grandma the reason for this list was the 'this never happens!' TRA brigade, who are trying to brainwash us all into thinking no man who identifies as trans could ever pose a risk to women in women only spaces. If someone is making that ridiculous argument, how else can women counter it than by producing evidence which disproves what they're claiming? It's not randomise picking a demographic and having a go at them, it's producing evidence to inform responsible law making.

Ereshkigal · 04/04/2018 14:52

This. It's not fair to women to on one hand demand that males can access all women's spaces, do nothing to reassure them or take their concerns seriously and claim there is no evidence of any wrongdoing and this subset of males aren't like other males, and on the other hand suppress evidence that they are. If policy makers would just admit they are male we wouldn't have this issue and we could have an honest discussion about risk etc.

BastardGingerCat · 04/04/2018 14:55

Nasim is a woman's name TerfsUp - the male variation is Nassim.

Truscum · 04/04/2018 15:04

What the....?

That wasn’t speculation! That a was a news story link and questioning it!

Quite Truscum

TheDukesOfHazzard · 04/04/2018 15:08

What's all the deletion?

TerfsUp · 04/04/2018 15:13

Nasim is a woman's name TerfsUp - the male variation is Nassim.

Nope. That is variance in transliteration.

The female version of the name is Nasima.

Educated guess at content/context - Truscum, MNHQ have deleted three threads on this today. I think they are waiting for reliable confirmation of a certain person's status before allowing any debate on that person. I think that, if reliably confirmed, it will be something to talk about with reference to offending patterns.

TheDukesOfHazzard · 04/04/2018 15:34

Oh just saw something on another thread.

The fact there are ? just shows how unreliable things have become. What used to be black and white is now very very grey, to the benefit of MRAs and violent men.

BastardGingerCat · 04/04/2018 15:58

We are in an environment where we know that it is mandatory for the press to lie about certain characteristics, that statistics are being distorted, and we are not allowed to discuss it if we notice that some stories diverge from the usual patterns of male and female offending. This is industrial scale gaslighting.

TheDukesOfHazzard · 04/04/2018 16:00

Then when there is a person who breaks the mould - a female comitting a crime that is predominantly male - the MRAs all celebrate and use that forever more to try and stop women discussing "male pattern violence" or similar.

DietCoke87 · 04/04/2018 20:12

Can anyone confirm the translation in the comments section for this www.youtube.com/watch?&v=KdIAtFXzCY0

Grandmaswagsbag · 04/04/2018 20:40

User, anyone making claims that a certain type of person is more or less likely to commit crimes just comes across as a nutter to anyone sensible. All types of people commit crimes, it depends on the individual. Neither side of this particular debate can possibly claim otherwise. At best this list is stooping to a silly simplistic level of ‘discussion’, at worst it’s proganda designed to stir up prejudice.

Datun · 04/04/2018 23:31

All types of people commit crimes, it

Nope. Most crimes are committed by men.

Sexually violent crimes are 98% men. And violent crimes 90%.

They are overwhelming sex specific.

Hence the requirement to retain women only spaces. And the constant need to defend them.

Video is still up on Vimeo. She's quite clear about the intent that it's to refute "This never happens". I looked it up as I was wondering.

CisPinkHoodie · 05/04/2018 04:45

It would be more apposite to have a list of crimes committed by transwomen which were reported by the media as having been committed by women

Pratchet · 05/04/2018 05:04

I'm with ferntwist and all the other reasonable voices. The video was made because it refutes a lie. It was taken down because the trans lobby needs us to be unable to refute the lie. It didn't matter before, there'd never been such stiff opposition to its progress. But now it's different - the UK (by which I mean you lot on mumsnet, not me I'm new) has made it necessary for the lobby to step up its game.

Glad to hear it. I love PY and her videos and I'm glad that she is sticking to her principles. It makes me love her even more.
