Very similar responses to mine!

Yes... I have put masking tape on the windows and identified as a street pigeon.

Lemonjello · 07/03/2018 15:53

Good thinking Wink

HairyBallTheorem · 07/03/2018 15:56

Fabulous Pinky. A much more articulate version of the points I tried to make in my response.

SnibbleAgain · 07/03/2018 16:09

Well done Pinky.

Do you think that the committees it had to go are well up with everything that's going on, or do you think they know you are sensible and read it and it sounded very sensible and so said yes fine? Just so many threads on here saying that much of the general public esp men haven't really given this much thought.

OR are the advocates dead terfy?

By the way I love the style of it when I was reading it I thought, this is the way to write documents that sound assertive and professional and expert. The "We note" and "we acknowledge" - it's great.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/03/2018 16:12

Hopefully coming from a (well respected) organisation, it'll have more impact than an individual response too.

LineysInTheSnow · 07/03/2018 16:15

Good stuff.

PinkyPieismyspiritanimal · 07/03/2018 16:15

Ha Ha! Thanks :)

Advocates are not dead Terfy really - very mixed in terms of sexuality etc. I would say that they are dead sensible and foresee trouble if a law is changed for the sake of perceived progression. There are huge issues here that have not been properly considered in terms of the law.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 07/03/2018 16:15

Brilliant job, Pinky!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/03/2018 16:17

Pinky What are the chances of the Faculty retracting and apologising once they get leant on?

UpstartCrow · 07/03/2018 16:21

Excellent PinkyPieismyspiritanimal

RedToothBrush · 07/03/2018 16:22

Terfy = rational.

I'd live to see a barrister argue a point of law based on their inner feelings alone.

Practical implications and reality aren't about politics and apologies. Separation of politics and the legal system and all that.

SnibbleAgain · 07/03/2018 16:23

very nice job pinky & advocates

PinkyPieismyspiritanimal · 07/03/2018 16:33

@ItsAllGoingtobeFine - slim.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/03/2018 16:43

Good Smile I guess that as you are an organisation, and as it went through 2 committees, then you can all stand together.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 07/03/2018 16:47

Good job Pinky!!😃

Thank you Perky for standing up in the name of good common sense. Your response there is excellent, I very much respect you and your role.

invisibleoldwoman · 07/03/2018 17:05

Pinky Thank you. 🙏 Flowers Star

swivelchair · 07/03/2018 17:07

Thank you Pinky - thankyou very, very much.

athingthateveryoneneeds · 07/03/2018 17:10

Absolutely wonderful. Thank you!!!

Lemonjello · 07/03/2018 18:09

Presumably lots of other organisations will have been invited to submit to the consultation and will publish their answers too.

Would be good to look out for these and collate them together to see how the land is lying.

Triliteration · 07/03/2018 18:14

There are huge issues here that have not been properly considered in terms of the law.

Thank you so much Pinky. The Scottish legal system has a lot going for it. Hopefully your input will make them think again!

Elletorro · 07/03/2018 18:24

Pinky would you mind terribly taking a look at the girl guide thread?

Are the GG discriminating against boys by allowing girls and self id boys in but not biological boys?

Also discrimination against transgender girls by saying they have to leave?

I’d really appreciate your opinion

RedToothBrush · 07/03/2018 18:39

Elletoro, have a think about the legal ruling upthread.

If a child is 'self id' and the girl guides go along with it in the absence of supporting medical reasons, are the guides opening themselves up to being negligent of safeguarding issues?

I certainly think its an interesting angle to put out there and consider as it means that guides can not merely accept self id as it stands especially under the current law as they have safeguarding obligations to ensure that the child is not being placed under undue pressure to be trans.
