No, she's a politician first and foremost. Her constituents didn't want to lose the local children's ward, they really really didn't, but she didn't back them up against the policies of her party.

I have no reason to doubt that Madigan has suffered abuse and discrimination, but not abuse and discrimination because of being a woman. Equally I'm a white woman but that doesn't qualify me for BAME training schemes on the basis that discrimination, you can pretty much lump it all together can't you?

Yes. My DH and I do not see eye to eye. The other day I asked him if he would sleep with a TW (after discussing how most keep their penis and how that shouldn't matter because its about identity). He said no, because he has no desire to be involved with a penis. Then he stressed himself out that maybe he had some internal bigotry It was so weird.
My position about being offended about having my life dismissed as less important than a TW feelings didn't even register.

I have got to the point now that if men get angry with me about women's rights they can kiss my arse. I think these men are abusive and I won't have anything to do with them.

No sane adult actually thinks you can change sex. These men don't give a toss about Tims, they are not emotionally invested. I think that what is behind the outrage is simply raging anger that women are disobeying men.

Women are constantly expected to perform compassion and submission. I only really realised recently just how often I'm expected to perform like this.
