and being deliberately frightened.

It will, of course, backfire spectacularly as soon as the papers get hold of it. Which they will.

Shutting down women on mumsnet by hoping that their babies die isn't a good look.

leyat · 02/05/2018 23:59

No surprise SF is constantly reading MN, xe has no life.

And yup Datun, this is all totally foreseeable; my post above was for your btw, just to clarify the twitter situation.

Amalfimamma · 02/05/2018 23:59

MNHQ may I ask in all sincerity when you became shon faye's Handmaiden? Can I just snap my fingers and have you at my back and call too?

What a fucking crank.

cistersofterfy · 03/05/2018 00:05

I would suggest dax might've been doxxed by connecting username here and twitter details. I'm not an expert in these things but I thought that was a big no-no.

Amalfimamma · 03/05/2018 00:06

cistersofterfy it means they don't have the balls to stand by their statements as they know they are bordering on the illegal and harassment. It also means he thinks he's smarter than the women he wants to erase by not allowing them to see what he tweets but by screenshotting and posting on Twitter our comments.

Something which is also bordering on illegality
