I can't decide between Stephen King or Guy Tang. I'm not that bothered about the whole penis thing. My gender doesn't define me and I'm that feminine anyway, so I could cope with being male but they're both recognised as very talented men in fields I am passionate about.

Obviously, as soon as I id as one of them, I will immediately share their life experiences and the things that make them them, therefore I will also be recognised as a very talented author or colourist and people will flock to me and buy all my books or hair products. Anything else would be phobic and literally wishing death on me.

DD2 would id as a ninja.

I still want to be me, but when I describe myself nobody says I'm genderqueer or agender or demipangender or colourgender.
I am female. And have short hair. And am a lesbian. And a woman.

But I would ideally like people to first address me as your royal highness, and maam thereafter, to rhyme with ham.

UpstartCrow · 06/02/2018 10:19

Beingmethistime That is genius.

picklemepopcorn · 06/02/2018 10:39

I know it's pathetic and sad, but I'd like to identify as a slim attractive athletic woman. I'm sure my inner self just bursting to break through my stupid caterpillar body is stunningly attractive.

I have looked at my flab and pondered slicing it off. Why won't the nhs give me surgery to help me match my outer body to my inner sense of myself?

Beansonapost · 06/02/2018 10:41

A rich white man.

AstraiaLiberty · 06/02/2018 11:10

I'd self-identify as a witch. Not the Wiccan sort, the Harry Potter sort. I'd point a wand at people and shout things in pseudo-Latin and if they didn't recognise my magic and my ability to curse them and respond accordingly they'd be oppressing me. If they claim that nothing is actually happening to them because I'm a muggle and Harry Potter is fictional anyway then they're literally erasing my existence. Trans witches are witches.

I'd identify as not disabled. I do in fact identify as not being disabled... I don't look disabled. Biology dictates that I am.

LadyMcLadyCrisps · 06/02/2018 11:44

A smurf.

I am blue because I believe it in my heart, everyone else must accept me as a smurf because to not would be literal murder.

I am currently signing up new smurf allies to help defeat all the horrible nasty SERFs.

SERFS must die.

Can I just self-identify as a 65 year old and draw down my pension, or is that too boring? I don’t really want to have to work another 30 years. My joints ache, I feel tired, I know what it feels like to be 65. So I am now. I want a retirement gift and to never work again.

I can’t see why I can’t.

HuckfromScandal · 06/02/2018 11:53

A mushroom - coz I feel like I am kept in the dark and fed shite a lot of the time!

birdbandit · 06/02/2018 11:59

I am going to identify as a rich person.

I plan to scream abuse at any shopkeepers who don't support my fantasy, I expect them to role play my buying the goods, and support my needs and identity by allowing me to take the goods home. I imagine they will consider me brave.

I also want to be on the top of the Sunday Times Rich List, despite my having zero in the bank, because my journey makes me a more worthy awardee, than someone who has worked hard to earn their money.

Obviously I won't do any of the work associated with becoming rich, I'm still going to be underemployed and a bit lazy. But my actions won't matter, because how I identify is more important.

WiggyPig · 06/02/2018 12:11

If it worked the way TRAs say it does then I don't think anyone could ID as a cat or a supermodel or a billionaire. The options are multiple but they are still limited.

I think the one I would be is non-binary or agender as that most closely fits me. In seriousness I think the reason this stuff is so popular is that it gives younger people a name for "woman who thinks social gender stereotypes are a load of bloody nonsense" and a belief that they invented it. They're all latent rad fems. Just wait til they have children and their feminist pansexual genderqueer husband turns out to be just as much of a sexist man-child as his dad...

I lost my temper reading an article and came out to my DM this weekend as a trans angel. (She is only recently peaked, and from the slight panic in her eyes I think for a moment she thought I might be serious.)

So my authentic self is going to wander the world vaguely doing good with a six foot wing spread. All doors will obv. have to be widened to accommodate them, and anyone who claims not to see them or fails to provide the space required for them is an AEB. (Angel excluding bigot) No one may discuss flying in any form as exclusionary and hateful, and birds are AEB little bastards. I have written to the National Gallery demanding the removal of all AEB imagery immediately.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 06/02/2018 12:45

Oh trans angel is a good idea. You could sneak around putting feathers in the path of the gullible to influence their life choices. Estate agents might employ you.

MissMoneyPlant · 06/02/2018 13:05

Jozxyqk I'd identify as not disabled. I do in fact identify as not being disabled... I don't look disabled. Biology dictates that I am.

I don't look disabled either. But I'll continue to identify as disabled so the government doesn't need to keep re-assessing my benefit claims...

Actually I already identify as "agender" if anyone calls me "cis"...

Frequency · 06/02/2018 15:03

If we're fluid, I'm Guy Tang during the day and Stephen King on an evening, except for the days when I identify as a small child, when I'll be found in my fort under the dining table colouring in. I suspect these days will fall on the 28th when my bills need paying and when my house needs cleaning. Anyone who tries to reason with me and get me to leave my fort is a poo-poo head stinky bigot and are commiting actual abuse.

I also don't subscribe to the idea we can only self-id as a limited number of things. Anyone who denies this is denying my very existence.

OP posts:
Jozxyqk · 06/02/2018 15:16

MissMoneyPlant - true. If wishing a thing could make it true, though... I'd sooner be be able to work & earn my own money, than live on the meagre PIP allowance & benefits, & worry it will be withdrawn, & be in constant pain. If wishing a thing could make it true...
Ironically I'm disabled because of an extremely rare reaction to the pill, many years ago. Obviously I'm a rare case, but a lot of women struggle with hormonal contraception. Something no biological man, or transwoman, has to bother with. But it's exclusionist & transphobic to mention female biology, & dirty to mention periods or any of the less pretty aspects of womanhood. I cannot understand why transwomen simultaneously want to be recognised as women, yet so many of them clearly hate the idea of female biology.

MyOwnShed · 06/02/2018 16:46

Right, well if we're allowed to identify differently each day, here's my plan for week one...
Monday: Hercule Poirot
Tuesday: a cappuccino drinking cat (Tuesdays are definitely cat days)
Wednesday: the bloke up the hardware shop, he seems quite content
Thursday: me in a dress
Friday: me
Saturday: neither here nor there
Sunday: the vicar in a tutu.

OnTheList · 06/02/2018 17:07

A very rich 18 year old man I think.

I am awaiting the day trans-wealth comes in. I am absolutely self identifying into that one and awaiting my pot of gold.

Independentstateofeyebrows · 06/02/2018 17:09

Ever other Wednesday I'd self id as Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Because he wore a lovely hat.
And I like hats.

MissMoneyPlant · 06/02/2018 17:54

Jozxyqk I hear you. Flowers

I've been having a chuckle at this list of genders... turns out there's several us TERFs can choose from:

Anongender - "a gender that is unknown to both yourself and others".

Apagender - "a feeling of apathy towards ones gender which leads to them not looking any further into it".

Cassgender - "the feeling of gender is unimportant to you".
Exgender - "the outright refusal to accept or identify in, on, or around the gender spectrum".
Genderblank - "a gender that can only be described as a blank space; when gender is called into question, all that comes to mind is a blank space".

Genderpunk - "a gender identity that actively resists gender norms".
Quoigender - "feeling as if the concept of gender is inapplicable or nonsensical to one’s self".

These ones are confusing me:

Magigender - "a gender that is mostly gender and the rest is something else".

Systemgender - "a gender that is the sum of all the genders within a multiple or median system".
Femgender - "a nonbinary gender which is feminine in nature".

Adamasgender - "A gender which refuses to be categorized".

Aliusgender - "A gender which is removed from common gender descriptors and guidelines".

Obviously, everyone is actually...

Egogender - "a gender that is so personal to your experience that it can only be described as “you”".

Sadly I'm on a laptop so can't do the crying with laughter emoticon... Grin

StealthPolarBear · 06/02/2018 17:56

It is now no longer the case that identical twins are the same gender.
The madness continues....

StealthPolarBear · 06/02/2018 17:56

Miss I genuinely have no idea if that list is a piss take or real.

MissMoneyPlant · 06/02/2018 17:57

Whoops - link to ludicrous list.
