BBC debates women's safety - without any women

rowdywoman1 · 10/02/2018 13:47

I see twitter's going well for him Grin

CandlesAndIncense · 10/02/2018 14:00

Well the majority of the responses are pretty strong.

How can the BBC be so shortsighted. It's hardly being 'independent'.

WitchIwasaWitch18 · 10/02/2018 14:05

I have cancelled my TV license. Pathetic I know but possibly the only recourse I have to object to what is going on.

NotTerfNorCis · 10/02/2018 14:15

Wow there's a lot of anger swilling around judging by the responses to his tweet.

CandlesAndIncense · 10/02/2018 14:19

Is there no one at the BBC saying "hang on, women represent 51% of the country. We are listening to a representative of the other 49% and a representative of a tiny subset of that 49%. That's not right..."

TERFousBreakdown · 10/02/2018 14:19

Wow there's a lot of anger swilling around judging by the responses to his tweet.

Twitter is on fire, indeed!

TBH, it being Paris L. of all people probably helped. Paris comes across as supremely self-absorbed. I'd feel immediately annoyed by anyone acting this way - trans or not.

BiologyMatters · 10/02/2018 14:29

I've done it. The first thing ive actually done to help the cause. Im too scared to put my name to anything though so i hope its actually anonymous.

BiologyMatters · 10/02/2018 14:29

Has anyone got a twitter link? Id be interested to see.

TheXXFactor · 10/02/2018 14:32

There's a link in the OP

OP posts:
BiologyMatters · 10/02/2018 14:33

Sorry i missed that Smile

TerfsUp · 10/02/2018 14:35

Complaint sent.

LadyMcLadyCrisps · 10/02/2018 14:39

Complained. I told them they are sleepwalking into another Savile scandal. That should hopefully hit a nerve! I am crazy angry about this, I cannot believe what I have witnessed here. I feel more marginalised as a woman currently than I have ever felt in my life, and that is saying something. Offended is not the word.

I have peaked AGAIN! BBC, I see you, you misogynistic patronising sexist cockwombles.

LadyMcLadyCrisps · 10/02/2018 14:41

OP, I think you should share this to AIBU too, I think more Women NEED to see this and have a right of reply/complaint. I dont care how right on anyone is here on mumsnet, and what side if the femce you fall, surely the irony and hypocrisy cannot be missed here.

LadyMcLadyCrisps · 10/02/2018 14:42

Of the fence... sorry, angry fat fingers...

LadyMcLadyCrisps · 10/02/2018 14:49

For anyone braver than I (recently peaked and not quite there yet) nick has a facebook page...

WitchIwasaWitch18 · 10/02/2018 14:55

I made a comment and it got marked as spam! Very proud moment even if it was wasted! I was polite too. Talk about being silenced...

LadyMcLadyCrisps · 10/02/2018 14:56

Are there any journos here brave or willing enough to expose this ridiculous bullshit from the bbc?

MachiavellianBagOfCunts · 10/02/2018 14:58

oh, the irony. The link to the podcast in the tweet didn't work, so went via the website. This is the description:

'The journalist and transgender rights activist talks about growing up trans and why the way media debates trans issues makes her angry.'

why the way media debates trans issues makes her angry

Angry

Me too. Me fucking too.

picklemepopcorn · 10/02/2018 15:07

The lunatics have taken over the asylum.

Everyonematters · 10/02/2018 15:07

Witch what was your comment?

WitchIwasaWitch18 · 10/02/2018 15:09

I posted a link to this thread and said plenty of opinions over here

ExFunFeminist · 10/02/2018 15:30

The links to the podcast don't work. Is it just me? Or has it been removed?

MachiavellianBagOfCunts · 10/02/2018 15:38

@exfunfeminist, you can find it via the website. Away from laptop or would post link

hipsterfun · 10/02/2018 15:38
