LM doesn't have people skills - definitely, nor the political wit to handle this on a day-to-day level or survive all of this for the long haul.
I think the Labour Party are using LM (and the whole trans issue) as a pawn, a litmus test, to see how all this goes down. It will be easy for them to wash their hands of her and the whole thing should it go tits up, or hide it under the rug come election time. Or, say they were on the right side of history come the dawning of the new age when Labour think they will get back on the throne.
Labour's dear fearless leader might portray himself as the woolly geography teacher who tackles the difficult issues, campaigning for the underdog but I think he (and the other parties come to that) are playing the long game.
They are desperate for the young cool vote, who may or may not get out of bed to get to the ballot box. But they know damn well that women around these threads, and wider, will vote.
We will be politically and socially and culturally be served a shit sandwich: don't vote for the left and you'll get Rees Mogg (Victorian, hypocritical, Tory scum) or have luffely Jeremy, who's party will write you to the margins of existence with policy and procedure, but you'll still get you're abortions. Plus, don't worry ladezz you'll still get to vote.
If I was really going to strap on my tin foil hat and get into it, I'd say this was part of a larger plan to reorganise societal structures, for a planned, managed deconstruction of the economy and politics due to the environmental shit hitting the fan. (But then I read far too much Atwood etc (see my name))
