Hahaha. I’m so crap. I’m used to twatter and faceache. Yeah, link would be good. 😂

Personally I like it, but it's too long, too dense (for many readers), and has an introduction that delivers a lecture rather than provides easy access to the substance of the article. 5/10

KissMaCis · 25/01/2018 14:13

Yeah, that’s why we need voices like Liddle really. But it’s great otherwise. Still waiting on CW piece. Hope they didn’t drop it, Karen and me worked hard.

That's a great piece.

nauticant · 25/01/2018 14:20

Despite what I posted, it's worth remembering who the audience is. It's directed towards people in the Conservative Party who can have a word with those in power who decide policy. They're saying "look at the mess the Labour Party have got themselves into, we must be careful". That's a good message even though Mark Wallace got a bit carried away with himself.

LangCleg · 25/01/2018 14:24

Oh, that's interesting.

KissMaCis - you have done really well, you know! I take my hat off to you. First, a bit of thundering - and masculine! - micky-taking from Liddle and now a reasonably influential article about the political advantage that can be gained by not pandering to the radical TRA agenda.

Neither of these articles represent my views at all - but that's not the point. Both of them illustrate that prominent voices are actually beginning to understand the issues and demographics.

It makes such a change from everything being utterly misrepresented by the liberal left press. A few more of these and the Grauniad et al are going to have to take note and produce some actual journalism rather than pro-TRA propaganda.

CommanderShepard · 25/01/2018 14:27

I knew Mark Wallace at uni and it fascinates me to see the change in him. His politics aren't how I remember him at all.

nauticant · 25/01/2018 14:31

The comments are also good on the whole. However, there's only one comment that shows any awareness that they Tories are also supporting the same madness that has got Labour into its current mess.

Battleax · 25/01/2018 14:31

This.

womanhuman · 25/01/2018 15:52

Fantastic! kiss I don’t know who you are or the circles you move in, but they’re way more useful than mine

The linky thing, it’s not you, it’s MN. If you’re on mobile, links in OPs aren’t linky unless you Do Something. In subsequent posts, they’re all linky without you doing anything.

That is a great article, shame it's on the conservative website as it might reduce its readership. I found it very interesting - had not perceived identity politics as a strategy before.

QuentinSummers · 25/01/2018 17:10

kiss In the OP you have to double bracket the link to make it clicky. I always forget

TheFallenMadonna · 25/01/2018 17:15

Well, it doesn't support all women short lists, however you define woman.

TheFallenMadonna · 25/01/2018 17:17

In fact I think it would include all women short lists in "identity politics".

KissMaCis · 25/01/2018 17:21

Quentin, I don’t think people outside tribal bubbles are that worried about where a piece is. The CW piece should drop tomorrow. And Karen is writing another piece with Dr Wendy Wheeler about biology fact, versus intangible theory. That will be awesome. Wheeler was my lecturer at uni, she has no truck with this crap.

Just watching Tessa Jowell 😔 Can we all just salute that Lady?

SandSnakeofDorne · 25/01/2018 17:52

@commandershepard Has he not always been a Tory then?

QuentinSummers · 25/01/2018 17:59

Maybe I am too lefty kiss! I wouldn't read anything on conservative website because I just assume i wouldn't like it!

Battleax · 25/01/2018 18:00

Yes indeed.
