Think some of you might enjoy this:

It's Owen's trip to the seaside.

"The helter skelter offers no viable accommodation. No one in this day and age should be asked to sleep outside. On an incline" Grin

OP posts:

Bugger bugger bugger.

I meant to pick up a copy today 😢

TerfsUp · 21/04/2018 17:00

That was wonderful - Craig Brown has got the tone and the vocabulary down pat.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/04/2018 17:02

Thanks OP, I very much enjoyed that Grin

Caldonia · 21/04/2018 17:06

The jellyfish tweets are priceless.

spontaneousgiventime · 21/04/2018 17:17

Excellent, that made me giggle like a little 'un laugh.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 21/04/2018 17:19

Why are they called funfairs? Unfair more like.

Grin I did actually lol

DarthArts · 21/04/2018 17:21

He's not having a good time of it on Twitter.

Did anyone see this from a former Labour MP after they got into a Twitter spat after Dugher defended a former colleague against him.

I just read that this morning and it made me very happy to see a full page OJ take down.
Perfect parody of my least favourite journalist.
I can actually imagine those words being his own.

Havoc · 21/04/2018 17:22

The jellyfish tweets are priceless.

I liked that he identified the problem, organised the campaign and made the Tories backdown, all within half a dozen tweets. Classic OJ.

DarthArts · 21/04/2018 17:23

He's not a journalist though - according to him.

He's a social commentator or some other definition.

TammySwansonTwo · 21/04/2018 17:24

Hmm. I’m no fan of Jones but mocking the rightful calling out of the tories isn’t something I find particularly funny.

Havoc · 21/04/2018 17:26

"social commentator". Why wasn't i given that option in 'careers advice'? I got jewelry maker or nurse.

ReluctantCamper · 21/04/2018 17:37

You just know that if the penny finally drops for little OJ and he realises that he's 'on the wrong side of history', it will all have been someone else's fault.

Probably ours.

Because some gender critical feminists are middle class he had to take a stand against them, so it will be literally their fault when it's just him and Cherno Biko left under the trans umbrella.

IdentifiesAsMiddleAged · 21/04/2018 17:48

Craig Brown is so talented. Thanks for linking

Xenophile · 21/04/2018 17:51

Owen is middle class ffs.

I agree someone needs to hold the Tories to account, and if that's what he was doing then I'd swallow my gorge and support him in his writing. He doesn't. He spends more time making those outraged Morph sounds about people no one should approve of than he ever has about Tory policies.

Popchyk · 21/04/2018 18:18

"Did anyone see this from a former Labour MP after they got into a Twitter spat after Dugher defended a former colleague against him."

Yes.

Guido Fawkes

OJ accused him of swearing on Twitter.

Michael Dugher responded:

Yes. You’re quite right. I apologise unreservedly for swearing. You tedious sanctimonious fucker

RedToothBrush · 21/04/2018 18:23

Perfect parody of my least favourite journalist.

Opinion column writer.

Journalists do facts. Opinion writers don't.

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 21/04/2018 18:25

Hmm. I’m no fan of Jones but mocking the rightful calling out of the tories isn’t something I find particularly funny

It's not really mocking the calling out if the Tories. It's mocking the sanctimonious style of OJs tweets. Which the author has done absolutely perfectly.

LassWiADelicateAir · 21/04/2018 18:29

He does however have a very lovely cat. I hate it when people I don't like pose on social media with their cats. It makes me feel mean.

I think Ann Widdecombe started this with her Widdieweb- a site devoted to her cats. No matter what she had done the cats distracted you.

TerfsUp · 21/04/2018 18:35

Popchyk, that was brilliant. Thanks for the link.

IdentifiesAsMiddleAged · 21/04/2018 18:41

Lass

Yes it's difficult to square the love-cats-disdain-Owen-Jones-circle

His pussy is particularly nice

Trumpdump · 21/04/2018 18:49

He is less-diplomatic than the likes of Katie Hopkins! He really can't stand anyone having a different opinion to him. I don't know how he got through Oxbridge!

Mumsnut · 21/04/2018 18:49

Would it be wrong to change my name to OwenJones'sPussy?

IdentifiesAsMiddleAged · 21/04/2018 18:51
Grin

Maybe OwenJones'Pussy

More elegant

Xenophile · 21/04/2018 18:56

Trumpdump by all accounts he got through by aggressively editing Wikipedia pages that said things he didn't like. No one argued with him there, so he probably now has an enormously inflated sense of the worth of his opinions and explains his inability to deal with even the mildest of criticism.
