Why do transpeople not campaign for unisex facilities?

Or do they and I just haven't seen it?

If I was a transwoman with a penis my thoughts would go something like this.

'I don't want to use men's facilities because I don't feel like a man. I understand that some people feel that penises don't belong in the women's. But a unisex facility would mean I could use it and feel like a woman, and nobody who thought I was a man would be bothered I was in there'. Win win, surely?

Order I presume the reason most disabled toilets are unisex is to allow carers of the opposite sex in as well?

At my work we have men’s, women’s, and unisex disabled on every floor, but two of the women’s cubicles have adaptations to make them suitable for some disabilities as well. Then on some but not all floors we have unisex, which is complete self enclosed cubicles but they are able-bodied unisex, and in the same place there is a unisex disabled as well. So hopefully everything catered for.

More Unisex facilities would also be good for parents caring for children of the opposite sex or anyone who doesn’t care and doesn’t want to queue. Problem is they need to be in addition - existing single sex facilities usually designed on assumption that less privacy is needed - can’t just change door sign.

Becuase those that are shouting the loudest want to be accepted as women no questions asked

Apparently if the person next to me in a changing room looks like a man in a dress takes off their clothes and has a penis I’m not to ask questions as they have decided that are a women just like myself Hmm

Only way forward is male, female and unisex spaces. Certain Support groups to be kept to male, female and transwomen/transmen spaces

Some transgender advocates say they need the affirmation of being treated as the opposite sex to maintain their mental health.
Some transgender advocates say their goal is to displace women entirely.
Some men are using transgender rights to get rid of all sex based protections in law.
Some transgender advocates are in favor of unisex facilities.
Transgender advocates are not the Borg any more than Feminists are. Turns out quite a few of them are Russian bots.

Problem is that there aren’t very many at the moment and trans people still need to piss. Ideally without being beaten up by men, who tbh seem to be the main issue here.
Is there any evidence that this actually happens?
I have seen dozens of trans identified males selfies in the men's restrooms asking if this looks right but never a report of an assault on one of them.
Because men recognize men and do not seem to have a problem sharing to loo with trans identified males.

May be worth checking Miranda Yardley's site regarding it? I know Miranda periodically posts about being a TIM who just used a male bathroom and was astonished to yet again experience a complete lack of violence and harassment.

Equally if it's ok for TIMs to come into women's bathrooms via self ID (which lets in any sex offender too) to get away from the male violence, don't we sort of have an immediate obvious issue that the male violence came with them so they're no safer?

And why would it be ok for TIMs to have to use women's facilities against women's protests because of needing a safe refuge to pee away from men - and yet when women try saying the exact same thing they're being 'hysterical' and 'it never happens' and 'you can call the police if anyone's inappropriate or violent' and 'well violent men are going to do it anyway, so which bathroom you're in won't stop them' ?

Reports of transgender people being beaten up by men in men's toilets appear in newspapers and other news media only very rarely. Does this indicate:
(a) such violence is so frequent that news outlets regard it as "old news" not worthy of comment because it has been witnessed regularly by most consumers of news?
or
(b) it is very rare?
or
(c) some other reason?

(My question is prompted by some things I've learned about the biases involved in reporting of violent crime. For example, the tendency for rates of reporting rape to police to be treated as an indication of the actual rape rate. In 2010, the reported-to-police rape rate per 100,000 of population in Sweden was (allegedly) the highest in Europe, 91 times higher than in Albania. It's a bias caused by high levels of reporting in Sweden and low levels of reporting in Albania, and it doesn't show that rape is very rare in Albania.)

Why do women have to tolerate and chance male violence, yet TIMs don't! Hmm

The poster has prob had wait outside a Disabled loo that doubles as baby change and breast feeding space. I know I have. Not a problem it itself but waiting 20-30min to use loo having no idea how long someone is going to be is nightmare. So if you are adding yet more people into the queue for Disabled loo, it’s not going help.
