I hope the link works but if not there is a screen shot

There is definitely a difference in the way TIM view women who don’t buy the self-ID argument as opposed to men. They literally combust. I’m not so sure it’s all explained by misogyny, more a base feeling of rejection enhanced by their underlying narcissism.

But yeah, that tweet won’t help him get a platform anytime soon in the world that has gone mad.

Yes Blanchard has got it, thanks for that tweet.

And I wouldn't be surprised if TIMs became more hostile to women as they come to realize that they simply do not pass. I suspect that a lot of the young ones (teens or twenties) really believe that they are women, and their social circles maintain the pretence. So it will come as a massive shock when some women refuse to play along. It will combine with generational resentment because it's older womentheir parents' generationwho won't put up with it.

It's not radical feminists who are exclusionary, it's Mother Nature.

I actually hadn’t heard of Ray Blanchard until his recent suspension and reinstatement, so have been trying to learn more.

For me, this tweet articulates really well why TRAs direct all their aggression towards women instead of men. Bumping in case anyone else finds it useful Smile

Here it is.

I can’t remember where I read it, but there was a paper or academic source that included the suggestion that transition increased AGPs anger towards women when the fantasy failed and they realised that full acceptance into womanhood was never going to occur.

The suggestion then that these angry-with-women transitioners should be foisted onto women amidst increasing insistence that no psychiatric help is needed looks like the perfect storm.

ChattyLion · 14/05/2019 07:10

Agreed Prion. Women becoming vulnerable to men when those women voice reality. It’s an abusive tale as old as time. Women responsible for protecting men’s feelings and if that fails, punish the woman. Hmm

And also very worrying for adult and child gender dysphoria patients’ unmet psychological needs that the advocacy seems to be moving towards services being ‘affirmative’ ie medically/surgically-focused rather than centred around talking therapies and at the same time calling for these drastic physical interventions to be deprofessionalised: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3549494-Plans-for-radical-trans-health-service-model-to-be-rolled-out-across-England

Agree. I don't want these male people anywhere near women's spaces.

Genderfreelass · 14/05/2019 09:50

Blanchard is great at hitting the nail on the head.

The anger of AGP is predominantly aimed at women when we don't accept them. They don't really care that much when men make far more offensive remarks about them.

Datun · 14/05/2019 09:51

And I think there's more to it than that.

They don't actually want to become women. They want to become a male version of a woman. The version of a woman that they themselves would like. Submissive, compliant, objectified.

I think it's far more than just a rejection from women, it's the rejection, coupled with the information that this is not what women are. That their fantasy is based on a false premise. A concept that is generated by themself, not nature. And therefore, far more unattainable than even they originally thought. Because not only can they not become women, the woman they want to become exists only in their own head.

It must come as something of a shock to realise that pornography and the drive to objectify women is something you utterly believed in. And that you've been conned. That your fantasy woman is just that.

Cold, hard reality, lads. Ouchie!

Ray Blanchard said this on Twitter Very true

In most areas, I would automatically take the opinion of an expert over that of a lay person. In the field of gender/trans, however, many “experts” are ideologues and activists, and they cannot be relied on for objective opinions

long article worth reading in full:

'The Elephant In The Room'
by Sue Donym
(concludes)
"If there’s one thing you ought to do, it’s discuss the elephant. Please discuss the elephant. Don’t leave it rampaging around the room, destroying everything in its path.

Autogynephilia is a weird concept. It can be inaccessible. But it needs to be discussed in the LGBT community, and openly. Not talking about it is causing way too much damage — we have had our organizations taken over, our spaces colonized, and our sexuality redefined. Thanks to these men, you can no longer say ‘I am, gay, meaning exclusively same-sex attracted’ without being labelled a TERF. That’s not a good thing.

Dancing around the subject isn’t helpful. While the ultimate result of autogynephilia is homophobic rhetoric, is important to remember that a sexual fantasy, not homophobia, motivates such rhetoric. That is the root cause of the problem.

Worse is the effect on autogynephiles themselves. ‘Transgender’ is not an umbrella. It is a term that erases the very different motivations and causes of various forms of gender dysphoria. It does people who claim the label absolutely no favors. The original inclusion of the ‘T’ was designed for homosexual transsexuals, and include them with other same-sex attracted individuals. It was not designed to include autogynephiles, who are heterosexual males, or ‘queer’ individuals who are heterosexual but believe dying their hair some variation of neon should mean they are included. Making ‘transgender’ an umbrella not only erases the very different causes and struggles associated with homosexual transsexuality, it also obscures the causes of, and struggles associated with autogynephilia. Autogynephilia is not a condition I would wish on anyone. It is a unique, somewhat bizarre struggle, and reading through many of the accounts of it was quite sad. It can make its sufferers lonely and unable to connect with intimate partners. But enabling it, and on a grand scale, has caused immense damage to homosexuals, particularly lesbians, who have lost almost all their spaces and communities to colonization.

Please discuss the elephant."

DpWm · 14/05/2019 12:56

They don't actually want to become women. They want to become a male version of a woman

They don't actually know what a woman is.
I think Miranda Yardley summarised it well, that AGPs are confusing "feeling sexy" with "feeling like a woman". This seems right to me.

(This boils down to something amiss in our gendered society...)

Interesting interview with Ray Blanchard.

Goosefoot · 16/05/2019 15:34

Autogynephilia is a weird concept.

I think this is actually so weird to a lot of people, both men and women, that they can't conceptualise that it is real for anyone. So they tend to dismiss it as just made up.
