Women's Place UK website hacked

After less than 24hrs up A Women's Place UK website has been hacked. The lengths the TRAs will go to in order to silence us never fails to amaze me.
On a brighter note it seems the 'protestors' in Bristol couldn't find the meeting...

Sorry, is it "Woman's Place" or "Women's Place"?

LangCleg · 09/02/2018 12:42

Is there any political organization that it's a crime to be a member of in the UK? Or is Giuliana suggesting that a new law be created just for Women's Place?

That Guiliana person is unhinged. I'm pretty sure they mean proscribed under the terror legislation. Here's the current list of proscribed groups:

There's a few, I believe. Mainly ones that endorse and incite terrorism.

I took their "uncut" to mean they still, proudly, have penises

Oh absolutely, me too.

But the actual word 'uncut' is already associated with FGM campaigns - it's very cynical to appropriate a word used by another women's campaign - and kind of drawing a parallel between GRS and FGM. Which, in my mind, are obviously not comparable at all.

LangCleg · 09/02/2018 13:06

They're called Sisters Uncut because they're an off-shoot of UK Uncut - one of the early anti-austerity groups founded after the Tories came into power on the austerity agenda in 2010.

Cut refers to spending cuts. The "un" bit signifying against cuts.

They've always been fully on board with the trans agenda and open to TIMs.

Think there will be protests at Edinburgh meeting

Fair enough, lang - I'm obviously a tad sensitive!

hackmum · 09/02/2018 13:35

"Sorry, is it "Woman's Place" or "Women's Place"?"

Woman's Place.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 09/02/2018 14:27

Lemon I've been blocked by whoever posted that tweet, but is it the same one as this? twitter.com/ProudTransWoman/status/961943399015288832 ?

(did we meet a few Saturdays ago, BTW)?

Lemonjello · 09/02/2018 14:38

Nope, different TRA. Remember the edinburgh branch of action for trans health are the ones that put out that bonkers manifesto so I’m sure the 14th will be in their calendars.

I wasn’t there that sat but hope it was productive?

Lemonjello · 09/02/2018 14:44

I see there is an anti-terf placard and banner making workshop happening in Edinburgh on Sunday.

KerplunkChampion · 09/02/2018 14:44

Well done everyone who went and who is involved with this stuff Thanks

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 09/02/2018 16:09

Oh for goodness sake!

OvaHere · 09/02/2018 16:12

Think there will be protests at Edinburgh meeting

I've been expecting the biggest protests at Edinburgh because it's the stomping ground of that group that wrote the ridiculous manifesto.

OvaHere · 09/02/2018 16:14

Sorry I see lemon already pointed that out Blush

Lemonjello · 09/02/2018 16:24

I think an Edinburgh protest is also likely to be the most unpredictable as anyone who could write that, and expect it to be taken in any way seriously, are quite clearly unhinged.

Barking.

OvaHere · 09/02/2018 16:39

I see they invoke the Transwomen are being murdered thing again as if it's happening right now in the UK with alarming regularity. Isn't the actual figure under 1 person per year since 2008?

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 09/02/2018 17:46

I'm blocked from that Edinburgh ATH twitter too Grin I never get to see the good stuff.

BetsyM00 · 09/02/2018 17:53

According to ATH Edinburgh's facebook page they have a planning meeting of their own on the 14th. So hopefully they will be otherwise occupied.

hackmum · 09/02/2018 17:57

"Isn't the actual figure under 1 person per year since 2008?"

I believe it's one person in its entirety since 2008. But happy to be corrected.

BetsyM00 · 09/02/2018 17:59

I don't know why they keep spouting that TW are being constantly murdered - it's easily checked. Seven in last ten years in the UK, none of which were in Scotland!

BetsyM00 · 09/02/2018 18:02

hackmum: According to transcrimeuk.com/2017/11/16/trans-homicides-in-the-uk-a-closer-look-at-the-numbers/ it's 7, but most of them were sex work/drugs related. You could well be right that it was only one because they were transgender.

OvaHere · 09/02/2018 18:10

Found a thread from back in Nov

What?

Can't the men work out how to do it for themselves?

It's almost funny. It makes them sound so ridiculous.
