www.thetimes.co.uk/article/trans-activists-think-debate-is-hate-speech-hsh7vpmzt

Hopefully someone will come along with a share token soon but the relevant section is:

Mumsnet is a rare forum where feminist anxiety about trans ideology is allowed to be aired. The website takes no position, it merely upholds free speech. However, activists are now threatening Mumsnet advertisers, telling them to stop “funding bigotry” or face a Twitter storm and possible boycott. They hope that, fearful of losing revenue, Mumsnet will delete and ban the debates.

The article also states that the Crown Prosecution Service have decided not to prosecute Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull (presumably because she didn't actually do anything illegal).

Katara - great post

OvaHere · 14/04/2018 22:14

Thanks Waddle I didn't realise that.

SirVixofVixHall · 14/04/2018 22:40

Agree great post Katura, would be interesting to know which advertisers are requesting this, because then if I use their product I would happily write a polite but clear letter, pointing this out.

Yes, when men decide that the word female means male or female and also decide females can't say anything about it whilst also saying they celebrate 100 years of the female suffragist movement , I kinda think they are a bit confused about what a women and a man is? Like they no longer know the difference between a penis and a vagina. Do you think men have forgotten that? Or are they just playing hard to get?

Trousersdontmakemeaman · 14/04/2018 23:03

Tesco need to promote gay and lesbian penis in vagina sex. It's the new sexuality about to be brought into law, all their gay male customers ad employees are bigots if they don't agree. I went on a diversity and inclusion course and was told this.
Tesco have to run courses for their staff to tell them.

Shock

Seriously? Where?!?

SirVixofVixHall · 14/04/2018 23:07

WHAT ? Why are so many gay men seemingly on board with this ? I see plenty of lesbians worried on twitter, and getting abuse, but very few gay men. There are a couple of gay men rightly pointing out the homophobia in denying same sex attraction , but mostly it is women.

Trousersdontmakemeaman · 14/04/2018 23:14

You will have to PM me if you want to know where.

I went in the name of research to a Diversity and Inclusion course run by the client i am working for in central London this week and was told categorically that there were new sexual identities in addition to lesbian gay and hetero being brought into protected characteristics in the new version of the GRA in line with identity expression.

I am not making this up. The woman running the course became more and more uncomfortable the more I asked so I stopped. She was all over the place on this. I am considering how to approach this offline if anyone wants to message me. This is quite serious.

bluescreen · 14/04/2018 23:48

Trousers, is your client influential? Not asking you to out them, just trying to get a sense of the size of the issue. And, yanno, it's mostly about people not being bigots - except when suddenly it's about protected spaces, or quotas, or crime statistics etc.

Elletorro · 14/04/2018 23:55

What was the name of the company running the course?

I’d be suggesting that your client rethinks it’s training contracts ASAP. If they follow the ‘training’ they have received then they are putting themselves in a risky position re discrimination claims. Could be an expensive mistake particularly if your client has a lot of employees.

I’d approach it from that angle

ijustwannadance · 15/04/2018 01:18

How is penis in vagina sex a new sexuality?Confused
Why are people ok with this blatant homophobia?

It's so fucking wrong.

Also pisses me off that if you live in reality you are a bigot. When the very definition of the word describes every TRA.

Trousersdontmakemeaman · 15/04/2018 02:41

Elletorro, I can tell you more.

IdentifiesAsMiddleAged · 15/04/2018 06:18

JUSTINE MN in the Times too!

therealposieparker · 15/04/2018 08:01

I am making decisions about what to do with the money. I cannot say anymore at this point.

Popchyk · 15/04/2018 09:56

Fair enough, Posie.

How are you doing? Been a terrible time for you but you have come through.

OlennasWimple · 15/04/2018 14:15

Great article from A Gilligan, great comments underneath

therealposieparker · 16/04/2018 09:29

I'm okay actually. I'm going to make a statement about the whole thing in a short while.

TerfsUp · 16/04/2018 09:33

Hi, posie. Looking forward to hearing your statement! I am so glad that the CPS have decided not to proceed with the ridiculous case against you.

Melamin · 16/04/2018 10:31

Looking forward to it. Glad the CPS have thought better of it.

therealposieparker · 16/04/2018 15:07

I'm going to set up a non profit I think. I've donated some funds to transgender trend and will give some to James caspians fund.

OvaHere · 16/04/2018 15:42

Sounds like a good plan Posie I'm glad the money wasn't 'wasted' on legal fees in the end.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 16/04/2018 16:34

Brilliant posie

Pratchet · 16/04/2018 17:20
