I did bite a little - asked OP to pass on my regards to Owen, Lily and Bromentum.

I do completely get what you're saying, I have stayed away from all TRA goadiness as a rule, though walking on fucking eggshells for years is somewhat wearing to say the least. We all have a breaking point.

I'm not sure I agree with ignoring it. I think each time a TRA thread is posted, a few more MNers reach peak-trans as they read the responses.

MNHQ have taken down the goady thread, saying it had received lots of reports.

Here is what I have asked them:
"Reports from whom, MNHQ? Reports from actual regular users of MN who are worried that OP was a goady troll trying to start a bunfight? Or reports from a load of newly registered "users" trying to shut down debate? I'd be interested to know."

Because I wonder if that thread was started in order to give TRAs an opportunity to indulge in a reporting frenzy.

I got in just before the axe fell and "reported" the post from MNHQ in order to ask the question, but just got the generic response of "sorry for the mass e-mail, we've had lots of reports which is why we're taking it down" which didn't answer my question at all.

Op of that thread did seem like a goady fucker.
But I think it's better to ban.
Women put lots of energy into brilliant arguments and the op gets everyone so riled that they post loads, millions of women see it and become more aware of the issue.

As I pointed out on the thread, you couldn't make a more misogynistic point if you tried: "women, your only role in the world is to be our fucktoys, and if you don't meet our exacting standards as fucktoys, you are nothing, and thus not even allowed an opinion on what it is to be a woman."

I just thought the other post had some stellar examples of how bad things are. I wanted it to stay because it contained all of the nonsense in one place.
