I saw a Tweet in which Lily said he was going for a job interview. As he only started Uni in October this must be for a part time job. Unless he meant yet another unpaid post as some kind of rep or officer.

Lily is such a disaster for TRAs, that I can't believe they haven't shut Lily down. They needed the first TIM in a women's role to be unimpeachable, intelligent and serious - someone like Miranda Yardley (not that Miranda would ever stand, of course) - and to campaign actively for women. That would have made it hard for women to object. Instead, we have the vapid, vain, avaricious Lily whose every Tweet is evidence of unfitness for the role. It's going to get harder and harder for Lily's handmaidens to keep supporting Lily without looking like total idiots.

Madigan is an MRA in a dress, not a trans woman as most people would understand the term. He saw an opportunity for self promotion and for indulging his misogyny and he took it. The bigger scandal is that the leader of the Labour Party fell for it and is feting him. And Harriet Harman is unbelievably dim-witted to say that members would see through it if an MRA were to try to get elected. It has already happened, at the very first attempt.

I may or may not have tweeted my annoyance at the ageism of Young Labour. I truly feel that since I identify mentally as a 16 year old I should be allowed in. This is how this works, right?

Which brings me to the most politically pressing thing I’ve learned.
Mumsnet is angry

They think that the sort of self-declared gender laws that may end up in force in the UK, as they have in other countries,
will do nothing less than render the word ‘woman’ meaningless, with all that that implies for equality and freedom and, well, civilisation as we know it.

To paraphrase some common sentiments:
you can’t become a woman, because womanhood is based on biology, socialisation and experience that only those born to it can know;

Ugh just looking at the responses to Lily’s tweet about his mum deadnaming him. Lots of ‘if I were your mum I’d be proud to have such an awesome daughter’. If Lily were my son I’d be thoroughly ashamed of the petulant, narcissistic, misogynyist brat.

If Lily was my offspring he'd be grounded until he was 30.

The trouble with putting it this way, is it brings out all the people who think it's that we're jealously guarding 'womanhood' (whatever the hell that's supposed to be) - rather than actually fighting to keep the small accommodations that have been granted us in lieu of being thought of as actual people with thoughts and feelings.

Lily is not a women's rep, he is a trans student rep. That is the group he communicates with best. If he doesn't get on with his mum then it could be tricky communicating with older women as he probably sees us as all the same.
