Elizabeth Truss supports Justine via Twitter :)

Caldonia agree there is plenty to write about on this topic and it has now attracted a range of commenters from even the Guardian. Am wondering if more investigative type journalists from the newspaper side are also watching.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 17/04/2018 18:01

Excellent.
I am so horrified to clearly see what cowards our politicians seem to be.
Off to see my MSP next week - MP hasnt even responded yet Hmm

RosenbergW · 17/04/2018 18:04

You're right pombear - these activists don't care why women might need this space, they are the bully who will snatch someone's toy away only to snap it in half.
Why are their demands given any time at all?
What have they ever done for women? When have they ever supported women?

They don't even go here!

Winewinewinegin · 17/04/2018 18:05

Hurrah for Elizabeth Truss and hurrah for democracy.

Thank you for standing up for free speech for women. It means an awful lot.

Viago · 17/04/2018 18:09

Thank you James and by extension Fraser Nelson.

I'm taking out a Spectator subscription.

BeUpStanding · 17/04/2018 18:14

Thanks James! Brilliant article Grin.

I'm off to check out how much a subscription to The Spectator is...

merrymouse · 17/04/2018 18:16

If you sign up to the Spectator you get a certain number of free articles per week.

RogerAllamsFangirl · 17/04/2018 18:22

I've asked for a subscription for my birthday- largely down to James's articles on the GC debate

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 17/04/2018 18:32

TheRoadToTerfdom

I think if James Kirkup were here, he might appreciate being told directly that I think he's a fine gentleman and I thank him very much for his support.

I would also like to say that I tried to take your username and was extremely miffed that it had already been taken. Hurmff.

Winewinewinegin · 17/04/2018 18:50

Worth showing Elizabeth Truss some support on twitter if people appreciate her backing free speech and women's right to discuss their concerns.

It shouldn't have to be a brave thing to say that but in the current political climate must still take a lot of guts.

And the more voices showing this matters the better, and easier for others to speak up too.

Mumsnut · 17/04/2018 18:50

I took out a subscription to The Spectator on the basis of his articles.

@RoadToTerfdom thanks, I think you might be right ;)

It's about time I subscribed to The Spectator. I've been using my free monthly articles on Douglas Murray but there is so much good content.

And thanks Mumsnet, much appreciated.

TerfsUp · 17/04/2018 18:55

Thank you, Justine Roberts and James Kirkup.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 17/04/2018 18:58

Terrific article James.
Sadly more men need to speak up so that women can be taken seriously. I hate that that’s the way it is but it’s something I recognise to be true.

I’m very interested to work out which MPs are too scared to speak out. This is why we need to write and talk to our representatives because maybe they’ll have the bloody backbone to support free speech on this topic if they know enough of us demand it.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 17/04/2018 18:58

And I will be subscribing to The Spectator this evening.

Mytholmroyd · 17/04/2018 19:00

Subscribed to the Spectator also. Seems like a breakthrough finally calling out our cowardly MPs

ShackUp · 17/04/2018 19:05

Ah, Douglas Murray Hmm I won't be taking out a subscription, but thank you James and Justine Thanks

Mner · 17/04/2018 19:08

I signed up for the free articles a while ago for James' excellent GC pieces. Another great article here. Amazing how none of this ideology stands up to scrutiny and is all based on bullying and gaslighting.

I have emailed my MP twice and get the feeling that she is onside but not publicly Sad

ArtemisRhodes · 17/04/2018 19:15

Rosenburg and everyone ... "Maria MacLachlan was told by a judge to refer to her male attacker as a female ".

There is a petition letter, drawn up by lawyers, about to be sent to the Judicial Complaints Board about this. There are currently 300 signatories. Anyone can sign it, they just have to email their name to the person keeping the list. The names will never be made public, only one person is keeping the list and it will only ever be used for this one letter.

Ereshkigal · 17/04/2018 19:18

Thank you James and Justine! Free speech is a cornerstone of democracy.

Winewinewinegin · 17/04/2018 19:18

Artemis how do we do this please?

IndominusRex · 17/04/2018 19:18

Absolutely brilliant article. Will be clicking and sharing widely.

Floisme · 17/04/2018 19:22

Thank you James - a mighty fine article.

And thank you Elizabeth Truss.

Justine I have already thanked you but thank you again. I am considering spoiling my ballot paper and casting my vote for you.

Yes, who are these MPs who won't speak out?
