The pair have been in a queer, polyamorous relationship for 12 years. Nico identifies as pansexual while Bethany identifies as gay.

This is not the only woman I've come across in a heterosexual relationship who identifies as queer or gay or something that isn't 'boring white straight person'.

And while it's not okay to appropriate black experiences or exploit other peoples' cultures for LOLs, it's perfectly okay for straight people to piggyback off gay culture because we're all genderfluid now.

Fuck off

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/03/2018 18:44

if someone's pansexual, should I hide my cookware?

Ooooooooooooooooh! Grin

Missymoo100 · 20/03/2018 18:48

No doubt part of the marketing strategy for pushing polyamorous marriages- will see lots of it to come. The agenda to do away with the nucleur family.

splendide · 20/03/2018 18:49

I dunno - maybe they don’t have sexy with each other?

Or he’s the only man she’s slept with in a sea of lesbianity so she’s primarily gay?

splendide · 20/03/2018 18:50

Who’s agenda Missy? Do you think these people are being paid or something?

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 20/03/2018 18:50

Oh i just thought it was pretty...

The pictures, the words were just a load of shite

The identify as gay bit is just a load of tosh

They may well be bisexual but purloining the word gay is just confusing people for no reason

Djnoun · 20/03/2018 18:56

Oh, let other people enjoy their lives. They're obviously very happy together. Who cares?

Missymoo100 · 20/03/2018 18:59

I'm not sure where it's coming from- but type in polyamoros/ polyandry into a google search, then filter "news" and you will see there is a big push from media for it.
I'd bet my bottom dollar we will be seeing polyamorous marriages soon.
The trans agenda, polyandry all part of same trajectory we are on.

Ihavesomeballs · 20/03/2018 19:04

She/he/it...says in the article they are lovers, which I'm assuming means shagging?? Pansexual or in English, attention seeking fuckwitts!

Missymoo100 · 20/03/2018 19:05

www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/jan/20/why-i-chose-polyamory-anita-cassidy

This shit is relentless.....
I doubt the couple in ops example are actually gay. Just an attractive couple to get more attention.

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 20/03/2018 19:14

How can you 'identify' as gay? If you are you are, if you are not you are not. It does seem like attention seeking bollocks to be honest.

Those wedding photos are fucking fabulous though!

Missymoo100 · 20/03/2018 19:15

It's not pretty pictures, it is propoganda, as is the trans stuff and team that with freedom of speech erosion and it's easy to see there is something seriously wrong. I think it's deeply concerning.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/03/2018 19:18

They're obviously very happy together. Her body language for that kiss says different - she says, having gone all snoopy and conspiracy theoristy Blush

DairyisClosed · 20/03/2018 19:19

Those clothes aren't particularly gender bending (whoosh is the sound of the point flying over my head)

Missymoo100 · 20/03/2018 19:19

I mean ask yourself why polyamorous relationships are "news" all of a sudden.

LifelongVaginaOwner · 20/03/2018 19:28

This is what people do in lieu of having a personality.

AssassinatedBeauty · 20/03/2018 19:32

The description of those outfits as "genderbending" is ridiculous. They look as masculine and feminine as any groom and bride look. He's just got some wafty drapy bits wrapped partially around his waist, presumably on realising that otherwise he was wearing entirely gender normal clothing. She has slim fitting women's trousers on underneath a normal wedding dress. She's wearing women's heeled boots and he's wearing a men's DM style boot.

It is totally attention seeking waffle. Man and woman in long term relationship get married wearing slightly unusual outfits designed by a friend. It's not radical or amazingly and bravely breaking down sex-based stereotypes.

Callamia · 20/03/2018 19:33

They can fuck whomsoever they like, but referring to themselves as ‘twin flames’ is pukesome.

donquixotedelamancha · 20/03/2018 19:40

it's perfectly okay for straight people to piggyback off gay culture because we're all genderfluid now

You'd have to be really narcissistic and attention seeking to do something like that.

I think if you take a look at their wedding photos you'll see that couldn't possibly be the case- they seem like a humble, self effacing couple.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 20/03/2018 19:42

Was there a GOT theme? I personally think the crowns were wanky a mistake. Those photos will date.
I really don't like all the public gushing either. Everyone behaves like they are living in a film of their lives.

MrsJoshDun · 20/03/2018 19:43

They look like a pair of attention seeking twats, especially the wedding photos. So I should think all the publicity about sexual orientation is part of that.

She has great hair though.

FencingFightingTorture35 · 20/03/2018 19:54

I adore the photos. They're very beautiful. The text made me roll my eyes so far I can now see out the back of my queer head.

A girl I know who has spent the last year stamping her foot about insisting she is non-binary has also come out as polyamorous. Her boyfriend of five years doesn't seem to mind she now has a girlfriend too. I think he's a doormat with self-esteem issues.

smithsinarazz · 20/03/2018 20:02

Their polyamory's a separate matter to "how they identify" though, isn't it?

Got to admit, I do wonder whether calling a relationship polyamorous might sometimes mean one or more people being, ahem, screwed over by one person who's having all the fun. And, yes, that is a feminist issue. But I don't think that was what op was talking about.

dorothyparka · 20/03/2018 20:07

ask yourself why polyamorous relationships are "news" all of a sudden
Is whoever makes the little figures on wedding cakes trying to take over the world?

Missymoo100 · 20/03/2018 20:08

Smiths-
Well she is gay, he is pansexual- it says they are polyamorous. So I think the article is a full house on the things the media is promoting.
