My pronoun is lord. Do not mis pronoun me. Obey.

womanhuman · 02/05/2018 17:33

I’m crying at some of those pronouns.

Mum can I have 😂

Mumsnut · 02/05/2018 17:34

As you were, everyone.

PermissionToSpeakSir · 02/05/2018 17:35

Didn't Queen Elizabeth I come up with 'your royal highness' and 'your majesty', etc? -

I want pronouns like that - I can choose can't I?

So In my pronoun round (if it every comes up) I'll asked to be referred to as 'Glorious Wonder Brilliance'. That will be extremely affirming.

Did anyone ever have to do the team building thing where you were meant to fall back and let someone catch you as a way of building trust? I'm glad they'd moved on from that before my time. My experience of team building activities at work has mostly involved lots and lots of alcohol.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/05/2018 17:38

SheWhoMustBeObeyed ?

Mypronounsarepinkmacaron · 02/05/2018 17:39

OMG that article

'Sometimes, instead of saying “he/him/his” or “she/her/hers,” people might say “male pronouns” or “female pronouns.” This terminology can be an issue because some non-binary people use “he” or “she” but are not male or female. '

See this is the problem.

EVERYONE IS EITHER MALE OR FEMALE.

These people are insane. Deluded, and insane.

PermissionToSpeakSir · 02/05/2018 17:39

FlyingBird I could not read very far before the 'protect the potential delicate snowflake in your midst' bullshit made me see red.

PermissionToSpeakSir · 02/05/2018 17:40

Errol I like it

Elendon · 02/05/2018 17:41

FlyingBird After reading that link my internal response would be

Feck!

Elendon · 02/05/2018 17:42

Wanted to add:

Drink!

IdentifiesAsMiddleAged · 02/05/2018 17:43

yy OMG that article

Being called cis affects me emotionally. It really affects me emotionally

Elendon · 02/05/2018 17:44

Or that would be an ecumenical matter:

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 02/05/2018 17:44

@MNHQ

This is why you will never win with the TRAs.

They demand only complete and utter capitulation to their demands.

LangCleg · 02/05/2018 17:45

My pronouns are fish and fingers.

Mypronounsarepinkmacaron · 02/05/2018 17:46

I agree MNHQ. Why are you giving in to these horrible, bullying men? Please, stop it.

LangCleg · 02/05/2018 17:47

This is why you will never win with the TRAs.

I got deleted! I'm genuinely only messing about on this thread too. I don't care about Shon any more than I care about fish fingers. What did I sayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!

ErrolTheDragon · 02/05/2018 17:48

But if you're actually in some sort of meeting, does the third person pronoun singular pronoun often even get used? In most face to face situations, the applicable singular pronouns would be 'I', 'you'. If referring to a specific person then generally name is politer and without the ambiguity of a pronoun. (My DM, a teacher, would pull me up on ambiguous pronouns with "who's 'she'? The cat's mother?"

Mypronounsarepinkmacaron · 02/05/2018 17:48

The thing is, TRAs will never win.

The reason is that even if they control the media, politicians, even if they gain all the power, what they can NEVER do is control people's thoughts.

They cannot MAKE anyone believe that men are women. Even the allies and fawning handmaidens, deep down, do not believe that they are women. Even the lefty men do not believe they are women, because they do not want them as sexual partners.

They know this, and this is what makes them howl with rage.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 02/05/2018 17:49

Also, that dishonest bastard has posted deleted posts from another thread not THIS one

Note the date

Errol

I know. It would be really rude of me to refer to Pam from Accounts as 'she'. I'd say Pam

Otherwise Pam might (rightly) retort with "What am I? Chopped liver?"

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 02/05/2018 17:51

Because THIS is what they want.

leyat · 02/05/2018 17:51

Is Mumsnet seriously deleting posts that refer to men as 'he'?

KateMumsnet · 02/05/2018 17:52

Hey all - if you post knowing that you're going to be deleted, then that's pretty much a refusal to stick to the TGs and we take quite a dim view of that.
