If you told me a week ago that Andrew Marr would ask Senior political figures "is a trans woman a woman?" on his show this morning, I'd have scoffed.

The #nodebate mantra has been well and truly blown out of the water - a consequence of LM abusing her position - but, more importantly, that acted as a catalyst, and the result is that women everywhere, including here on MN, are refusing to be silenced, and are willing to step forward and tell their story to the world.

What did the senior political figures say?

David Lidington (Tory) blustered for a bit, then threw Justine Greening under a bus and said a consultation with all sides will take place.

Jeremy Corbyn said, categorically, that Labour believe that self-identifying trans women are women.

Yes, I am so glad this is coming into mainstream. I kind of wish Marr had pushed them a little though. As Corbyns position from what I have read is clearly ridiculous so would be happy for him to be made to state that he believes women are not a biological reality and are instead a feeling in someones head.

Not just in someone's head; exclusively in a man's head.

The utter disgust I have for a bunch of men entrusted with public office actually sitting around discussing what a woman is and whether women should be allowed a voice regarding a massive roll back on their identity and rights.... and not one of them has the intelligence to notice they have now lost the plot and any basic common sense or morality so badly that they shouldn't be left in charge of a lemonade stand, never mind public responsibilities.
