I'm really struggling to form an opinion on the trans issue that I can articulate.
On the one hand I'm really sympathetic to people with trans issues as it must be a difficult path to chose the tread.
On the other hand I have read some of the threads on here with shock. I just can't understand the sports issues, just how is it a level playing field (unintentional pun)? And surely trans issues are different to women's issues and need a separate space or something will be lost.
Please help me make sense of this and my thinking.

*chose to tread

Your opinions mean that the trans activists think you should die in a fire.

Does that help? They aren't really up for a careful analysis.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 01/03/2018 16:20

Ok. Yes that does. Is it really as aggressive and violent as that?

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 01/03/2018 16:21

Yes.

You have to do the reading, if you scroll down the threads there are lots or resource threads with links to very intelligent writing. Takes time.
Keep at it.

womanhuman · 01/03/2018 16:24

Yes, OP. You’ve hit the nail on the head, it makes no sense. None.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 01/03/2018 16:24

Thanks. Just feel like I'm a bit naive. I'll keep lurking - don't have a formed enough opinion to participate.
Just find the Lily Madrigal/Labour stance a bit unbelievable. Keep reading them and thinking - what?!
Thought I was doing a reasonable job of being a feminist as well - strong minded dd and a ds who thinks it's disgusting that women don't get equal pay and then this curve ball.

Once you see its absurdity, you can’t unsee it and can’t understand why others don’t. (IME).

Terf is a slur link....omg

Thanks - I've found this from your prompts and it's helped.

Does anyone know anything about the neuroscience of male vs female brain formation?

"On the one hand I'm really sympathetic to people with trans issues as it must be a difficult path to chose the tread."

I think most of us sympathise with people who have body dysphoria. They're the people who would have been called transsexuals a few years ago. Generally these aren't the people encroaching into women's sports and all women shortlists.

The term 'transgender' now covers a lot more people than transsexuals though, and it's when people start to realise this that they often start to have a problem with the trans ideology.

Terflonnonstickpan · 01/03/2018 16:37

It's a strand of the worst male behaviour, they are no different to the rest of the relatively small cadre sociopathic, deranged, deluded, dangerous men we have to deal with, other than the clothes they wear.
The damage they cause is way out of proportion to the amount of them however, as is the nature of sociopaths.

We have to come at them with the full force of our refusal to accept this because they are experts at grooming men, women and children.

They are grooming every political party in the country, and in many other countries.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 01/03/2018 16:40

Thanks for this and being patient with my lack of knowledge and not being patronising, I was slightly worried about being seen as dim

I will look through the threads and if you think of anything that's kind of introductory I would be grateful.

This thread is quite helpful in understanding some of the madness.

Peach yoghurt on YouTube is quite interesting and watchable. This video is a good intro to her style and her take on the transwomen are women idiocy. I’ve lost hours to her!

There’s nothing, as far as I know, that supports male/female brain theory. Lily Maynard’s blog has a lot of digestible debunking of Transgender myths - she’s the mother of a child who desisted.

Get reading, get cross, but in the next 20minutes please fill out the Scottish consultation on changes to the GRA

Theworldisfullofidiots · 01/03/2018 16:44

Ok will do

Yip, yip, yip!

thebewilderness · 01/03/2018 16:55

This is my question regarding self ID and the Gender Recognition Act.
Can you mandate belief?
Can you codify into law the idea that some people can mind over matter themselves out of material reality and into the opposite sex, and must be treated accordingly?
It is like transubstantiation. A belief that no one actually believes.
Will you allow people to drug and mutilate children based on this belief that no one believes?
Lupron will be this generations thalidomide.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 01/03/2018 16:57

Completed the consultation.

Change gender as often as you like??!!

Yes they are and older TSs probably would if they were young now and coming out in todays political and social climate.

Welcome op. Lots of us have only just learned about this fairly recently. It's a lot to get your head around but do read as much on here as you can

Theworldisfullofidiots · 01/03/2018 21:29

Ok looked up cotton ceiling. Isn't that just a way to guilt people into enabling a fetish?
(I'm beginning to think I'm thick and missing something - how is this being mainstreamed? Am I missing something?)

OP posts:
SwearyG · 01/03/2018 21:31

You’re not being thick. It’s really that straightforward and unsubtle. Astounding isn’t it?

Men take their fetish to work too

vaginafetishist · 01/03/2018 21:33

You're going to lose hours to this and find yourself desperate to bring it up with friends, wondering how to pass on your new found knowledge without sounding utterly unhinged.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 01/03/2018 21:41

Ok so how do I do that. I'm already getting this look from dh: Hmm and I'm pretty sure he gets it.

OP posts:
Theworldisfullofidiots · 01/03/2018 21:46

How do I do that. Dh is already giving me this look Hmm and I think he gets it.
I want to talk about it with dd (16 tomorrow) but think I need to know more first.
