The pair have been in a queer, polyamorous relationship for 12 years. Nico identifies as pansexual while Bethany identifies as gay.

This is not the only woman I've come across in a heterosexual relationship who identifies as queer or gay or something that isn't 'boring white straight person'.

And while it's not okay to appropriate black experiences or exploit other peoples' cultures for LOLs, it's perfectly okay for straight people to piggyback off gay culture because we're all genderfluid now.

Fuck off

I'm so out of touch I have absolutely no idea what all these terms mean.

PerspicaciaTick · 20/03/2018 20:17

I can't get passed the sleeveless, chunky knit, roll neck sweater. The perfect combination of ugly, functionless and a bit itchy.

Missymoo100 · 20/03/2018 20:18

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/feb/09/polyamory-trans-documentary-love-unlimited

For instance this one, my trans polyamorous son.....

Two sides, same coin.

Atthebottomofthesea · 20/03/2018 20:19

As for the photos dating, I have a fuzzy edged one that was taken with a camera with a film inside. All photos have their moments.

dorothyparka · 20/03/2018 20:23

What have pansexuals got against upper case letters?

Acopyofacopy · 20/03/2018 20:32

So basically these people I have never heard of are some kind of friends with benefits who still like to screw around but also want to have a beautiful GOT-themed wedding party?

They might want to consider a career change to something Brexit related - they are most definitely having all the cakes and eating them.

SuburbanRhonda · 20/03/2018 20:32

I feel sorry for them.

You can’t really top a wedding like that and they’ll soon be arguing about whose turn it is to put the bins out.

Ihavesomeballs · 20/03/2018 20:36

It's all such a load of utter bollocks! Polyamorous, pansexual....... They are trends and nothing more. Most of us are monogamous because that is what works for most people, well apart from cheaters. Simon de Bouvier and Sartre had this kind of relationship and despite what some think it didn't work. Both were jealous and people got hurt, especially Simon. And it really pisses me off that the yoof think they've just made all this shit up, like they are so original.... Nope.

Butterymuffin · 20/03/2018 20:37

I just married some bloke

Gathering with you in the Boring Old Squares corner. If only I'd known about all these glorious possibilities. Hmm

MuddyForestWalks · 20/03/2018 20:45

buttery you don't need to change what you do to be exciting, just change what you call it. You can apparently call the most pedestrian of male-female relationships queer/gender bending/pan sexual/fluid/non binary/anti tradition and because you say it, it shall be thus.

donquixotedelamancha you made me not so much laugh out loud as do an undignified snort.

"we are lovers, twin flames and we will forever be." Every couple I know that spoke like this about one another failed to make it to their 10th anniversary, and several failed to make it to their 5th. Being twin flames is all well and good but I bet one of them still leaves their dirty pants on the floor and the other one seethes.

In reply to your original point OP, I am inclined to agree. When I came out in the late 90s it was scary and hard, not something that one did for shits and giggles and to get your male-female wedding into a lot more articles than it otherwise would be. Its the next step on from Katy Perry blethering on about how she kissed a girl.

dorothyparka · 20/03/2018 21:03

I love that in the middle of that article with its genderbending photographs and obscure references to 'timeless androgynous paraphernalia mimicking romanesque sculpture that fluidly blends masculine and feminine' is a perfectly placed advert for boiler breakdown insuranceGrin

OlennasWimple · 20/03/2018 21:29

I read this story yesterday and laughed very loud. It's almost as it they were trying to get ahead of Harry and Meghan before everyone is wedding-ed out.

Though I like their outfits, photos and getting married for only $25 Grin

SongforSal · 20/03/2018 21:39

To summerize. A man and a woman love each other, whilst also having sexual relations. So they marry. But he is pansexual. And she is gay.

Fuck off. Honestly. Attention seeking cockwombals.

StealthPolarBear · 20/03/2018 21:54

"Missymoo100

I mean ask yourself why polyamorous relationships are "news" all of a sudden."
What do you think the agenda is? Genuine question, it's all above my head

Zintox · 20/03/2018 22:58

I read it then started in the comments and that song came into my head:

This shit is bananas. B. A. N. A. N. A. S.

hipsterfun · 20/03/2018 23:48

Simon de Bouvier

Transman?

smithsinarazz · 22/03/2018 21:55

But, Missy, being gay isn't a consequence of the media promoting it. If the media are fine with people being gay, that's great, 'cos there's nothing wrong with it. However - though, like I say, it's not for me to be indignant - I can understand gay people being pissed off by straight people pretending to be gay when they're not, as if it's a wacky lifestyle choice.

windchimesabotage · 22/03/2018 22:00

'it's perfectly okay for straight people to piggyback off gay culture because we're all genderfluid now'

Yeah I get why this article is annoying but that is a pretty offensive thing to say. You dont stop being bisexual just because you enter into a relationship with someone of the opposite gender.
It sometimes feels like people dont really think bisexual people exist.
Well they do.
Im bisexual and im married to a man and have children with him. Doesnt make me not bisexual. Im not saying that to be trendy I am actually and have always been attracted to and had relationships with both genders.

Njordsgrrrl · 22/03/2018 22:02

I saw these two on Twitter as well.

With this comment:
